Solved!
For some reason, unplugging the monitor from the port I've always used and plugging it into the video card's other port fixed everything.
I don't understand it, but I also don't question miracles.
Thanks to everyone that took their time to help out! -

Je ne parle pas le français. (Merci Google!)
Je suis heureux que cette information atteint vos yeux! L'expansion va à ravir. You will love it.
Quand je vois que vous me remercier dans une langue que je ne sais pas, je suis humilié. Be well. Profitez de l'information ont un grand jour! -
So sad, some peoples' reactions.
Art is subjective. Stories are art. If the person who died 92 times, got zero kills, and provided no support got the PvPEC's nod for "MVP of the year", there'd be a controversy, because you couldn't break down, in numbers, how wrong they were.
This, though, is a matter of opinion. Your opinion didn't match the judges'. I'm very sorry that you didn't get the prize you wanted, but surely you can be respectful enough to let others enjoy their moment of happiness.
Congratulations to the winners! I intend to play all of the arcs later and form my own thoughts on each. For now, however, congratulations, and I hope you enjoy both your prizes and the nods.
Edit: Just got a neg rep: Idealism is for kids. Would the person kindly sign their name to the comment or post here that they had it? I can't really take your feedback seriously if you don't own up to it. -

I'm tweeting details as fast as my sore thumbs can carry me! I'll try to get more tomorrow, but that's the majority of Going Rogue info.
Enjoy!

Excellent! Copied from the fantastic cohmissionreview.com, I present my arc:
Story Description: Investigate the inner workings of a little known villainous organization, in order to help a former henchman in over his head.
Story Arc ID: 328990
Authors Global Chat Handle: @Marcian Tobay
Length: Very Long (5 missions)
Level Range: 1-54
Mission Status: Final
Alignment: Heroic
Designer Notes: This was my first project and is intended to be a soloable story. The enemies should be relatively easy yet interesting, in order to keep the emphasis on the drama that unfolds. Additionally, the concept of the enemy group introduced is written that it should fit into the rest of the City of X lore without feeling shoehorned.
I am working on a poster or banner to have at some point.
Harshest criticism welcome! Thanks! -

Quote:No luck, but I couldn't find a "Default video adapter" option, either. I set something from PEG to PCI, though...Windows doesn't recognize your 7900gs at all? If it recognizes it as a secondary adapter, you can try going to the screen settings on XP and 'expanding' the desktop to a second monitor. That should give you something out of the 7900gs, to make sure it's working.
Try going into the BIOS (Del or F2 at the boot screen) and make sure the "Default video adapter" is set to PCI Express and not Internal. That should make sure the 7900gs is seen as the "main" card.
If both things fail, and you want to make sure the card works, download a linux distro (Ubuntu is great, but if you don't plan to use Linux regularly, Puppy Linux is only 100MB) and boot with that. If it doesn't recognize your card, you're probably in trouble. If it does recognize the card, some Windows update did indeed screw things up. -
Before I go about trying your tips, I'll answer this, that you may mull it over while I'm on radio silence with the reboot.
It does and doesn't. Power is getting to it (from my new and powerful power supply) and the fan is turning. When I plug my monitor into it, the monitor stops complaining that it's not plugged into anything, indicating at least a vague awareness.
Beyond that, I can't get it to notice it. I've put it in a bikini, given it interesting conversation topics, and even got it involved in some hilarious hijinx. None of this, however, has resulted in my finding any indication in my software programs that it exists. -
I downloaded all of the Microsoft updates that Windows recommended last night, proceeding then to go to sleep.
This evening (my first time using it since shut down), plugging my video cable into my video card yields no results. My monitor acts in full knowledge that it's connected to a video card, and then goes to sleep.
I plugged my monitor directly into the motherboard now, so that I may navigate things.. The computer says I have a NVIDIA GeForce 6100. This is all lies and slander! I have a NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS.
Humbly do I ask... The heck!?
~MT~
P.S. I had to update my drivers for the 6100 it thinks I have, anyway.
Edit: And the power is getting to the video card. The fan is running. Just downloaded the correct drivers, just in case. -
I'm currently using the 7900 with a 280 power supply. It works, but would it work better with an better supply?
And yes... trying to get RAM tomorrow. -
By some fortune, I ended up with two video cards. Which would be better for City of Heroes?
Radeon HD 3450 vs. NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS
Either way, since my power supply is 280 W and my RAM is 1 Gig (On VISTA!), I'm thinking I still need upgrades to get to even a bearable performance...
Thanks! -
That was how I presented it, but your critique is a good one. The next picture will have Hero & Neutral checked off, to show that it's possible to be two at once.
Bi-alignment. That's some hawt holodeck action there. -

