Quote:Yes, I'm aware that, currently, you can only be given one contact per story. However, the post I quoted was suggesting that all contacts in a zone be automatically added to a character's contact list upon entering a zone for the first time. So, unless there's a system in place to ensure that four contacts don't simultaneously give you the exact same mission, then automatically unlocking every contact in a zone the first time you enter it would be a bad idea. You make it sound like you could end up running that arc again and again. You can only be given ONE of those contacts. You can only have one contact per origin for each 'level band' (i.e. 10-15, 15-20, etc).
Additionally, you can have contacts outside the origin structure (like the ones in Faultline, Striga, RWZ, etc, etc). -
Quote:That wouldn't be a good idea, given that there are a lot of duplicate contacts with the exact the same missions. The Vahzilok Plague, for example, is available from four different contacts. I don't know about you, but I've never been super eager to fight techno-zombies in sewers. They should then also give everyone all the contacts a zone has to offer the first time they arrive there.

Quote:Generally, a model is something that comes pre-assembled, whereas what you have pictured is a kit, which requires assembly.Ah, we're talking about two different things, then. When you say "model" to me, this is what comes to mind.
What you're talking about wouldn't be worth the time of a manufacturer or Paragon Studios. Too expensive, and likely not enough sales. Something like that you'd likely have to have custom made, and might cost even more than $1000 (maybe...guessing in the wind as I have no idea what such people would charge).
And $20 is about all I'D pay. Not saying that would be a proper price point. I'm not interested enough to pay big bucks for it. -
Quote:And then you've got the supers who have simply trained themselves to a level that lets them stand toe to toe with demons, robots, and all sorts of superpowered nasties. Can't really test for them (unless you tested them by seeing if they can dodge bullets, I suppose).A "No Supers" clause would be hard to enforce.
Gotta DNA test all the atheletes for Mutations, scan them for cybernetics, blood/urine test them for Super Serums (okay, already done), cast Detect Magic on all of them. Then check on all of the coaches and staff.
You can't have a Gravity Controller or a Speed Boost caster in range, so then you gotta keep the crowd away. -
Recluse wouldn't have lost in the first place, he would've filled his team with ringers and replaced all the refs and officials with pro-Arachnos clones.

Katanas could use some love too.

The thread title got me longing for SimCity 5. I think I'll go sit in the corner and be disappointed for a while

My brute is more amoral than anything. She's a mercenary, so she'll work for whoever pays. The bad guys seem to outsource their villainy more, so...

Quote:While I don't hate Skyway, it does feel really weird. In the game lore, Skyway was set up as the transportation hub of the city, but it ultimately failed. Why did it fail? Because all of the freeways loop back around on each other and ultimately lead nowhere. In a way, Skyway is the ultimate symbol of bureaucracy: leading everywhere and nowhere at the same time.Another poster didn't like Skyway - I must respectfully disagree. Skyway is my favorite zone. Having multiple levels with things happening on them is great, and makes you look up. Of course, I'm from Seattle where the freeways look much like that.
It would be nice if at least some attempt were made to have the freeways lead off into other zones, even if they're closed dute to Rikti War damage or something. -
I desire her trenchcoat for my female characters. The top would also be nice, but mainly I desire the trenchcoat.

Perhaps, but I think we both know that's not going to happen any time soon, if ever. A tram extension is the simplest and most effective solution to the problem of IP's length.
-
I think it would still be easier and simpler to just add a south IP tram station. Terra Volta looks like it would have to be almost completely rebuilt to fit the scale it occupies on the IP map.
-
Which is why I consider the war walls around Terra Volta more of a containment measure than a defense against the various villain groups. If a group were to ever successfully destroy the reactor, the walls would at least help contain the fallout and buy time for emergency procedures.
-
Quote:I think a better solution would be to run a green line tram extension to the southern end of the zone, then rename each station to Independence Port North/South. It would be much less work and it would go a long way toward improving the accessibility of the zone. That's why I suggested shortening it by merging the northern third of the zone with Terra Volta, so that it becoems more like the two-in-one zone set up of Faultline.
Plus, continuity wise, Terra Volta is under near constant attack. It really should be kept separate by the war walls. -
Oh good, Daleks. The enemy whose voice you feel in your testicles.

