Quote:For comparison, here are my billing dates: (assuming each month pays for 30 days of time)I don't see how rent, phone, or cable are relevant? Here, the price you pay is constant per day, because a "month" is always 30 days.
(And, by-the-by, I have lived in apartments both where rent was based on 30-day months, based on weeks (4 wk = 1 mo), and based on calendar months)
Account created 6/13/2006
+14 days for Trial: applied 6/13/2006 (+14 = 6/27/2006)
+30 days for CoH Retail: applied 6/27/2006 (+30 = 7/27/2006)
7/31/2006 (+30 = 8/26/2006)
8/28/2006 (+30 = 9/25/2006)
+30 Days for CoV Retail: applied 9/20/2006 (+30 = 10/25/2006)
10/27/2006 (+30 = 11/24/2006)
11/28/2006 (+30 = 12/24/2006)
12/28/2007 (+30 = 1/23/2007)
1/27/2007 (+30 = 2/22/2007)
2/27/2007 (+30 = 3/24/2007)
3/28/2007 (+30 = 4/23/2007)
+30 Days for DVD Retail: applied 4/13/2007 (+30 = 5/23/2007)
+60 Days for Game Card: applied 4/13/2007 (+60 = 7/22/2007)
7/26/2007 (+30 = 8/21/2007)
8/26/2007 (+30 = 9/20/2007)
9/26/2007 (+30 = 10/20/2007)
10/28/2007 (+30 = 11/19/2007)
11/26/2007 (+30 = 12/19/2007)
12/26/2007 (+30 = 1/18/2008)
1/26/2008 (+30 = 2/17/2008)
2/26/2008 (+30 = 3/18/2008)
3/26/2008 (+30 = 4/17/2008)
4/26/2008 (+30 = 5/17/2008)
5/26/2008 (+30 = 6/16/2008)
6/26/2008 (+30 = 7/16/2008)
7/26/2008 (+30 = 8/15/2008)
8/26/2008 (+30 = 9/14/2008)
9/26/2008 (+30 = 10/14/2008)
I gave out a Refer-a-friend code on 10/15/2008, good for "one month of free game time" (+30 = 11/13/2008)
I switched to the "12 Month" Plan (+360 = 11/8/2009)
(I then switched to the "12 Month + 2 Free" Holiday Plan, but have not yet been re-billed.)
+30 Days for AE Retail: applied 1/08/2009 (+30 = 12/8/2009)
I also had 3 successful "Invite a Friend Back" rewards earned this year, good for "15 days of free game time" each:
sent 8/16/2009, 10/10/2009, 10/10/2009 (+45 = 1/22/2009).
Yet, my current account status is: Playable Until 2/9/2010.
It doesn't seem to shift correctly based on how many days are in a month... if each month billed granted only 30 days, then I was not even billed until several days after my time ran out, which seems like a silly thing to do. My account has never lapsed other than the initial Trial period ending on 6/27/2006, and I immediately purchased the retail from the online store that night. I think we are actually getting credit for 31 days on those corresponding months, and even less for Februaries.
Using full months of payment, instead of 30 days, my time looks like this instead:
Account created 6/13/2006
+14 days for Trial: applied 6/13/2006 (+14 = 6/27/2006)
+30 days for CoH Retail: applied 6/27/2006 (+30 = 7/27/2006)
2 months of regular payment = 9/27/2006
+30 Days for CoV Retail: applied 9/20/2006 (+30 = 10/27/2006)
6 months of regular payment = 4/27/2007
+30 Days for DVD Retail: applied 4/13/2007 (+30 = 5/27/2007)
+60 Days for Game Card: applied 4/13/2007 (+60 = 7/26/2007)
15 months of regular payment = 10/26/2008
The Refer-a-friend code, good for "one month of free game time" = 11/26/2008
12 Month Plan = 11/26/2009
+30 Days for AE Retail: applied 1/08/2009 (+30 = 12/26/2009)
3 "Invite a Friend Back", good for "15 days of free game time" each (+45 = 2/9/2009)
There's the correct date! We are billed monthly, for the MONTH, not for 30 days of game time.
Once I'm finally billed for my 12+2 Plan, I expect I'll be playable until 4/9/2011.
Quote:Then chalk it up to the general wonkiness of the vet rewards. Mine have not 'crept up' and are hitting the dates based on calendar months.
3 months - MO 11/6/2006 (release date of veteran rewards)
6 months - TU 12/12/2006
9 months - WE 3/14/2007
12 months - WE 6/13/2007
15 months - MO 9/10/2007
18 months - TU 12/11/2007
21 months - WE 3/12/2008
24 months - TU 6/10/2008
27 months - WE 9/10/2008
30 months - WE 12/10/2008
33 months - TU 3/10/2009
36 months - MO 6/8/2009
39 months - SU 9/6/2009
42 months - SA 12/12/2009
That date has shifted all over the place! ...but I DON'T have a long, drawn-out explanation for this one. I tried blaming it on the day of the week, but I can't find a pattern anywhere. lol -
Quote:I agree. It should get at least a little attention. It was talked about when they were first introduced, but nothing has happened yet.
I am really hopeful that Going Rogue will see an expansion of leveling pacts.
For Example:
I can see issues with this when 2 Heroes will engage in a Leveling pact together, and decide to "go rogue" together, but are no longer in a pact by the time they become Villains. (Since Leveling Pacts use the Server Friend's list, and you cannot befriend an enemy, it would most likely break the pact when people switch sides.) -

