I'll be playing the game and actually paying more attention to Help and PinnBadges than normal.

why do people ask questions they obviously know the answer to in an attempt to try and potray something as confusing. Obviously it wasn't that confusing...you understood it
[/ QUOTE ]
Because it's your job as a poster to explain your idea adequately, and you didn't. Most of the respondants so far have had to guess what you're talking about, because you assume people know what you meant.
In any case, a fully level-less game is not a bad idea in itself, but only when the game is designed as such from the ground up. If you try to take a game that is 5+ years out from launch and make such a radical change, you will more than likely fail. It's a cinch to assume that most people playing now are comfortable with the system as is, and changing it radically will probably piss them off more than make them happier.
SWG started as a level-less game and they switched it (among with many other things) several years in, and it killed the game's community and population. Doing the reverse is just as bad an idea. -

My friend was trying to download for his Mac and said the game required Intel Processor only for that version. Is this true?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes. Older Macs will not run CoH. -

Anyone know a lot about message boards? Why are we changing? I assume because you either have a lot more access or perhaps less upkeep. Can anyone post in some layman terms the differences between the board softwares?
Does this mean the star system is going away?
[/ QUOTE ]
Why are we changing?
Because this forum software is 5 years old. It is also terribly overburdened for the amount of people we have using it (in terms of what it was designed to handle). There's a reason we had to have periodic purges, the database structure of the forums would break if not.
What are some differences?
Newer software allows better moderation tools No more mass deletions when one post needs to be pruned. No more periodic name changing to avoid/confuse your past posting history. We will be able to have a more elaborate forum structure (forums with subforums for special topic areas) without getting bogged down in one huge page with a ton of sections. All of this will happen with a much lower server load when it comes to building pages people request, or adding new material. Additionally, it will look a lot better, and have more user options when it comes to how things are displayed. -
There are 4-5 spots in the lake that she wanders around/near. She does spawn pretty often, and she is NOT part of the bulletin message "Unusual monster activity in Croatoa".
She will just be there, and if you're above the levels for the zone, she's going to appear gray. -

Scrappers start hitting anything that moves.
Blasters start hitting anything that moves.

If my Controller or Dominator gets there first, they won't be moving. What happens then? -
Try again, I think servers went down for maintenance this morning. I can get to character select but the Store functions are offline. Sometimes it takes time to get everything up and running again.
If that isn't working for you, head to this page:
http://help.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/ncsoft.cf...CZwX3BhZ2U9MQ!!
Go to My Stuff, and set up your support account. Technical Support will help you, you just have to be clear and give them useful information. Don't get hung up on how much you've paid, how you've never got to play. Just explain the problem and be ready to give them information about your computer and internet connection. -

Asking which contact it is, o....kaaaaaay, still understandable, but that's pushing it a touch.
[/ QUOTE ]
Makes sense for a Warshade in the 20s but not in the 40s. If I were playing mine again, I would definitely not join any team facing Banished Pantheon or Circle of Thorns (when Spectrals are super common in the spawn mix).
Was the person overdoing it? Yes. Is it possible to figure out why they were asking each question? Also yes. -
I do that as well. It's a bit of me planning out loud, but it also lets the team lead start looking for someone else if they're that kind of lead who searches and plays.
I do that by my own choice, but I don't really hold it against someone who leaves without a word.
The people that bother me are the ones that feel a need to make some kind of pissy comment on their way out the door. That's the kind of behavior I consider rude. -

How is not having to have to deal with Kalinda or Burke "all screwed up"?
I would pay cold hard cash for the ability to never have those two on my contact list.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not just that - but if someone talks to H.T. or has any missions from in there, then ports out, they CANNOT get rid of any of them.
[/ QUOTE ]There is one way it might be possible. If you had the door mission, you might be able to use the mission teleport power to get to it. I don't know if it works, but it might.
[/ QUOTE ]
It used to, until they fixed it in the same way they blocked off level limited zones like RWZ and the Shadow Shards. The first week (probably less if memory serves) of the Mission porter on Live was rampant with people getting into places they wouldn't normally be able to go. -
[ QUOTE ]
Then I13 introduced merits. Now, story arcs were good for earning merits in addition to regular drops. But only for the mission holder. The rolling PUG running whatever mish was closest has since become a rarity, as most (understandibly) would rather progress towards a reward for themselve rather than others.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nice version of revisionist history. The change goes back much farther and has nothing to do with any sort of "loot"
People don't want to travel. They don't like doing regular arcs (particularly hero side) because scanner missions are always in the same zone.
Saying the change is the fault of merits is kind of silly. -

RL came up=still online doing mission.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or it means leaving your character in the mission instance while you're busy doing any number of RL things, but don't feel like logging out or don't have time.
Simple fact is, don't make assumptions just because you /friend someone and see them logged in. Unless you see them broadcasting LFT or in the market or what have you, it's really none of your business what they decide to do with their time instead of team with you. If you have a bad experience with them, /playernote them and move on. Don't come whining about it here (same goes for the original poster). -
BaB said in the thread that the list on the page is just the list of things already done and ready to go, not things they haven't been able to finish yet. He's confirmed that they're working to get Traps/Devices done before launch, and probably several other sets too.
Since the structure is now in place, doing more is going to be relatively easy. -
I always thought it was a clip from this show