Quote:Oh the Letter Sender is creepy as hell, and I wouldn't trust him/her anymore than I would the Menders. The Sender just is as cryptic as the Menders, just as stingy with information, and is just as manipulative. Plus, all of the letters have a "side with me or else" undercurrent, cloaked in the illusion of a free choice between the Menders and the Sender when the time comes. The only thing I don't see is anyone questioning the "mysterious writer".
The main thing I'm curious about in this whole Coming Storm affair is whether we'll have a choice between siding with the Menders and the Sender, or whether we'll be joining the Sender by default. -
Quote:Ah, that was it. I guess I'd just assumed that the Aspect was stolen from Ouroboros since the Midnighters are trying pretty hard to keep the Menders out of the Cimerora business. It does raise the question of where they got the Aspect, and why the Menders are allowing its use when they could, presumably, cut it off from the main Pillar. I would guess that the Menders can keep track of how the Midnighters' Aspect is being used and who is using it, and that fits into their plans somehow. From Montague's Fedex mission sending you to Cimerora at 35:
To get to Cimerora, we're going to, er, 'bypass' Ouroboros. I'd prefer them not to be involved in this particular mission. I've procured an Aspect of the Pillar myself.
Ashley's equivalent for villains has exactly the same language:
To get to Cimerora, we're going to 'bypass' Ouroboros. We'd prefer them not to be involved in this particular mission.
We've procured an Aspect of the Pillar.
Definite hint they're keeping this a secret from Mender Silos, but it doesn't specify how exactly they got their magic crystal. Note that it is an Aspect of the Pillar, the Pillar itself being the giant one in the middle of the Ouroboros citadel, so they are at the very least doing the mystical time-travel equivalent of borrowing your neighbour's Wi-Fi access. -
Quote:Hmm...I thought I read somewhere that they'd stolen their aspect of the Pillar from Ouroboros. Can't find it in the wiki anywhere, though, so it's distinctly possible that I'm wrong. My first guess would be from the same place that the Menders got theirs from. The I11 trailer has Mender Silos saying there are 11 methods of time travel, and the Pillar of Ice and Flame is just one of them. Considering Silos claims to be from merely 1,000,000 years in the future and the Pillar of Ice and Flame is supposed to be from the end of the universe, Silos would have to have use some other method of time travel to retrieve the Pillar in the first place. Why couldn't the Midnighters do the same?

Quote:The Cimerora letter is the creepiest, since it's there to tell you that the Letter Sender can find you anywhere/when even if you're not using Ouroboros' main Pillar. There's also the implication that the Sender thinks you were using the Midnight Squad's crystal to time travel and somehow evade him/her.I didn't see Cimerora mentioned. I assume that Cimerora also plays a part in this, as the letter sender planted a letter there as well.
And we have yet to see who the master of Romulus is.....
EDIT: Saw a small mention. Still, can't overlook how Cimerora ties into this.
It also poses the question of how the Midnight Squad got their crystal away from Ouroboros, but the main point is that the letter sender will always be able to find you. -
Quote:I don't know. Mender Lazarus slips at one point and says 'invasion' instead of 'coming storm,' and the Shivans are known to be scouts for whatever the 'Coming Storm' is (it is a Shivan meteor that starts the whole event). So whatever is going to go down, it involves a tangible hostile invasion force.Considering Nemesis' prediliction for time-travel, the nature of Ouroboros, and the tone of the letters from the mysterious Letter Sender, I like to ponder the prospect of the Coming Storm being a Time-Storm. Danger from all points in time coming together in the present-day Paragon / Rogue Isles to cause chaos.