I believe the BuildUp Proc shows up in the "Healing Delivered" channel.
I have it in one of my auras too and it's practically non-existent... almost not even worth slotting.. but it certainly does go off once in a while.. inside a mission, and outside. -
That's a common thing on villainside. Contacts are not as automatically available like they are on Heroside. To get a new contact at any time, you just have to do some missions from the "Newspaper" contact. After so many missions in the same zone, you'll be asked to run a Bank mission, and you'll be able to choose a new contact after that.

Quote:Maybe that formula only works on the Female model, which has a shorter default value and higher maximum Scale value. AAny idea where this person got the numbers from that are in the formula? I was trying it out on a couple toons, and the results I'm getting are shorter than I know those toons are. For instance, I checked it with a villain that is as tall as you can possibly make a character, Huge type, should be at least 8' tall, but the formula result is 7' 2.54".
Male/Huge formula would probably have a higher value than 163 at the beginning. I'd theorize it's probably closer to 183.
Disclaimer:
I don't know anything about that formula, and haven't plugged anything into it, but my reasoning is this:
163cm is 5' 4.2", which is the roughly the default Female model size with Legs/Physique turned all the way down.
The Male model's default with Legs/Physique turned all the way down is 6' even, which is 183cm.
As it turns out, Huge looks like it's actually slightly taller, but nothing you'd notice in gameplay. -
Try Self Destruction instead of Self Destruct

Quote:Fact is.. there are some people who enjoy quiet areas that are not overrun with tons of other players... either solo or with a few personal friends. That's enough of a reason to keep low population servers open.try not being on freedom and say that..just cause your on the highest poulation server doesnt mean it shouldnt happen or doesnt need to happen.
if only 900 people are on..how many of that is dual accounts?..take away a 1/3rd of that then..then on top on that look to the 100 people on guardian or a few others.you wont even get 200 not counting all the dual accounts .
subscriptions are low period..gr should be in beta already and theres been no word from posi in months...sorry but i dont take what bill says either.thats like listening to ac..just aint gonna happen
The current free server transfers can allow you to move out of an area you don't want to be in. If you don't like Guardian, anymore, and think Freedom is better suited to your needs, then just move here on your own. Why make the Devs force you to?
As long as the game can afford to keep the other servers open, and there are still people playing on them, there is no reason to close or merge them. The only suggestion I make would be to explain current server population/activity better to the new people who don't know which one to pick at first, so it wont cost them a transfer later. -
Quote:I agree, the name should still show up on the team for TF-like teams, but simply show "offline" or something as their location./k charactername works. Thank you very much!
As a QOL improvement, TF leaders should be able to review who is on a TF/SF and kick whoever, whenever. Until we can do that, I'm writing down teammate names for each longer TF that I do (especially Posi).
In the meantime, I usually use the chat history to see the name of the person who left, either by things they might have said, enemies they killed, or when they first joined the team and it showed up in system chat. -
"Text Message Blocking" is usually free.
If you don't want them, and don't want to be charged, turn it off.. if even temporarily during holidays and birthdays, or pay the money to add text messaging temporarily during those times.. at least it'll be cheaper!
Also:
"people I dont know" are sometimes "people who changed their number and didn't tell me", but it's true that sometimes it really is people you don't know just dialing the number of the person who had your number before you did, because they failed to inform people of number changes as well. lol -
Quote:AFAIK, the only "public" place is the Pocket D dance floor. If you were experiencing the problem elsewhere, it could also be the issue many people have with the teleport powers being interrupted when people port to Ouroboros. It's common to see this issue right after a mission when some people use Ouro to get someplace else, and you have to wait a few seconds to use your teleport power again.OK, I must have been in anti-tp zone. Both times I tried after I exited out of a mission so I don't know specifically where I was, but I guess that was the prob. I just tried again and it worked. Are the anti-tp zones on the wiki?
That wouldn't explain why you still lost a "charge" in the power though. -
Quote:As I said above.. I tried making a new toon and they were immediately available for me.. which is why I suggested trying it again. I'm not having any problems accessing Veteran items (including the boxing items, and even wings) at character creation.Unless I'm mistaken, the boxing costume parts are LINKED to the vet badge, so you don't have access to them until AFTER the badge is awarded and that happens when you first enter the city.

