Yes, at level 25 you can get it by doing the Mender Tess intro to Ouroboris mission.
Neat thing about doing it at level 25 is you can bring along temp powers, and you have a level 25 inspiration tray...lots of room for reds

And, I can't remember at this early time of the morning, but I think you have access to your first five powers....I think....probably wrong.

Anyways, as long as you do Mender Tess's mission you are golden

I have gotten to the point where I do half of the Isolator Badge in Outbreak, and the final half at level 25.

    Good luck.

  3. Hello all.
I have never been able to do a Mastermind, but my better half likes them, so I am thinking of making a VEAT to play with him.

So my question is what would go well with Demons. I think he is leaning towards the Poison secondary.

I just unlocked the Veats about an hour ago, so I am not experienced with the critters. Forts sound interesting though.

    Thanks so much

    Lisa.
Edit-Not real sure why I ended my title with a period instead of with a question mark....tired I guess.

Realistic sigh and a lopsided grin....I am almost 100 percent positive I shall have problems in this new tutorial.

This is my first and only video game. Outbreak was so confusing to me that my better half made himself a toon and literally took me by the ear and dragged me through the tutorial.

Then a year later I decided I was going to play Villians....got totally lost in there.

I can look back and laugh now....but not then...shudder.

And I am probably going to get lost in this new tut as well, but, this time around, I am not going to beat myself up about it

I am going to relax, and if I get lost, I shall laugh about it

And I will find myway into Pretoria.

Maybe hours later, but I will get there

    Lisa.
  5. Whew. Reading this thread has helped me understand that I am not an odd duck for enjoying my Energy Melee/Willpower Brute.

    I solo.

I kept hearing about how awful EM is, and yet, when I go redside now I always reach for either, depending on my mood, this Brute or for my Mind/Electric Dom..or is is Mind/Electric ? Never can recall which comes first.

In the beginning she felt subpar. I felt like I was boxing with pink pillows tied to my hands...but I gained levels, and with those levels came more slots and more powers, and I got Air Sup, and, and, I am a happy camper now

Thanks to everyone who put out in the open the fact that Energy Melee is a good Soloing Brute.

Grin. In a way it is balance...Shields has teaming powers, us soloists have Energy Melee

That's my story, and I am sticking to it

Anyway, thanks again for allowing me to feel good about liking my toon

Lisa-And hmmm...I get my vet reward boxing attire in a few days. I know a certain pink haired toon who is going to get some new clothes

Regarding the EU problem with teams that makes sense :P lol

Now the second one... 11 letter words... there cant be that many surely first word is most likely 'New'

EDIT: guess wrong http://clubefl.gr/games/wordox/11.html get searching people for anything that makes sense Or black pebble could just give us one random letter? lol

I went to that word site and promptly bookmarked it. I found lots and lots of words that could be used as Hero names.

I agree the first word is new...the second, eleven word word...hmmm

    (1) New Antifogging-Dark Astoria, Rogue Isles maybe.

    (2) New Beardedness-New Beard 0ptions ???

    (3) New Belladonnas-Ghost Widow has sisters and wannabes???

    (4) New Chimpanzees-New Critter!

    (5) New Fattinesses-Players were wanting a fat slider

    (6) New Farmworkers-The Devs have at last realized farming is here to stay and are giving us a new AT whose strength is farming.

    (7) New Farmerettes-Female toons can farm too you know.

    (8) New Flippancies-NPCs will have more to say

    (9) New Hatemongers-Always.

    (10) New Overpricing-Because the devs balanced the game around SOs,they want us to use SOs, so they are raising the cost of IOs.

    (11) New Antismokers-We have smokers in City Of Heroes/Villains, so now we are going to have vocal antismokers...it was only a matter of time.

    (12) New Foredooming-Always

    (13) New Programmers-We need these to have.....

    (14) New Programming

And one last thing...instead of new, the first word could be man.

Man Farmworkers-The new Farmworkers AT have to be male...which would upset the Farmerettes, but, oh well.

I guess I should read the whole thread before responding...but no, I don't think it would be tacky. I mean, my female heroes do wash their hair, and I am sure there is more than one brand of shampoo in Paragon, and they all, shampoo makers, want my hero to notice their product and give it a try....so no, it is a dab of reality which makes city of heroes appear to be a real city.

Grin, and I am sure the adwriters would have fun making an advertisment for their product in a Super Hero setting

When they first announced the plan, I was quite interested. I was also looking forward to seeing the fan art and fan advertising they were going to put on billboards as well.

    What did happen to that?

  16. Hello all.
I have been playing Redside alot lately, and have been playing with the colors of my powers to the extent that two of my Villains are starting to wonder if they belong to the Legacy Chain . ..I colored the powers of my SS/Willpower and Fire/Willpower Brutes white

I went to Paragon Wiki and read up on the Legacy Chain, and what stood out in my mind was the powers of Inferno Of Flame

Fire Blast, Fire Ball, Fire Breath, Fire Sword. . . common powers, yes, but wait, there was one more, Fire Sword Slice!!!!!

Fire Sword Slice Lowers your opponents defense!

    I want

Was this power ever in game for us players ? I have never taken it, but is this what we call Melt Armour?

Anyways. ..not real sure why I posted this except I thought it interesting and am now curious about Fire Sword Slice.

    Happy Easter everyone.

Lisa-Going to hunt me some Legacy folk and see it in action

    Big wide grin.

