  1. One thing worth seriously considering if you go for Claws/Sr is getting Aid Self from the Medicine pool. Both Dm/Sr and Claw/Inv have self heals of one form or another whereas Claw/Sr has none. With Soloing, self sufficiency is paramount and the ability to heal yourself when you have no Healing Insps is an important part of this.
  2. Claws/Regen is very effective soloing. You'll love Focus when it arrives at 18. Claws also works pretty well in teams as it has some good AoE/Cone attacks available later in the set.

FireKitty posted a handy Regen guide with an example build for Claws/Regen here-> Clicky!
  3. If you plan to solo alot or take up the role of "Boss Slayer" in a team then Broadsword, Katana or Martial Arts may be more suitable to your needs as they usually provide better single target and single hit damage than Spines or Claws (although Claws can provide a blistering attack rate).

Out of curiousity, what power combinations have you tried Ezzo_?
  4. [ QUOTE ]
Oh I can manage it with my /SR and my /Inv scrapper full time with the 3 endrdx, I was just wondering if I could go with let's say just 2 endrdx on a regen

    [/ QUOTE ]

I suppose, when I9 arrives, you might be able to get away with a pair of level 45/50 EndRed IOs with a Regen Scrapper. It may even be that, if you can find the right invention sets, the drain of FA with be somewhat negated by +Recovery effects.
  5. Yeah, 3 EndRed and 3 AccBuff. Even with Stamina and Quick Recovery stacked you'll still find FA has a small but noticable effect on your blue bar.
  6. After taking a Bs/Regen to 50 I'm pretty certain that 2 Acc SOs are needed for Bs as its attacks are slow moving and missing can be painful (see, no missing the recharge rate ). Quickness is handy for speeding things up, it's not anywhere near a substitute for Hasten but the drop in performance doesn't cause any problems in my opinion.
Even with 3 EndRed SOs Focused Accuracy still puts a significant drain on End so it's better used when facing AV/EB/GMs (or in PvP) rather than constantly.
The 5% Acc bonus Bs has isn't any substitute for an SO (5% or 33%? No contest really).

You're right on Practiced Brawler, it should have 2 Recharge and 1 EndRed in the post-21 build to 50 as SO are used from 22 onwards. I neglected to correct it in the build I posted.
  7. I found that staging the development of Bs/Sr from 1-21 and then 22-50 seems to help and you will need the extra EndRed slotting before Stamina is fully slotted.
Here's the build and stages I've been using for my one.

    Dark/Invun

    [ QUOTE ]
    How's the end drain tho?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Well Dark Melee is pretty End hungry so you'll be slotting EndReds in everything until you get Stamina. Dark Consumption would probably be handy as a back up.
  9. Weaknesses aside it's a safe bet that 7 +3 anyfactions and their boss will turn pretty much any scrapper into a sticky shade of red on the pavement.
It was a daft example, nuff said.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
i have 2 lvl 50 Katana/Invul scrappers and when you go up against a mob of 7 +3 arachnos with a night widow boss they really are squishy mate...

    [/ QUOTE ]
What kind of example is that?? Of course you'd get handed your head on a platter for stupidly picking a fight with that kind of opposition! I doubt any Scrapper (or Tanker for that matter) could survive that fight without a massive amount of blind luck and big green pills.
Why not say they can be one shotted by Hami so they're squishy, it carries about as much weight.
  11. Yup I've seen Bou' in action, noubt squishy about her.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
DM looks more and more attractive, thx for the tips !

On a differente note, are any of the 3 robotic attacks worth taking?

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you're 'Bots/Dark then you'll probably be to busy debuffing to bother with an attack. However if you do have the time to spare then I can recommend the Pulse Rifle Burst, it's a handy single target blast that does good consistent damage right through the game and has a regular knockback effect. I find it very handy for brushing the odd melee minion or Lt off my robots and for quickly finishing off targets. At lower levels it is potent enough to substantially supplement the damage of your henchmen.
Slot with 1 Acc and 3 Dam.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
Id rather have recharge reducers in there, you need fury b4 damage.

    fury 200% damge boost
    2 enhancements (SO's) 60%

    [/ QUOTE ]
Have to agree here. Fury building and maintenance should be your first concern, damage slotting is something to think about once you have your Fury and any initial Endurance issues sorted out.
  14. Dreck is nothing, he hasn't even discovered Slood yet.

    /hipocrisy_on
Let's keep it nice and civil please. You've been doing well with the well explained numbers beating the flawed hyperbole.
    /hipocrisy_off
  15. Not really, you're not taking into account how the sets work.