Quote:In the 19th century, it was standard to use the apostrophe to form a plural of a foreign-sounding word or an acronym to clarify pronunciation.. but this is the 21st century.. lol(And yes, Eric, it is acceptable to use an apostrophe in between an acronym and an s to denote that it is plural. Possibly not preferred, but acceptable.
)
Misused apostrophes are often referred to as "idiot's apostrophes" (a literal translation of the German word Deppenapostroph which criticises the misapplication of apostrophes in Denglisch). -
Quote:That's just it.. you really shouldn't have to..I know, I just don't like to use a token when I shouldn't have to.
Try again on another new character and see if the options are still missing. If not, just save the costume you made and re-roll it without using a free token. -
I just checked, and the Boxing gloves were right where I expected them to be at the character creation screen.
On a side note, the 39 month Veteran Badge comes with a Free Tailor Session of it's own that you can claim from your Veteran Badge window, and new characters would have at least 8 more Veteran Sessions from previous months. -
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Costume_file
The possible values seem to be percentages of the default height.
Female default is smaller than the Male/Huge default, so the resulting scale is probably from a different origin point, and wont equate to the same height.
You also have to consider that the actual height may differ depending on leg length as well. -
I think it might have something to do with the "new" requirements for that accolade as well.
When the requirements were changed, the badge progress counter removed Unbreakable, Raider and Lanista as requirements, but didn't correctly add Iron(wo)man or Hammer Down if you had already earned them before the change.
The accolade itself is earned as expected, but the progress bar does not always reflect accurately.
On a side note, the Architect X and XXV badges still seem to be broken, in that new characters are not earning any progress toward those badges for the Global badges they earn upon creation... and XXV is still not earnable by any character that didn't already have it before the changes, because there are only 24 other earnable badges on each side for that category.. though I assume GR might change that when a Hero could earn Villainous and a Villain could earn Heroic after switching sides. -

We did something similar last year. It was a lot of fun... but very tiring by the time it was over. This year we'll be doing them each night instead, so if you can't get an all-nighter of your own going, you might still be able to grab a spot on one of these teams:
Shadow Shard TF New Year's Weekend Extravaganza!
TH 12/31/09, 9p ET : Dr. Quaterfield
FR 01/01/10, 12p ET : Sara Moore
SA 01/02/10, 12p ET : Justin Augustine
SU 01/02/10, 2p ET : Faathim the Kind
Besides the shard, there are a few other TF events listed in the event as well. -
I'm back in town, but unfortunately.. I'm actually going out that night, so good luck to you guys and see you soon!
-
not doing them all in a row this time? lol j.k
Pending my availability, I can attend a few of them. You know where I'm at. -
-
Pending my arrival back into town, I'd be in for this... I should be back by then.
I guess you can put Robin down for now. Toon isn't really important to me, so I'll switch based on the mood and team. haha
