I would like the option of having living ancient warriors that are not, you know, ninja.
As much as I like ninja, it is not the only thing I would like to have.
Samurai
Barbarians
Knights
Heck, just a handful
would also be nice to have undead that weren't rotting/disgusting
Ghosts
in addition, since it's possible to get heroic masterminds, perhaps
Angels
but the big one is the medieval warriors
We have two modern sets: thugs and soldiers
But only one ancient: ninja
and swordswinging suits of armor, magically animated or actual people, are just as often in superhero comics -
The option to switch the graphics display for a character to display something other than the normal view:
Radar sense, Heat sense, motion sense:
Radar sense: colored outlines (color determined by the player)
Heat sense: predator-esque colorations
Motion sense: sort of the same as Radar, but with trailing FX
this totally unnecessary and simply a cool-factor, but could be fun -
Quote:I wouldn't mind an EAT allowing for a Kali-esque multi-arm style character.
(Edit: And yes, all of the above use the extra arms in their animations. Player Crab Spiders do, too)
(Edit2: Not that I'm disagreeing with you, Snow, just pointing out existing examples of what you're saying. While there is a way to get extra arms for players, it's an EAT, so they're able to control what animations you can use) -
Quote:or maybe a power-set built around multiple arms?Pretty nice artwork on that one. But as the comic shows, multiple sets of arms are a beast to animate and just figure our what to do with. Especially in a video game, you're basically going to need brand new animations for them, which would make them incompatible with current sets.
Also, didn't Peter Parker go through a phase like that? -
...might possibly be coming with animated tails (hope and prey) so it looks like I'm going to need a new period hope and prey costume item with which to send BABs and J into fits of headbanging.
found it...

For those interested in knowing where I stand on my commercial project:

I'm also giving regular updates on Twitter
You might be interested to follow this because you might be interested in buying the books when the come out.
Or you might just be interested in knowing when I'll next have time to do tons of fanfiction. -
Quote:I have an 18 magic thugs/traps who's supposed to be a servant of Bast (tacked on to bio, magic was an accidental click) who's working as a Longbow informant.Does anyone here play redside characters who, in the RP sense, are proper heroes? I have one that I rolled partially as a joke (playing off of all the wannabe villains you saw before CoV came out), but I'm finding that it doesn't take much effort to justify in character.
This is just a curiosity. I'm not (currently) looking to join any RP groups or anything like that.
I find myself mentally rewriting endings.
For example, I didn't bring the super infected to that crazy doctor, I brought him a magical simulacrum while helping longbow take off with the real one.
going to bring her GR eventually -

Quote:So....you found ANYTHING plodding in comparison to BSG? Really, interesting story, but not that fastest paced thing on the planet.Yeah that's pretty much how I feel. Though with Star Trek while I enjoyed the new Abrams movie, I can understand why Trekkies hated it because in tone it was very different to what had gone before (which is probably why I enjoyed it, because in the past I've always found Star Trek rather plodding and bland compared to sci-fi I like such as Farscape, new BSG, Firefly, etc.).

I know members of my regular static team have said they wouldn't ever want to team with a mastermind due to the potential for pets causing trouble.
I've since come up with an agreed upon experiment for GR that is based on my play style when I act as a team troller or defender.
Basically, unlike with the majority of scrappers, blasters and tankers, where you want to be running all your toggles or cycling all of your attacks, with defenders and trollers it is usually a much better idea to stick to your three to four bread and butter powers and save most your main powers for situational needs.
This came about with playing my illusion/storm especially. (granted she's part of an all-troller team)
Hurricane, Gale, Tornado and Phantom Army rarely see use. Greater invisibilty usually stays off unless I'm scoutting due to my use of Steamy Mist. I don't even have Flash (all troller team, so...it hasn't been needed)
Most of our fights come down to Sleet Storm, Spectral Terror and then spot controls with Blind, Spectral Wounds and Confuse.
I only bring out the Army if there's a significant force to deal with. I only use Hurricane to deny the enemy access to an area, usually when indoors and in conjunction with another teammember's Bonfire and another's Earthquake and Quicksand. I only use Tornado indoors so far, and only when I know where all the enemies are, as long as I can control/predict the enemy's position, I can make use of the Tornado.
Likewise, I intend to take this philosophy with Mastermind.
Use only one pet summon at a time for most circumstances, in cases where we're expecting heavy resistance, bring them all out ahead of time and enhance. In case of surprise, probably get them upgraded slower, but still quickly enough.
Basically, only use as much force as is needed for the particular situation, no more, no less. -
Quote:Here's my wererat ex-assassin. Now she uses the Blade of Morpheus, a shapeshifting blade that will cut non-living material, but only pass through living material, making them go to sleep.
Note, the "Mako" costume from Nerima Daikon Brothers has been retired and replaced by "Shampoo" from Ranma 1/2
Still trying for that Rularuu sword to do Katsumi Liquer