Energy Melee = Single Target high intensity attacks. Hit, splat, next target, hit, splat, rince and repeat.
Fire Melee = DoT attacks and a core of moderate intensity AoE attacks.
Fire melee may do alot of damage but it comes in smaller packets and it will take time for the DoT portion to take it's toll.
An AoE aura like Death Shroud supplements the damage of Fire Melee quite nicely (especially with 80+ Fury) with the likes of Fire Sword finishing off the stragglers.
  16. You're over exaggerating the End use of DA, with careful slotting it's not going to be that much of an issue. Likewise it was stated that this toon was intended for team use and with all the */Rad and */Kin Corruptors kicking around it's likely he'll get a recovery buff from a team member.

Also as he's running a Fire/Dark so "Flying" through mobs with Energy Melee is effectively irrelevent.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
I never just kill one target at a time, I tend to kill about 10. 4 x10 = 40 seconds. My 20 seconds sounds fairly good (though am damn sure the attacks animate faster than that)

Only thing left standing after my AoEs are bosses, and one ST attack will defeat them.

Of course if you want to fight ever foe one at a time its down to you. I'd rather defeat the whole group with 5 or 6 clicks

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree fully with this post. Even with my Dm/Fa Brute this stands as fact.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Hmm, I don't think this is quite true - as far as I know for any damage aura it's only the first hit on a mob which generates Fury.

[/ QUOTE ]If the difference in fury gain my brute sees when Blazing Aura is on is anything to go by then I'm pretty sure it has more of a contribution than just the initial hit.
  19. Another big winner for Death Shroud is the effect it has on Fury. Each hit by the Shroud results in extra Fury whereas Total Focus is a big, slow, lumbering attack that allows fury to drain away while you wait for it to finish the animation. So fancy though Total Focus may be it's pants for Fury conservation.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
    Surely... 8 fire/fire tanks...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Would be the wrong AT. This being a scrapper thread.
  21. Bs/Dark would be pretty End heavy add to the mountain of toggles the need to get Acrobatics so you stay on your feet and you have no blue bar worth considering useful.
Your opponents might well go to pieces quickly but your End may go faster.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
I know. My point is it makes little difference. It's not a bad thing. It just doesn't help enough to make a difference to your slotting.
This is unlike say the 15% accuracy bonus on Archery which is enough to be able to hit as though you are were 1 level higher, so you can 1) Avoid having a second ACC SO or 2) Not have any Accuracies at all if you can rely on a moderate to hit buff or defence debuff on your enemies.

    [/ QUOTE ]
First of all I'm not saying that 5% bonus would substitute for an SO in any way.
Secondly, in my experience with Scrapper primaries that 5% goes a long way during the early levels especially when you face -acc types like Skulls bosses and CoT Spectral Daemons. Early days in a scrappers solo career are really focused on a race against time with offence making up the lions share of any defence a secondary set can supplement. Missing on a single attack can be costly, missing on two or three can be fatal as it all costs time and time is you health being wittled away. I'd rather overcompensate in general than undercompensate and know that the likes of Spectral Daemon Lords can debuff me to the point where I'm flailing blindly while getting torn to shreds.
  23. If you can get regular (and reliable) teams then go for SR (and invest in the medicine pool for the self heal just for soloing). Elude is the big kicker that really leaves Regen behind (assuming you can wait until 38 for it).
If, however, you plan to solo more than team then Regen is probably a better choice as it is more self sufficient although it will feel squishy until you get Integration at 16.
Make sure you 2-slot for accuracy on your attacks, Claws doesn't get the 5% Acc bonus that Broadsword, Katana and Martial Arts have so any accuracy buff you can get is a good thing even after you get Follow Up.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
8 blasters against Diabolique??? ermmm... don't think so

    [/ QUOTE ]
Ooh now that would be messy! How to liquify 8 blasters in one easy step.
  25. Redraw isn't all that bad as the animation interval between the two subsequent attacks is cut short to balance it out. I use Air Superiority as an opener alot of the time (have done since I got it) the draw makes for a quicker execution of Hack>Headsplitter as a follow-up that will floor any even-level Lt and leave Bosses struggling off their backsides when Disembowl gets triggered to finish them off.

With proper slotting Reconstruction is your ever present handy heal that forms a staple for Regen all through the game. The redraw is a bit daft but I'd rather be able to heal then chain two attacks in quick succession than have to wait for the attack animations to sort themselves out.
