Paragon City Scale Models...

Curious would you like and... how much do you think you would pay for a

Scale models of paragon city, rogue isles, and/or pratoria?

I would like it, but it's existence would be determined solely by money issues.

Paragon Studios isn't set up to do such things, so they'd have to find some manufacturer to do it under a licensing agreement. Said manufacturer would have to decide whether on not to do it based on how much the agreement costs and how well they think it would sell. It might be tough. We're a popular game, but would there be enough draw from the general public to make it worth it to them?

I think they might be neat, but I'd probably only want to pay $10-20 at the most. But then, I'm not in the "model" demographic.

A scale model of all of Paragon City for $20? you are either thinking super small or in separate pieces... I'd assume a high quality model of all the zones... I would think something like that would be in the rang of $1000, but I don't know much about models either... I just think it would be cool...

I was thinking about trying to make a lego version...but no possible way i could do that.

Ah, we're talking about two different things, then. When you say "model" to me, this is what comes to mind.

What you're talking about wouldn't be worth the time of a manufacturer or Paragon Studios. Too expensive, and likely not enough sales. Something like that you'd likely have to have custom made, and might cost even more than $1000 (maybe...guessing in the wind as I have no idea what such people would charge).

And $20 is about all I'D pay. Not saying that would be a proper price point. I'm not interested enough to pay big bucks for it.

Generally, a model is something that comes pre-assembled, whereas what you have pictured is a kit, which requires assembly.

Goodbye, I guess.

Oh, I know the difference, it's just that I'm old and if you say "model" to most people my age, they're going to think "kit". Buying pre-assembled models was something that came later.

What are you talking about?

What do you want, a model train layout or something? A "scale model" of the city/isles? A map?

I would pay absolutely nothing for it, because it would either be so small as to be pointless or too large and unwieldy to do anything with. And the individual building or block architecture isn't all that interesting.

Go look up card modeling. Print out the textures. Make your own.

Now, if you were looking at dioramas or vignettes with one or more characters, then it's a *maybe,* and it would depend on scale, materials and quality. Anything from McFarlane-ish $10-$15 to decent-quality-figurine $50ish. Lower cost if unpainted resin, of course, and I can hit Verlinden and the like for appropriate scenery if desired.

But a "model of the city?" Utterly worthless to me.

This.

My story arcs: #2370- Noah Reborn, #18672- The Clockwork War, #31490- Easy Money

Sartre once said, "Hell is other people." What does that make an MMO?

Yeah, I must be one of the old ones, because "model" to me implies that you put it together yourself. In my day, we already had a word for a model that came preassembled -- we called it a "statue."

Same.
Or "toy." Most of the preassembled ones I can think of are die-cast and have lousy detail compared to a kit.

Unfortunately, even a single zone of the appropriate scale would be extravagantly expensive, but some of them would make AWESOME terrain for 40K/Heroclix/D&D games.

But wouldn't you like to put it on a table in front of you, place your hands on your hips, say "soon, very soon, all this will be mine!" and then throw your head back and laugh in an evil way?

I was just convinced of the whole thing instantaneously.

I remember a while back, someone on the screenshots and art forum was making a model of Grandville in some FPS game with lots of mods available. Not exactly on topic, but it reminded me of it. Not sure if they ever finished it though.

I've made a 3D model of the Atlas Plaza area for my own secret purposes

No, not really. The taxes on owning a city are a bit high for my taste.

A model of a Paragon City scale? Is that a scale that says "Granite Tank" at the top end and "Turn Off Hover" at the bottom?
