Caltrops: Do the procs have a chance to fire every 10 seconds, or does it have a chance to proc when placed and if it does so the damage will occur every 10 seconds?
See above reply. Same situation applies - you only trigger the power ONCE. The only time it gets to check repeatedly is when the power is being used continually FROM YOUR POINT OF VIEW - i.e. a toggle or auto power.
Acid Mortar: Do procs have a chance to fire with each shot it makes?
No.
[/ QUOTE ]
Both of these are easy to check watching combat logs. Caltrops (and Tar Patch for another example) will check for proc every 10 seconds, as well as when they are placed.
Similarly, if you watch the chat logs for Acid Mortar it will show bonus Negative energy damage well after it's been placed. -

Im doing my Lvl50 final slotting and Ive come across some questions that I cant get definite answers on. Mostly they are questions of how procs work with my various Trap powers.
If it matters, I am a Robotics/Traps MM. Selected powers are
Robotics: Battle Drones, Equip Robot, Protector Bots, Repair, Assault Bot, Upgrade Robot
Traps: Web Grenade, Caltrops, Triage Beacon, Force Field Generator, Acid Mortar, Poison Trap, Seeker Drones, Trip Mine
Flight: Hover, Fly
Leadership: Assault, Tactics, Maneuvers
Teleport: Recall Friend
Mu Mastery: Charged Armor, Electrifying Fences, Electric Shackles, Thunder Strike.
-Questions-
Triage Beacon with Numina's Convelescance: +Recov/Regen or Panacea: +HP/End. Would this proc on people within the healing aura? Or just for me? Or at all?
Caltrops: Do the procs have a chance to fire every 10 seconds, or does it have a chance to proc when placed and if it does so the damage will occur every 10 seconds?
Acid Mortar: Do procs have a chance to fire with each shot it makes?
Poison Trap: How do procs work with this one's gas area? Do enemies in the area have a chance of taking the proc, does the chance of proc occur at placement and will occur every 10 seconds if it does, or will it only proc on the innitial release of the gas?
Will auras pass thier proc on to people within the aura? For example, will Tactics with Gaussian's Synchronized Fire-Control: (5%)Chance for Build Up give only me that chance, or each ally being affected by the aura?
Thank you for any answers you can provide.
[/ QUOTE ]
Triage Beacon: proc would affect you for 120 seconds when placing the beacon.
Caltrops: Chance to fire on placement and every 10 seconds after.
Acid Mortar: Yes, chance to proc with each shot it makes.
Poison Trap: Checks for proc separately on each target in the gas every 10 seconds.
Auras: Build Up in Tactics will be on you, checking every 10 seconds for a proc.
Perhaps someone else can confirm for powers like those in Kinetics that heal and give endurance from a hit on a target; will +End procs, or neg. energy damage and + End procs from Accurate healing sets, affect friendlies?
You can check for procs in things like acid mortar by watching the "Pet Damage Inflicted" chat channel. It appears as "Bonus" damage.
Similarly, procs in pets and pet-like powers would be on their respective Pet channel, like "Chance for Recharge Slow" in Dark Servant or Tar Patch would be in "Pet Healing Received" chat channel.
Chance for Build Up is under "Healing Received".
Edit to make Poison Gas clearer. -

Anyone know if it is a bug that they all now say "nice day, isn't it?" instead of the variety of things they used to say? Or was it a change made for some reason that they are planning to keep?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm hoping it's a bug, since they used to tell you random tidbits about the zones in Paragon City (like "I hear the dead walk the streets in Dark Astoria", even if you clicked a ped in Atlas. It gave you something to look forward to.) -

Zombie_Man had a good list of cape bugs in his post here.
[ QUOTE ]
Now, notice I said these were the options for Male and Huge Models. For the Female Model at level 1 only this was available under High Collar:
Basic > no detail2
Arcane > no detail2
Valkyrie > no detail2
Not only were the Long and DVD capes missing, but so was the Occult Cape which is very much a part of the Booster Pack. The Occult Collar was also missing for the Female Model.

Good list. One I've noticed is if the human is in the spawn and dead, and 'flee' code kicks in, the zombie will go to next nearest spawn with a human in it and stay there. -

Customizing the Quick Chat Menu
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow, now that is awesomeness!
Ty Zombie_Man and Fleeting Whisper. -
The emotes menu is opened using the apostrophe key ['] which also had the double quote on it. Then hit the hot key that is bolded on the chat menu to open the sub-menus and activate the emote.
And yes, you are correct that the costume change emotes do not work in combat stance. Hit escape, or start your macro/bind with /em none to clear it before hitting the costume emote. -