I recall one day my Crockpot wasn't heating up. I told my better, and smarter, half that I was going to have to buy another because it was not working.

"Is it plugged in?" he asked.

    "Yes, of course" said I

He came over, eyeballed the situation, and burst out laughing.

It seemed that I had plugged in the toaster and not the crockpot.....So, yes...... "is it plugged in" is indeed a valid question.

    Lisa-Still blushing
  18. I apologize too. I read the "I'm in Post", flew to the Test server, got in, then came back here, never once thinking about the loyalty program and/or or Prepurchasing perks.

Please don't think I was being a tease.....just highly excited and thought everyone else was in too...as I said, I am inexperienced in this, and didn't stop to look at the different forums.

    Sigh.

    Lisa-Very sorry.
  19. I'm in!!!!! I am in the training Room

    Squeeee!!!!!!!
  20. It is indeed still early... the clock on my computer says it is now 10:26 Central, so that means it is only 8:26 Pacific.

The Devs that start up Open Beta are probably just settling into their chairs with their cups of coffee and, and, whatever they munch on while drinking coffee.

But, I am off today, so that probably has messed up a Tuesday start.

And oh my, I forgot to do your AE arc, and no that is not old age memory loss...just very busy.

Lisa-scampers off to the AE building.

My scrappers do not, or at least they don't seem to, drink endurance with the same gusto my Brutes do.

I plan to bring some scrappers redside.

I have a Fire/SR who has always seemed a trifle evil to me, and my Dark/Regen thinks she might want to become a shady peep and do shady things.

  24. Grin.

In my search notes I have "No teaming because I get lost easily, and I can't type fast"

The slow typing sounds funny, but, I have been accused of being snobby and stuck up because I can't type fast enough to both fight and join in on team conversations at the same time

But let's take a look at the numbers so we see how can you make the most of her. The primary/secondary combo is a bit uncommon, mostly because /ElA is somewhat squishy early on and FM/ doesn't have any sort of mitigation (knockback, mezzes etc) but only damage damage and more damage. So you have a super high damage primary, and a secondary that is tough enough but a late bloomer. Between 20 and 28, when you get Energize, you'll feel the squishiest. After that, it gets much better, especially once you get Tough.

Once you get Energize, slot it asap with at least 4 slots in total, and I really recommend that you frankenslot it for heal and recharge. You'll save a precious slot or two that way, and you really need both to be maxed. At 35, get Power Sink and frankenslot it for recharge and endmod, and all your endurance worries will vanish forever.

Once you have Energize and Tough, you'll be quite robust. If you take Mu Mastery as your patron pool, you'll get another survivability layer in endurance drain - jump into a mob, fire off Power Sink, Electrifying Fences and Ball Lightning and their endurance will be emptied.

But you have a problem, and that's too many powers to take. If you take all of your attacks except Breath of Fire (which is a common practice for a leveling build), all the useful stuff you need from your secondary, Stamina and a travel power, you won't be able to start dipping into the Fighting pool before 38, getting tough at 41. That's late. What I suggest is skipping one of the first two attacks (I'm not sure about it but people say it's better to drop Fire Sword because Scorch makes for better attack chains without big amounts of global recharge) and skipping Grounded while slotting a -KB IO (Steadfast Protection into an armor toggle, or IMO better, Karma into your starting CJ slot if you go the jumping route). Then you can get Tough at 30 if you take Lightning Field early, or even at 14 if you postpone Lightning Field to 30 instead. I'd recommend the first choice, however, as LF is a great source of damage. And since you are FM/, you should capitalize on it.

But since you say this is your first villain, you probably won't be able to afford a -KB IO unless you get lucky. An alternative is not to take a travel power and make due with temp travel powers (raptor and zero-g packs) or Ninja Run if you have the Martial Arts booster.

As for the endgame... You'll be both an AoE and ST beast. I have a fully IO'd SM/ElA myself, and he's a real monster. Soloes +1/x8 without any problems. You'll be somewhat squishier since you lack the massive mitigation SM/ offers, but you'll do more damage. So if you intend to IO the toon out - go for near permahaste, and then about 20% defense. I miss a few seconds till permahaste and have melee defense at 25% with other positions at 18%. No purples, but I do have 2 LotGs.
Wow Exxar. Exactly the info I needed

I have a Spines/Elec so I do indeed know how soggy /Elec can be before Energize

Hmmm..at level 21 I already have Boxing as I use that as a fury builder so that roadblock to Tough is out of the way. I took Lightning Field early so I already have that.

I skipped Fire Sword, and took Scorch as I read somewhere that Scorch was all fire damage and my Fire/Fire scrap on Victory never missed it leveling up, so I didn't feel my Brute would miss it either...but then I have my two vet powers to make up for it

I have a Steadfast Knockback that I got in a drop, as well as a couple Karmas from lucky ticket rolls so I am fine there.

As far as transportation goes, because I have Air Sup I am going fly if I take a travel power at all. Hurdle plus Ninja Run plus the Raptor Pac gets me everywhere at a good clip.

From that same Fire/Fire scrap, I learned from her how valuable Air Sup is for the Fire primary so I have that.

What I did not take yet, I will, but not yet, is Build Up. Right now I am fine with the reds and yellows that seem to drop like snowflakes.

So, looking over your advice it seems I am on the right path

Thank you !! Thank You!!! Thank you!!!