Quote:All the rest of the search options would be there. Also, I forgot to include that the typical "search for words" would be at the top of this./em hands Marcian a pizza trophy
That's amazing looking. I like it. I assume the "More Options" button would allow me to select, say, only 2- or 3-star arcs, or even those that have no rates? -
Sorry for the short post. Kind of in a rush. Anyway, here's a sudden thought of mine as to how I'd like the opening page of the MA Menu to look. It provides more options, streamlines the intent of the program, and quells complaints of always receiving the same recommendations.
I don't have photoshop skills, so I just dove in with MS Paint. Enjoy!
P.S.: The three buttons below are selectable, with the yellow ring representing what is currently set. -
Quote:<3 I had forgotten about that! Good times. :-)"Heads up, kid: No one in PWNZ gets to make fun of someone by implying they have no life.
There are super hero comics, which are sad (I'm reading comic books!). Then there is a video game about super hero comics, which is a depressing double layer (I'm fantasizing about reading comic books!. Then there are the forums, which are a twisted addition to that (I'm talking about what it would be like to fantasize about reading comic books!).
Then there is PWNZ: I'm talking about people talking about what it would be like to fantastize about reading comic books.
Now you understand why I'm so emo-ish."

*Sigh* All right, I'll hang out here moar. -

Hello! I don't really know protocol for this, so I'll make it brief:
I just launched my Mission Arc, At What Cost, Greatness. To help promote it, I'd like a signature and/or beautiful thread image to post on these forums. Anyone willing to do so would receive a small donation from me on their Deviantart, or wherever they peddle their magnificent wares. It wouldn't be much of a donation, as I'm far from rich, but it would make for a pretty nice dinner or extended DA account. :-)
You can PM me for details and play the arc for inspiration (#328990). My global is @MarcianTobay, should you wish to contact me in game.
Thank you all for reading! If I did this wrong, please let me know. Have a great day! -
Hello, everyone! I've finally got off my butt and completed my first story arc! It should play like a five-part interactive movie, but I'll let everyone form their own opinions. Here's the break down:
Arc Name: At What Cost, Greatness
Arc ID: 328990
Faction: Phoenix Ashes (Custom Group), Arachnos
Alignment: Heroic
Creator Global/Forum Name: @MarcianTobay
Difficulty Level: Medium, I believe. Let me know if the difficulty is unexpected at any point. The fights should flow smoothly into each other, with one epic, but fair, conflict at the end.
Synopsis: A former member of the villain group, The Phoenix Ashes, is so desperate for your help, he's willing to risk retaliation from the Phoenixes, as well as jail time. Helping him out of his apparent danger will involve you learning the inner workings of this nefarious group, as well as the malevolent secret of their leader, Garuda.
Estimated Time to Play: One run through landed in a little over an hour. It's five parts, but each level is shortened to just what is needed to establish the storyline. If it drags or feels too compacted, let me know.
Note: This is my very first arc, so all kinds of criticism is accepted.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this, and I hope you enjoy my little tale! -
In my story, it needs to be similar to what happens in Black Scorpion's Patron Arc: While you're tearing up one room/trigger/boss, a boss charges into the room and lays the hurt on you.
I would have thought this would be "Spawn Ambush", but I can't seem to locate an option to spawn an ambush of just one.
Halp? -
Quote:Thanks for the feedback. My current idea is to hide bits of the monologue around the level, making them an effort to find, and thus giving players a "Now let's read this and see what I earned!" mentality.No. CoX doesn't play very nice with alt-tab on my system..
Also it's rather resource-intensive, and Flash doesn't play nicely with a busy system.
Rough draft. -
I'm making a story arc that involves a villainous monologue. The text limit is constraining, as is the fact that many readers will get bored. This gave me the idea to voice the monologue and post it on Youtube.
Question: If I were to do this, and you came across my arc, would you take the time to find the monologue?
Thanks! -
I'd master the Mission Architect until the Law of Diminishing Returns kicked in, and then I'd complete the other games I've dropped. This would probably take a couple more months.