Also, check your chat tabs and make sure at least one of them has all the following:
Cutscene Captions
NPC dialog
Pets
You can even hide them on a Tab4 somewhere if you don't want to see them show up in your normal chat, but that should make sure you see all the chat bubbles.
[/ QUOTE ]
Every time I make a new character, I have to add these. I do put them on chat tab 4 also. It seems the default is to NOT have them, which is quite annoying.
[/ QUOTE ]
Once you have your chat window set the way you want it you can save it to be your default using Menu > Options > General Tab, and near the bottom there is a "Chat settings File" section with buttons to save/load the chat settings.
Hit the "Save to default file" button.
The slash commands to do the same thing would be :
/chat_save [Saves a list of chat settings to COH_INSTALL_DIRECTORY\chat.txt]
/chat_load [Reads a list of chat settings from COH_INSTALL_DIRECTORY\chat.txt]
/chat_save_file filename [Saves a list of chat settings to a file named "filename"]
/chat_load_file filename [Reads a list of chat settings from a file named "filename"] -

Another related question for people...
In the Concealment pool, what is the performance benefit of Invisibility over that of Stealth? Or put another way, how do they handle in terms of gameplay? It could very well be that you chose Stealth as the prereq to getting Invisibility, but once you did, in what tactical situations would you choose to use one or the other?
Thanks in advance,
Johnny
[/ QUOTE ]
Here's a good breakdown of the way they work:
Stealth and Perception
Short answer, with Invisibility you cannot attack, with Stealth you can attack.
In PvE the stealth afforded is:
[Concealment Pool Power]
Stealth: 35 ft
Invisibility: 55 ft
Perception of a minion is 45 ft, so it won't see you if you have Invisibility on (perception minus stealth would be -10 feet), but it will see you at (45 - 35)= 10 feet using Stealth. -

Similarly, procs in pets would e on their respective Pet channel, like "Chance for Recharge Slow" in Dark Servant or Tar Patch would be in "Pet Healing Received" chat channel.
As mentioned, chance for Build Up is under "Healing Received", as is Chance for Hold [in case one hold isn't magnitude enough for what you hit, you won't see the Tesla cage effect but know that it is indeed proc'ing] -

A great place to check is

A work around for this is to go to another map, than go back to Mercy.

Moving away from any of the markers and typing /stuck will work to reset the waypoints, most of time.
And yes, a fix would be nice. -

Also, for the character order issue, make sure the "Remember Name" box is checked on the log in screen. -

I recall seeing a post a looong time ago, which detailed how to re-install CoH without downloading the thing all over again, which is of course handy if you buy a new hard drive or things like that.
I think my search fu is broken as I can't find it (please note this is for re-installing the Main game....not the Test version)
I know it had something to do with copying the CoHUpdater.exe to desktop or something like that but I just can't remember how to do it.
Can anyone shed some light on how to do it?
Thanks.

Great minds and all that .. and fools . .well, ya ya.. I know.
At least it's now listed here in the Tech forums for those who are looking for a fix on a Technical Issue. -
At first I noticed this with the Consignment market window open. A power on auto-fire would not fire if the market window was open when it recharged (tested with Hasten and Radiant Aura).
But, after some more investigation, if an non-attackable (invalid target) is selected (so that it appears as your target in the upper left target window), the power on auto-fire won't fire either. This includes consignment contacts, regular contacts, and even pedestrians on the street, even if you have a non-attack power, like Hasten or Heal, on auto-fire.
The power will fire if you hit ESC to clear the target, or by selecting an attackable target, or moving out of targeting range of the target. -
<QR>
I am noticing that if the power set on auto-fire recharges while you are in the enhancement management screen, or have the market window open, it will pause and not fire.
There were a couple of times I could swear that the power would pause for the same length of time that I had the market window open but I haven't had the time to do an actual timed test. Kind of like when the client shows the power has recharged, but the server is saying it hasn't recharged yet (happens a lot with cut-scenes or really laggy Invasion events).
Edit: Okay, I was mistaken on the timing, but testing proved that a power on auto-fire will not fire if the Consignment market window is open (tested with hasten and Radiant Aura). Perhaps an attempt at power suppression in the market areas?
The power will fire if you hit ESC after closing the consignment window. -

Because the content from the contacts in Ouroboros is 25+.
[Yes, I know you can still do Flashbacks from a base if you are lower level as long as you are teamed with the person starting who has to be 25+. It would appear the Devs wanted the Ouroboros content to be level restricted. ]
[/ QUOTE ]
The Shivans in the intro Arc are level 25. But you can enter BB at 15 and be auto sked to 25 and fight shivans. Lower than that you may not be able to handle the Shivans as well.
But also think of it as your reward for making it half way to 50.
[/ QUOTE ]
My point was you cannot get any of the Ouroboros contact's arcs/TF's until you are 25, so there is no reason to allow character's under 25 into the zone (other than the secondary effect of having a zone travel power). I doubt it has to do with Shivans as you can face those villainside at level 15 in Marshal Brass' arc. -

The fun one is if you log off near a manhole cover or snake hole, you pop out of the ground on log in. -

Does activating non-attack powers negate stealth for awhile.
Specifically, one of my characters has superspeed and the celerity +stealth IO, but sometimes, enemies that don't have increased perception see me anyway. I'm suspicious that it might have something to do with hasten being on auto-activate, and it taking down my stealth.
[/ QUOTE ]
Turn on your combat attributes monitor and watch your stealth value. As others mentioned, it shouldn't suppress, but at least you'd be able to confirm that you were back in stealth if it was suppressed by another action previously. -