[Broadcast] Anyone want to start a HAMI RAID? There are a lot of 50's online right now.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is where you failed. This kind of statement puts you firmly in the category of Picnic Raider, and thus not to be taken seriously, especially if you're not a known successful raid leader on your server.
When I say Picnic Raid I mean the rough equivalent is something like:
"Hey let's go have a picnic! I'll bring the potato salad!"
"Hey let's go raid Hami! I want an HO!"
Even in games with a solid raiding culture, there is very rarely anything like a fully PuG raid that turns out successfully. You have to take the time to plan, you have to build up some buzz, you have to get your core people knowledgeable and familiar both with the plan and each other before you try to fill out the rest of the raid with people off the street.
IF you had a group of SG friends, and IF you knew handful of people who were knowledgeable raiders to lead teams, and IF you knew a bunch of them were looking for something to do, THEN you might have had a reasonable expectation of pulling together enough people to fill out your raid.
As it is, if your server doesn't raid regularly, you need to do the planning to compensate for the rookie factor. The more people that don't know what's going on, the longer your raid takes, period.
H_B can attest when we tested the new raid in closed beta, it took forever, even with experienced raiders. That was because we were all learning our timing. If/until you have several people all familiar with the system and comfortable leading their teams, then you are one person trying to explain the plan and nuances of each role to 30+ others. That doesn't work well.
I wouldn't have gone on your raid. I wouldn't have believed any time estimate you gave shorter than 4 hours. I wouldn't even consider tagging along unless you honestly said you had most of the people you needed and just wanted fillers.
Hami Raids aren't hard, but don't think that means they're easy. Don't blame the AE for that either. It's a community of people who are mostly unwilling to put in even the minimum of planning and effort to learn the raid that makes Hami Raiding as uncommon as it is. Unplanned raids lead to failed raids. Failed Raids lead to people unwilling to raid in the future. People unwilling to raid in the future means you have little chance of succeeding in a PuG raid. -

Most of the time, accounts become "hacked" when the person downloads an addon or some other kind of assistance program (Hero Stats being the closest analog we have) and a keylogger is attached to it.
Only download these types of programs from reputable sites, if you download them at all. Your chances of getting "hacked" will plummet.
[/ QUOTE ]
You wrote this poorly. OTHER GAMES get hacked that way, not this one. And the implication in your sentence is that Hero Stats isn't a reputable progam (it is). -
[ QUOTE ]
No. Don't tell me to ditch my mains that I've played for years and sunk billions of Inf into, and play new ones. That is just ignorant.
[/ QUOTE ]
Then stop telling us you won't pay for a service that people who do value their 50s use to get off servers they don't want to play on anymore. That is just ignorant.
You're trying to justify getting for free something that has always been a pay-for service, is a pay-for service in every game I can think of, and your only justifications for such are things every player who MAKES THE CHOICE to play on that server has to face.
If they're that valuable to you, pay to move them. It's simple. -
If I were on a server I "hated" I would pay to move my favorites and leave, or just start playing elsewhere with new characters. Why wait for an offer you can be 99% sure won't happen.
-
The number of machines you have the client loaded on has no effect on how many accounts you have/ can get. Just purchase an activation code either from the online store or through physical purchase, then either add it to your existing NCSoft Master account (if you are paying for it with the same card) or start a new Master account for your son's copy.

I just got done fighting a Nerva Spectral Demon (minion) with my Mace/Shield Brute. Level 31 just like me. It had approx 300 hit points, and when I got it down to about 25% it used Dark Extraction (I think that's the name) it's heal. It healed for 227 hp bringing it back to nearly full. That seemed larger than I remember, and it was also a lot more than the damage it dealt. It also used the power again about 20 Seconds later after I hit it a few more times.
My numbers are approximations, but in effect, it took me almost 5 minutes to kill it and I had to aggro another critter and gain more Fury to do it. It's not anything like I'm used to fighting those critters.
Is this a known issue or has it been observed elsewhere? This was a mission on Live not in the MA. -

So shiny and after he/she typed in all that bio information too.

You seem to have forgotten people can copy/paste now Taking the word "ripoff" to a whole new level. I googled for half the first sentence in quotation and found the entire passage nearly verbatim. -
You should try my MA arc....

I wonder how long until someone posts "Will my post count transfer too?"
[/ QUOTE ]Two posts above you (more or less).
[/ QUOTE ]
Let it be noted that I didn't ask if our post count will be transferred over or not. I actually do NOT want to have the post count shown and I wouldn't be totally against the reg. date not showing either. Too many people have 'ego' battles because of both of those (less of the reg. date though from what I've seen).
[/ QUOTE ]
And I'll say to you the same thing I always say when someone attempts to make this point. Show me the money. I never see anyone crowing about their postcount in any serious manner. Anyone with a long posting history knows how meaningless it is. However far more often are people who assume the worst from people with high post counts and fly off the handle and use it as a straw man.
I don't care if we keep them or not. I like looking at the numbers from time to time to get an idea of how active some of my favorites are, but if they were gone I wouldn't notice other than to pour out a sip of my fruit smoothie to wave goodbye.
If people really think post count numbers are the source of serious forum problems, I recommend they need to reassess what they're getting from the threads they read, because it's not that big a deal either way.
