I have heard of other people being in similar situations such as yours. As a badge hunter I'm obviously interested in this.

I think my main badge hunter (Loth) is in almost the same exact situation Necrotech_Master is in. She used the respec token from the first hero respec trial years ago but has since held onto the last two. This would mean (apparently) that she could try for the 2nd and 3rd villain respecs and actually get the badges for them.

I would hope the Devs resolve this situation one way or the other ASAP. I'd hate to think my ability to get 3 badges rests on whether or not I chose to use certain respec tokens 5+ years ago.

Ideally they'd figure out a way to let anyone eventually get all 6 respec badges regardless if the related respec tokens have been used or not.

RP is Roleplaying. It means that you envision your character with a personality, background, likes and dislikes and interact with other players (and their characters) as the person you play. Meaning you do not just think about your character as a certain AT with those powerset and costume you chose, but as a living person, with reasons of being a villain or hero. Imagine playing Spiderman or any other character in the comics, or if you wanted to be a Batman like character... or any character.
RP'ing happens with other players that think like you do (if you roleplay) and you interact with them and you will create stories... just in game. Well that is the short gist of it.
I've been RPing to different degrees in different games for over 30 years.
It always strikes me odd when someone genuinely doesn't know what it is.

What Lady Arete said is good but I could simplify the idea even more: When actors in movies or TV are 'playing' a role they are, more or less, ROLEplaying that role with the other actors around them. What you as a player can do with your characters is not really all that different, except you are basically making it up on the spot as you go instead of rehearsing it beforehand.

Or here's another idea: Did you ever play "house" or "army" or "cops and robbers" when you were a kid? That was basically the kid version of roleplaying.

That said I see no reason why it couldn't happen like that.
  6. I have no problem with people thinking about "what if" scenarios based on established franchises. I just think Lucas has a big enough ego without hinting that his "creation" had anything to do with being the foundation of human life on Earth.

As a related FYI I've recently been soloing PI Mayhem missions to work on the Mayhem related badges for one of my alternate badgers. Starting with zero progress I got the Vandal badge during my fifth complete run of the Mayhem. When I say "complete" I mean I took the time to destroy every single pay phone, fire hydrant, etc. that was available to get during each run.

    Enjoy.

Congrats for making the 900+ mark.

Just out of curiosity what was causing you to be "stuck" at 899 for two weeks? I can understand there's a number of "relatively hard" to get badges (i.e. Master run badges, etc.) out there that are hard to accomplish without help. But I'd think (given the current total possible is up to 994 IIRC) that being able to inch up past 900 would've been relatively easy once you got to 899. Surely there was some badge out of the roughly hundred or so you needed that would've been vaguely quick and easy to get?

This is good news and thanks for the update.

I suppose if we couldn't have one program support both sites the next best thing was to have the Titan folks allow you to effectively "reverse-engineer" their Sentinel program for your use. It was cool of them to help you (and by extension us) like that. Why re-invent the wheel if you don't have to? If your version of Sentinel is more or less the equivalent of Titan's version then it won't really be a problem dealing with two different programs.

    Good luck to you...

You actually misunderstood what I was saying as far as who was getting "punished" by not having Double XP weekends. I really don't care about the frequency (or infrequency) of when they've been run in the past.

My point was this: if people have been abusing various ways (whether they are considered exploits or not) for Power Leveling large amounts of XP quickly for years then how could the latest AE thing in particular be a specific reason to justify a Double XP weekend moratorium? Bottomline the Devs seem to be technically "punishing" everyone for the actions of a handful of AE farmers they can't seem to control.

Also I would argue that the Double XP weekends aren't really just a tool the Devs use to encourage people to play during downtimes. They've run Double XP weekends during times when other new updates/Issues had already bolstered interest in this game.

I'm not complaining that I want another Double XP ASAP. I was simply pointing out the silliness of the idea that we should not get a Double XP weekend until the latest AE exploit is fixed. If the Devs now want to avoid giving us another Double XP weekend until all the applicable exploits are fixed then we might as well resign ourselves to never seeing one run again.

I'm sure whether Merle chose to be a "zombie wrangler" leading them to the camp or not will be explained pretty quickly. I don't have any problem with the idea of Merle becoming an antagonist "throughout this season" as either a human or a zombie but since this season only has two more episodes I think his purpose for the story is going to play out pretty soon regardless.

Many chastity belts in real life were basically "metal thongs" but obviously their purpose was meant to be anything other than "sexy" or comfortable to wear. I suppose we'll find out if what her character is wearing is meant to be a chastity belt or a variation of the standard "chainmail bikini" all medieval warrior women normally wear. I suppose either explaination could be funny as far as this movie goes.

    Great point I hadn't considered.
I agree that'd be a "possible" way for him to have accomplished something like this.

I'm still just not buying the idea that he would put that much thought and effort into a plot for "revenge" like that. It's quite likely that Merle is now insane after his ordeal and he could very well want to kill everyone in the camp. But he just seems more like the type who'd grab a machete and try to personally hack people apart instead of being a "zombie wrangler" willing to lure a horde of zombies to the camp.

Actually what seems a bit more likely is that after Merle escaped the building he eventually got caught by the zombies and they zombied him. But because he had such an insane hated/drive against the campers he somehow managed to retain that motivation after death. That overriding lust for revenge allowed him to direct a horde of zombies to follow him to the camp. Just because we didn't see him during the chaos of the attack doesn't mean he's not among the zombies that were attacking the camp.