Quote:My only real problem is that Holmes, while a slob in his surroundings (his home is always loaded with smelly experiments in the process of being finished, piles of papers in odd places, articles he's written and is in the process of editting before sending for print and clothes in odd places and varying states of cleanliness), Holmes is very fastidious about his personal hygiene.This. Criticizing Holmes for the reasons stated throughout the thread is as criticizing Casino Royal for not being truth to the real gadget-loaded Bond.
I loved every minute of Sherlock Holmes and consider it far superior than that other movie that broke so many records.
Oh and for Transformers (or "Bayformers") the nostalgia critic says it best:
NC TF1
NC TF2
Say what you want about TF, but NC got it right, THAT is what i wanted from a TF movie.
He always kept himself shaved, always made sure that he wore clean clothes (though, as previously stated, he tended to just toss them around after done with them) and dressed well. Part of this, in my opinion, was that it made it so much easier to go about in disguise, and may have also been designed to minimize the amount of information regarding himself that he gave others.
People would get so used to see Holmes as prim, proper and fastidious that it was next to impossible to equate him with a fumbling old priest or a dirty, smelly bum -
ahhh, just realized...I do have another Catgirl...and she's a going rogue candidate too a thugs/traps who works as a Longbow deep cover informant
Gunsmith Cat (since she got marked magic instead of natural, I also decided she's a servant spirit to Bast....she does have an egyptian style winged cat-girl costume to signify that, but I have no screenies of that) all her thugs are also cat-spirits in disguise (better than her, actually) whom she refers to as "brothers"

All I have is a half-Kryn (alien race from Gold Digger that are basically cat-ish)
She's the daughter of a human martial artist and a Kryn priestess that went bad due to jealousy over an outsider making the moves on her prince, eventually tried to commit magical murder-suicide, ended up in a magical prison that doubled as a therapy Retreat and has since lived a "normal" life after getting out and meeting and marrying previously indicate martial artist
Calico uses a combination of smoke magic and martial arts and isn't aware of her mother's villainous past
no tail, but fur and ears and felinoid face -
Quote:For me, it was Faultline.Yeah, the first time I went to the zone, my reaction was "OK, this does not look like a nice place. I do not want to be here!" The game did a very good job with taking you out of your comfort zone with that one, because the rest of the city you've seen up until this point has been... Well, a city, with people walking about, stores here and there, buildings, life... Just a regular city. Then you go into Boomtown and it's like walked right down the rabbit hole.

Quote:I'm pretty sure that a nuclear submarine still travels faster than pretty much any animalYeah but there are some life like jellies that can move super fast without feeling the affects of moving fast. Yeah subs move fast but nothing compared to some surface boats and airplanes. Heck you can even go faster on land if you just sit backwards. The human body can take way way way more negative Gs then positive Gs.
-
Quote:submarines travel pretty damn fastBy the way come to think of it. Everyone is wrong about what the fastest animal is.
The question was what is the fastest two-legged animal on land/water?
Well the question didn't say they had to use those 2 legs for the movement.
So I would be us humans with the fastest land speed and fastest speed on water. Tehehe.
Though I can say so far we arn't the fastest in the water. -
Well, as someone without an actual main character.....
Medusae
Wyrmling
Blood Rose
Heck, practically any and all of my 60+ characters have really interesting stories behind them. -
Quote:To be fair, Holmes is described as being an excellent fighter from the first story onward with boxing, wrestling, cane and sword fighting being in his arsenal according to Watson."BEYOOOOND REACH SMAAAAAAAAAAAAASH!"
Everytime I see mention of the absolute pile of filth it sends me into a blind rage. When did Holmes and Watson ever get into a fight? Holmes would probably collapse in the middle of a fight being a cocaine addict who spends most of his time sitting in the dark, smoking crack and playing the violin (is it the violin? I can't remember that well anymore). Watson is just a guy, an average man, a doctor and as I seem to remember, abhors violence. That movie was complete....nonsense. It is the most horrible thing Hollywood has ever done.
Just rarely does a physical fight ever come up in the stories. -

