Yesterday, I was debuting a new heroine in Atlas on Freedom and the following happened:

<StrangerWhomIHaveNeverMet> "Your costume makes you look fat"
<Me> "I will be sure to go on a diet. Thank you for your considered and caring advice."
    /ignore.

    [/ QUOTE ]

huh? You ignored someone for calling your computer generated fictional character fat?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thin end of the wedge maybe? The person doing the ignoring might have had previous dealings with the other character. We have no way to tell.

The way I look at it, if you wouldn't walk up to a stranger in the street and make a comment, you shouldn't do it in a game either. The fact that in the street you're likely to get a black eye whereas in the game you'll just get ignored at worse, is no excuse.
  2. Roll an epic AT (or just another normal one) and start all over again...just like the rest of us alt-a-holics...
  3. [ QUOTE ]
people have always underestimated the point of having good accuracy in attacks.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My energy primary stalker has three (green) accuracy SO's in her AS and that attack misses more often than any other she has, it even misses more than the black wand which is saying something. It's so frustrating. At least it doesn't unhide when the AS misses now but it's still a nuisance having to sit around idle waiting for it and build up to recharge so it's possible to try again.

In a way I do agree, but can something that is fun not also have a material gain too?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sure, but I don't see the point of playing a game for "material gain", which is only monopoly money, if it is not fun, and the amount of fun is not proportional to the level of material gain.

    [/ QUOTE ]

To my way of thinking, the day the invention system went live, this became a "material" game. It's still possible to have fun obviously, otherwise we wouldn't be here but the material aspect of it can't be ignored.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
I see in the US post linked above, that it is only the mission owner who currently gets the merits in the version on test.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I hope that's a bug. If that's working as intended it'll turn this into a single player game overnight.

    "Want to team?"
"Maybe, what do I get out of it?"
    "Er, nothing"
    ...
  6. It's broken. Bit like my ISP, which shall, for legal reasons, remain nameless...

The forum will probably be back soon, unlike my ISP which is getting the boot as soon as it releases a MAC so I can swap to one that works...
  7. No no no no no, they're triggered by me logging out.

Judging by my success at actually seeing one...

what do I get instead of my Fluffies? Demented brainless balls of light that go boom?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I find them quite useful, they do a lot of damage. Long recharge on them though.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
I have never understood why someone would choose to be a blaster then go and take melee powers

    [/ QUOTE ]

A couple of melee powers can be really helpful, even if they are just something that stuns the annoying mob that insists on being in your face.

    Hami raids

    [ QUOTE ]
there are easier ways to get the same/better reward for your time now. So he sits in the hive now almost forgotten and ignored.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Pretty much like any other GM sadly. Once someone has a badge there's absolutely no point in taking on a GM.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
I joined 4 weeks before i4... it was great running a fire/fire tank... then came ED, aggro cap and people running away from burn ... my first toon was 733 hours to 50.... omg that's a long time!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Some mobs seem to run away from everything now, sometimes you only need to show your face and they're off. They really have gone overboard with that I think.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Now that's annoying. I take it that the Cadaver aggroed on you, and blew up, as they do.

    [/ QUOTE ]

One of the skulls took a potshot at the cadaver just before I held them all. I imagine the cadaver was muttering under its breath (do undead things breathe?) about killstealing heroes. If I'd seen it coming I could have blasted it away. Oh well, live and learn.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
and from what i've seen, the doors behave differently this year, last year it seemed to be the case you had a timer and the door had a timer, so you couldnt click the same door twice inside a certain time, thus you had people doing a circuit of doors.

this year i've found the doors dont seem to have that timer, you can click and get a treat and reclick immediately and get a trick (or treat if you are lucky!), thus negating the need for door hunting.

but people still do it despite not being a need to anymore.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They sre still on timers, a lot shorter than last year but I've not been able to click on a door and get anything but a message saying I couldn't enter for some time after the last click, treat or not.
  14. There I was in Kings Row on my new little controller. For the first time in living memory I've managed to get every single mob held in a stone cage then a cadaver wearing a dodgy looking backpack strolled up to them and blew them to pieces. I got 1 whole exp for each mob. How annoying is that?
  15. [ QUOTE ]
they're not intended to stay in combat toe-to-toe like Brutes, Tanks or Scrappers

    [/ QUOTE ]

Someone needs to remind the devs of that fact. Looking specifically at mayhem missions, hide doesn't exist anywhere on the map as far as longbow are concerned and it's none existent inside the bank once you've opened the safe. If you have a build that can't survive melee for a few minutes, you're next to useless on this type of mission.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Havin 7 stalkers as i do and 2 at lvl 50 i have been think this 4 a while and i am goin to build a Stalker without Assassin's Strike and see if i can get her up to 50. Any one else think im mad ?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why not just roam over to the heroes side and build a scrapper?

    Click And Run

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Easy fix. Give door mobs the same aggro control as ambushes; they only aggro on the team that clicks the door, unless you attack them. Add a bit of Clockwork pursuit code, and Robert is your mum's brother.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or make any debt the mobs cause be applied to the owner

    [/ QUOTE ]

I liked that idea initially but on second thoughts, it will just lead to people piling in to other peoples higher level mobs secure in the knowledge that someone else will get their debt. Don't forget, causing problems for other people is an art form, the lengths some sad gits will go to in order to achieve this never ceases to amaze me.
  18. Interestingly, my level 50's have been getting bucket loads of level 30 recipes when taking on these invasion mobs, whether teamed or not. While not one to look a gift horse in the mouth (they can always be sold), they are not what I was expecting a level 50 toon to get when defeating level 50 mobs.
  19. Just as well an invasion didn't start while you were doing it, the whole thing would have ground completely to a halt
  20. lol something very wrong there - bit more development needed maybe. Must admit I havan't tried them on anything but a lvl 50 toon but they're quite easy for even my AR/Dev blaster which is saying something.
  21. Ah, I'm still using XP. Not changed to Vista yet and don't intend to do so until MS stop supporting XP. Been on most of the morning, no invasions.
  22. Was a bit busy yesterday. There were two PI's running, 1 was as laggy as heck so I moved to 2, was fine there. Always worth checking if a second zone instance has been created, unless the rest of your team is in the first one, you frequently get better results in the second (or third!)
  23. [ QUOTE ]
I just chrashed due to those buggy new Nvidia drivers (well, they don't work well with CoX, that is)

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's odd. I updated my drivers few days ago, had no problems at all. Still few zombies though. A few jumped out of the ground at me yesterday morning, about half a dozen. I missed all the rest
  24. Not only Grandville, there are people SS'ing around clicking doors and having longs trails of mobs following them around. They always seem to zoom in on doors that lower level people are standing by. If you have pets they are going to attack leaving you as good as dead. Unfortunately this is turning into a griefers paradise.
  25. [ QUOTE ]

Have to say ToTing seems to be many more tricks than treats this year and we're only getting little Insps not the huge ones of the past.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I had a run of over 30 tricks in a row this morning followed by five treats in a row. It may all even out over the long term but that's a pretty lazy way of randomising if you ask me