Yeah I just glossed over the idea that they ran like 10 miles back to camp apparently without trying to find another vehicle. Based on the passage of time we saw between it being afternoon and nighttime and how far they've shown the city buildings being from the camp it's vaguely conceivable they could have walked/jogged back to camp in say 4-6 hours.

And the prospect of all that fresh fish probably led to a party atmosphere that broke down all logic. I accepted it as teaching the viewers (and our survivors) to never let our tense awareness drop.

Plus it whittled down the number of characters we had to pretend to be concerned about, and gave us our first direct experience of a moment of personal loss out of the collapse - which I thought was interesting given how far we are into things.
Well regardless of how "sloppy" it was we pretty much needed an attack like that to remind the audience about the general danger everyone is in. You can't really have a good Zombie Apocalypse without having sympathetic characters dying on a regular basis.

Well you have to figure a show like this has to hedge its bets season to season. Every "season finale" could very easily have to serve as a "series finale" if it doesn't get renewed for next season.

Still this episode was pretty awesome and I'm hoping it'll continue. I thought the idea that the phrase "Rusty Venture" was not only slang for a sexual scenario but it was a term that pretty much everyone had a different definition for was priceless.

Well since this remark was probably directed at me as much as anyone I guess I'll jump in with a few trivial nitpicks for this latest episode:

    1) I'm glad they took the time to "explain" what Merle probably did with the cutting off his hand scenario, right down to the prediction I made that he used his belt as a tourniquet to keep from bleeding to death. That cleared up most of the "it makes no sense" problem I had with episode #3. The only minor remaining nit I had is that apparently there was another doorway up to the roof that Merle used to get down. I guess we're suppose to assume he was lucky the zombies only tried to get to him via the chained door when he was cuffed and not try the other unchained way.

    2) I just didn't buy that they jumped to the assumption that Merle was the one who found the moving van and drove away with it. Atlanta is a pretty big city and Merle could have stumbled off in any direction after he cut his hand off. The idea that he was the one to find and take that specific van seemed a bit contrived. I also don't give any "buy in" to the speculation that Merle would've loaded up the van with zombies to use them for "revenge" against the camp. Sure Merle might want to seek some revenge, but I doubt he'd round up some zombies to help him with that. I'm willing to wait to have the whole Merle deal better explained in a future episode.

    3) While it's too bad the camp got attacked (and it's an interesting point to consider that there were too many zombies there at once to just be considered a "random" attack) it really was their own fault they got overrun. They already knew one zombie had stumbled into their campsite back in episode #3 - they should have been far more careful at that point.

I actually had very little trouble with the rest of the episode. In fact this episode was probably the best one since the first one for me. We pretty much knew something bad was going to happen to Amy at the end because they were hyping up that whole "got to wrap the birthday present" thing for her which seemed too nice and happy for it to end well. Here's looking forward to next episode.

P.S. I only bother to spend this much effort analyzing shows I actually "enjoy" watching. If I thought this show was complete crap I wouldn't be thinking of ways it could have been even better.

I did say "re-imagined" version of Blackadder. At best this will probably be a more Americanized "Krod Mandoon" version of it.
And the Princess Bride elements will likely be a bit more Mel Brooks like, but that certainly won't make it unentertaining.

Obviously it's the Devs' decision. I just can't see a viable argument for why getting "too much" XP for 2 days (via any method) would be game-breaking. There are people out there who can PL characters from levels 1 to 50 in a few days WITHOUT AE and they've been able to do that for years. Who are the Devs actually punishing with this moratorium on the Double XP weekends?

I just think it's sad all thing considered...

Sure I'd like to see it fixed too ASAP. But until then the idea that it should be the main reason to suspend Double XP weekends is laughable on the face of it. *shrugs*

I think the point was more, people are getting way more XP with AE, than they would with double XP.

And yes, you could get in 4 days what you could get in 2 days, but during double xp weekends, at least from what I notice, there are even MORE teams going on, which are more heavily looking for others to join their teams.
Whatever the details the general concept of not having a Double XP weekend in order to "prevent" people from getting "too much" XP for two days is fundamentally silly.

Think of it this way: At best the only thing that 2 days of 2x XP could do for ANYONE (whether they are exploiting some kind of AE trick or not) is allow them to do in 2 days what ANYONE could normally do in 4 days. Sure it's cheesy that anyone could be taking advantage of an AE exploit regardless. But if those people are doing that anyway what would it really matter if they get to do it "faster" for 2 days? Why should everyone get screwed out of the chance for a Double XP weekend just to "indirectly punish" a few people exploiting the game?

Can't see the comparison to Blackadder? It couldn't be more clear to me.

It's probably closest to the first season of Blackadder. There you had the two Princes, the one was the good looking/smart/brave/well-liked one and then you had Blackadder, who was the one the King and others thought was a silly, self-important loafer. This seems more or less the same relationship we see between Fabious and Thadeous in this movie. Then of course you see Thadeous have his "dogsbody" servant Courtney who seems like a perfect analog to Blackadder's Baldrick.

Basically what little we could see in this trailer it seems like the character of Thadeous is just a "re-imagined" version of Blackadder. I'm looking forward to seeing more of it.
