Today I was on a team with a guy with no vet rewards that really didn't understand how to play the game. Of course, he wasn't leveled up via AE (didn't have the appropriate badges). "Bad"/inexperienced players can exist just as well outside of AE.
And many good players exist inside AE as well. -

Any answers you get will be based on playstyle.

Yep, I use Blinding Powder as an opener (well, pre-opener since it doesn't cause aggro). If I'm lucky, a few will be confused... then I can enter the fight with a lower chance of being hit, and maybe several of the enemies out of the battle for a bit.
Smoke Flash, on the other hand... I generally never use... it's basically just a panic button, but with, iirc, 2 second cast time makes it hard to use effectively... and doesn't set you up for a critical, really. It does have its uses, but IMO Blinding Powder is a lot more useful. -

color:red in square parentheses = RED
with /color in square parentheses as the end tag.
[/ QUOTE ]
Like this?
Wasn't their a way to adjust colors though, so you could make text match the background of the forum and blend in etc?
[/ QUOTE ]You have to manually enter the hex color code. And even then, it'd only match one side and not the other. -

MOST of the forum???
Uhm, I think not...
I could barely stand watching the first few seconds of it took me to see the "ribbit, ribbit, ribbit..." captions - in order to figure out what it had to do with frogs, then closed it asap = to avoid loosing any further sanity...
[/ QUOTE ]Funny, you say that, yet even you've watched itI've gotten so many people to click the link... I've gotten people sending me private messages asking for the video once the version I had up was taken down (the user closed their youtube account). It's my standard 'any new i16/GR' information response
Yeah, I think 90% of the active forum population has been forced to watch it

Uhm... So, in regard to that anime clip = [u]Hence, no amusement.[u]
[/ QUOTE ]What gave you the impresion that this is for your amusement? What gave you the impression that any of it is for your amusement? -
Bill just likes being thorough

But does he actually make a profit from that? Or does it just cover the cost of goods? Also, is it enough profit to pay the salaries of ~60 employees, plus servers, plus NCSoft GMs?
I think $15 is very reasonable price, as it's VERY cheap, yet it also allows the developers to make investments in the game, like to spend the money to release several free Issues a year. -
The money has to come from somewhere...
-
[ QUOTE ]
well the way the economy is....I dont think people can even pay for it.
[/ QUOTE ]NCSoft also has to pay money to run the servers, to own the servers, as well as pay the development team. And as far as expenses go, an MMO like CoX is pretty darn cheap when you think about it... going out to the threatre costs more than a month subscription... when I went with a couple friends last time, if I had paid for my own ticket as well, I would have shelled out more than two months subscription! -
[ QUOTE ]
I know that CoX used to have purchasable game cards that covered subscription costs so that people wouldn't need to pay using a credit card. They're either all gone or very rare these days, I think.
[/ QUOTE ]Any time card/game card for an NCSoft game works for CoX. There's also the NCSoft time card that works for CoX, which I believe mostly replaced the CoX time cards. -

People have been farming MA maps which have no chance of purple recipe drops. Only a few people still do TV or BM farms.
[/ QUOTE ]And eventually people will realize than can make insane profits by doing them again. I've already proposed a method of farming TV/BM that'd greatly amplify your chance for a purple in a play session.
[ QUOTE ]
Meh. They're probably still less rare drops than those PvP IOs.
[/ QUOTE ]Well, since purples drop, yeah, they're less rare than the PvP IOs- because those don't drop. They're currently bugged, the reward mechanism doesn't work. -
Use imageshack.us for image uploads, it's free, no account required.
Reading it again, are you proposing using Influence/Infamy to pay for the game? -
Recommendation: ALTITUS!
Forget about trying to figure out what is 'best'/optimum for now. Read the descriptions of each AT and then pick what sounds most INTERESTING to you. After you get a few levels under your belt you can then make a better decision about what to roll next, since you'll know a little bit about that AT+powerset combo, as well as likely having seen several people play other ATs. -
You have to login to myspace before you can view the image.
I can't understand what you're trying to say other than at least a way to play without paying (not gonna happen). -
It depends on the powersets + AT. For example, any Dominator guide from more than a couple weeks ago is going to be questionable, due to the very recent revamp of the AT. On the other hand, most Defender guides will be quite fine going back as far as the introduction of Inventions, and maybe purples if those are your thing.
I'd ask in the AT sections for advice once you decide what to build.

those generated by Mik's and the like may as well be written in binary
[/ QUOTE ]That's why you copy the block, and then import it into Mid's (not Mik's) Hero Designer. It's pretty simple to use.

The pet buff was made into an targeted AoE buff a few issues ago. Long as the pets are even slightly close to each other, you only need one cast.
If the zombies transform, they've received the benefits. -
Yeah, people tend to over look that whole tripling to quadrupling of the size of the development team. I mean, I'm sure that had nothing to do with it.
-
Likely what happens is that one of the freaks from the last boss's group ran off, causing that event not to finish until you finally killed him later.

What I'm unsure of with FIOS is latency.
[/ QUOTE ]While playing HL2 on FiOS, I generally always have the lowest latency of anyone on any server I play on. But again, different areas might have different quality- I'm in one of the early areas that they rolled it out so I'd imagine the used the best equipment here. -

*giggles* That looks like fun! I should copy myself over to Test and make a really horrible build like that
[/ QUOTE ]I could just post one of my live builds to drive people insane.... -
IIRC, the title is going to be: Issue 16 - Power in Technicolor.

No, actually the song would be this. I'm fairly certain most of the forum has heard it before. -

Technically, July 31st, 11:58 PM is still in July.
However, I would expect more juicy details by no later than Comi-con.
[/ QUOTE ]
No later than Comic-Con? Don't you mean this week? Or are you telling us we'll get Going Rogue info this week and I16 info at Comic-Con?
I hope we don't get another week by week info-bit feed up until the week of Comic-Con. Yuck.

Great, now I have a Twitter and it's all Posi's fault!
[/ QUOTE ]Could have just used any RSS aggregator out there... -
