If we could, that would give the RMT'ers more things to sell...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not if the game accounts have to be under the same master account.

    [/ QUOTE ] For instance:

Make another game account under your main NCsoft account. Don't put anything important on it.

Give the RMT's the secondary account's password where they can PL a bunch of toons (and/or give them lots of money) while you are casually playing on your other character. Then transfer the characters over to your "real" account when they are done.

Yeah I'll post up a wrap up tomorrow. We finished so Yay!

Gotta love supports response: "Working as intended". They didn't even bother contacting me in game, just sent me a form letter email. Thanks! I appreciate it

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, that's kinda what I expected support would say: "level up and try again later"

Gratz on still finishing! Nice job! See you all tomorrow!
  3. Just issuing another reminder to make sure your Test Clients are all set up ahead of time.

This is happening THIS WEEK (Tuesday and Thursday). Hope to see everybody there!

PS (for Tuesday) - Dr. Kahn is located down the street just north of the Train in FF (just around the corner from the Ouro location).. in front of the Vanguard building

    Recognized Badge

It's 100 total stars. You are right, there is no way to see how close you are.
  5. I used to have a long detailed thread about this.. I'll try to keep it short this time....

That results from your computer's clock not being in sync with the server's.

Check the date time, and timezone on your computer's clock and try it again.

Don't worry.. that number is just cosmetic. It has NO bearing on Day Jobs, WW/BM items, or SG leadership status. It's just a simple calculation the client does comparing the time "last_online" reported by the server, to your computer's "current_time" so we can get an idea of how long it's been since we used our characters.

    Too much technical info:
IF "current_time" is a time earlier than "last_online", it results in a negative number, which the client subtracts from the maximum value of the 32-bit field (4294967295) in seconds, which equates to:
    49710 days, 6 hours, 28 minutes, and 15 seconds

You can test this by changing the year on a correct clock to 2010 and you will see the client report about 365 days offline. Changing it to 2008 will report about 49345.

Another cool trick you can do is change your clock back about 1 minute. After logging out a character, it will show you offline 49710 days.. but if you wait a few seconds (or a minute ), you will see it disappear when "current_time" finally passes "last_online".

I feel bad for Luna's team. Being EX'd down and disconnecting forced the TF up to lvl 50 and there is no way to fix that. Hopefully there isn't much more to go. Good luck everybody.

And don't forget Test Server 02 tomorrow night for the i15 TF! I hope to see everybody there.
  7. If we could, that would give the RMT'ers more things to sell...
  8. Somebody else had a similar problem as well. You can use window scaling to make that window smaller, but we didn't know what the name of the window was called, so we could only fix it by changing the value globally for the other person.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
    You can.

If it hasn't changed too drastically the Super Leader can grant any rank the ability to set permissions in the SG window under Settings, and then under Set Permissions or something to that effect.

At least that's how it used to be, I don't know if they've changed it or not, I will check when I get home and update.

I speak from experience because a character in my SG that has the 4th rank can set permissions on the bins, so I'm presuming that you can set it to allow anyone.

[/ QUOTE ] When they added the individual bin permissions, they removed the bin options from the Permission list you are talking about.

Edit: and no, there isn't any workaround other than writing single-paragraph bios.

Or using ridiculous paragraph breaks like this:

    Write a little something.
    --------------------------------------------------
    Write some more...
    --------------------------------------------------
    Add a little bit more..
    --------------------------------------------------
Probably run out of room in the text field. lol

    [/ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]Tht only works if the person looking at your bio sizes the info window approximately the same size as you do.

[/ QUOTE ] Well I think 50 dashes is more than enough to cover the default sizes. It's still makes for better viewing for most people than what we currently have.

If you aren't comfortable with 50, take satisfaction that you wont end up with:
    "-----------------------------------------
    ---------"
if you put too many, so add as many of them as you think you need.

Yeah, it might look silly for people who expand the info window very large.
It'll still work as a fine divider regardless. Anything is better than a wall of text.

[/ QUOTE ]Of course, then you're also eating into your limited character count

[/ QUOTE ] Hence my: "Probably run out of room in the text field. lol"
It all depends how much the space is worth to you. Write the bio first, then evenly distribute the dashes until you run out of space. Adjust where necessary.

To be honest, I'd prefer a much simpler approach:
    "SPACE FOR RENT" haha

The only thing that can really be stolen is the actual arresting of the enemy - that final blow that puts them down. Most of the game/xp is not related to the final "arrest" but to the damage that you have generated to the enemies. The only time that it is is when you are on a head-count mission, and those are the exception to the rule.
If someone is following you around doing this - waiting until you have almost killed something and then making the final hit in order to take credit for your arrest - then you could petition the person.

    [/ QUOTE ]
hm... Let me rephrase here. It sounds like you are saying that only the person who lands the 'killing blow' gets the defeat credit for a hunt mission. That is incorrect. If I do 1/3 of the enemy hit points, then someone 'kill-steals', doing the other 2/3 and finishing the enemy off, we *BOTH* get the 'kill credit'.

Anyone who does more than 10% of the enemy's hit points, or is on a team that does more than 10%, gets kill credit.

[/ QUOTE ] THIS. If somebody is trying to grief my hunt, I just land a few shots and move on. I'll let them finish the foes off for me. It just makes my hunt go by faster. lol

The only exception I can think of is when you are talking about saving a Citizen from a mugging.. the last foe's defeat will cause the NPC to come back and award you with extra inf. This bonus only applies to the person who "got the kill".

  15. OK, since we are just a couple days away, I suppose I should get going on consolidating this list. I'm not completely sure what everybody will end up bringing, or if people have seen the official event times yet, so I'll just include everybody who looked interested so we get an idea of who might be there and we'll hash it out on Test when the time comes. I know many people have already done the new TF, but I hope you guys still come again.

PLEASE see the Original Post for info about using your Freedom characters on Test Server 02. Make sure you set it up ahead of time so there isn't any last minute problems getting in. Don't forget that our Freedom characters were copied to TS02 on May 18th and will be whatever level they were on that day.

Also, don't forget that I added "Freedom TF Chat" to the test server and it's NOT linked to the same channel we use on Freedom. If you are on live, we wont be able to hear you on test. It might also be necessary to re-join and/or re-add the channel to one of your chat tabs on the Test Server.

That is the obvious answer: either they share their account, or are fibbing. You would have to actually actually open the RATE PLAYER box, and SELECT five stars, or whatever, to do so.

My money is on "shared account."

[/ QUOTE ] Actually, a shared account wouldn't necessarily do it unless they also use the same computer also. Those notes are not saved on the character, but saved on your own computer in the your_account_name directory. If you logged into the account from a different computer, you shouldn't see any info at all.

If that file is corrupted, you can see strange results. Also, there are times where the global name does not save correctly, and somebody with a similar name and/or global will show with the wrong rating/info.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I think you also lose ratings/notes when someone changes their global name too.

[/ QUOTE ] That's true. The file saves by the global name at the time of the note, and if that name changes, the file treats it like a different person and creates a new entry.

That's a crazy known bug. After certain updates and/or server maintenance, the accounts lose their epic "flags" for both hero and Villain ATs. You have to relog onto the lvl 50 to re-flag the account to unlock them again. (or in your case.. hitting lvl 50 again did it! haha Gratz again!)

  24. If you right click somebody, you can "Add Note" and rate that player with as many stars as you want. They can't see the stars, and nobody else can see the stars. You are the only one that can see the rating you give.

If you don't think it's working as intended, the following file hold that information, and might be corrupted:
    "..\City of Heroes\your_account_name\playernotes.txt"