Quote:This is my "furred" girl. She's supposed to be half-Kryn (Gold Digger cat-like race...sort of...major spoilers here, but we eventually learn that the Kryn, Atlanteans, Elves and Trolls were all replaced by a race that used to serve a big-evil. Said race has since forgotten this and are, for all cultural intents: Kryn, Atlanteans, Elves and Trolls). Kryn are cattish, but without tails, so she doesn't have a tail:This thread makes me feel so bad.
My catgirls are usually just ears & tail. Sometimes, using Large Boots/Gloves (or Banded Gloves)...tight versions...to simulate fur covered paws.
I've never actually done a full fur covering the whole body toon (except in RP power swap with SG)! I almost feel...ashamed! Okay...not really. But...still...now i feel the need to make a fur all over!
Gave her human ears since she is half-human. She actually has the "monstrous fur" under the robe, but really sort of moot.
So my only "fur" looks like a gray-skinned human....

I remember the days when each tram station only went to one location each and most of the time it was better to walk through the tunnels.
I remember when we each only had one costume.
I remember when level 40 was the highest level you could reach.
I barely noticed ED.
I remember watching my brother tank Infernal and a room full of demons for 10 minutes plus post ED with an Invuln, before whiners complained and had Infernal and the demon-summoning altar nerfed.
I remember that herding is boring.
I remember that farming is boring.
I remember soloing every one of the 1-50 main storyline contacts' mission content up until hitting the archvillains....all on the same character.
I remember when PvP was new and shiny and still had an embarassingly loud player base given their embarassingly low populations.
I remember having a useful solo-person SG base before they cheapened costs.
I remember when there was no tailor and the only option to change your character's costume was to reroll.
I remember when the respec Trial was an actual challenge before incompetent whiners got it nerfed
I remember when spectrals phased, turned invisible and operated on a rabbit AI...until whiners complained and had them nerfed
I remember when Bone Daddy's had shadow maul until whiners complained and had them nerfed.
I remember dueling those Bone Daddies in the street with a Force Field/Dark and bouncing all over King's Row trying to take him out without letting him close
I remember when using Combat Jumping near a ceiling made you stick to the ceiling and let you manuever about along it like spiderman.
I remember finding out that Inspirations are the secret to getting past the stated balance.
I remember discovering that SOs are overpowered compared to the enemies we face. -
Quote:Actually, the extended storyline drawn out from radio plays and novels shows that "the Shadow" was not really Lamont Cranston, but a man who bore an uncanny resemblance to him and fought with him in WWI. He then became a master spy called "The Eagle" (which is where he acquired the self-replicating interconnected gems that he puts in his rings) and from there went to China to become said warlord and opium smuggler.I believe he is thinking of the 1994 movie adaptation of "The Shadow" where Lamont Cranston is depicted as a brutal warlord and opium smuggler who was reformed into a hero.
However, despite being a formerly very evil person, the Shadow is still depicted as a hero rather than an anti-hero.
He is partially motivated by self-interest (redemption) but is also definitely shown as being firmly interested in protecting people from evil.
Redeemed villains do not instantly mean anti-hero.
Anti-heroes are a poorly understood archetype and also misidentified more often than ADD.
In the post-Iron Age comics era, anybody with a trace of the grim or edgy gets labeled as an anti-hero. -
Quote:I am talking the Dark Knighthave you seem the first batman BEFOR the censorship law?
he was a brutal anti hero.
batman is coming back to its old roots with the dark knight.
the batman you saw during the 70 was not the real one.
it was the reconnected censored version for kiddo.
Dark does not equal anti-hero. Neither does brutal.
Achilles is far more brutal than any version of Batman, and he is not an Anti-Hero either.
