Also, just to clarify, you won't need to reload from the discs if you still have your trial installed. Just Upgrade your account with the new code.

Here's BaB's post on this bug:

    [ QUOTE ]
Just a head's up, we've verified this issue in this particular incremental build. Not sure what's caused it, as we can't even replicate with the latest code/assets, but the programmers are looking into it.

Right now, it appears to be purely cosmetic, and only affects characters in the costume creator/tailor screen. So we're considering it a non-critical, but high priority bug. If anyone knows of any similar effects outside of those areas, please let us know as soon as possible.

  3. The double bow issue goes way back to when custom bows were first introduced. If even one of your costume slots has a 'bugged' bow that shows double, it will show up when switching to other costume slots. Through trial and error the community came up with the following workaround (sorry, the original thread has been purged but I may have a rough draft somewhere):

Here's a snippet of the post and fix:

    [ QUOTE ]
The procedure Lord_Regulus posted seems to work by refreshing the models and clearing all instances of the corrupted (double-bow) slots off of the afflicted character: the fix is to change *all* bows in *all* costume slots to anything other than what they currently have. ... Then zone or log out and it should be fixed. (Until you Zone or Log out you will still see 2 bows showing).

Once all of the bows are changed, and the character has zoned/logged out, the problem is resolved; you can now go back and customize to use any of the bows without seeing the glitch.

And, just to add to the above, you will have to apply the upgrades again on re-summoning any defeated henchmen if you want the re-summoned to have the upgrades.

    IO vs SO bonus

For common IO's, at what level do they equal (or come within a few percent of) an even level single?

    Out of contacts

    [ QUOTE ]
I've played CoH for some time, but never really got into CoV. I decided to give CoV another shot and rolled a mastermind. I just hit level 26. I finished all of the missions from a contact in Sharkshead, but he didn't introduce me to anyone else. Now I don't have any missions to do. I could always go to Architect and do missions there I guess, but I wanted to play the original CoV content once. How do I get more missions?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unlike heroside, contacts will only pass you up the contact chain within the same zone. As mentioned, once you outlevel a zone you'll need to go to the next zone and run newspaper missions until your broker bar for that zone is full, then do a mayhem and get introduced to a contact in that zone.

As well, if you don't have any more contacts in the contact chain you have to do newspaper missions to start another contact chain.

A great guide for zone levels and the contact branches is Dread Tomax's Guide to the Rogue Isles' network of contacts .

I believe Black Scorpion is the one where you have to fight the four Mole Machines. I'd avoid that one solo.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I just ran that one for the first time and.. aren't the mole machines supposed to spawn enemies or something? They were just big bricks of HP when I just ran it with team of 3 (yawn). Should I have bugged it?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I don't think they spawn enemies as a rule. If it's bugged, it's been bugged for a very long time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah, so not a bug, just a time consuming task with no reward other than getting to the mission complete. Too bad; they could at least revamp it to throw some wave attacks at you at various stages of damage.

Which of the four patron arcs would be the quickest and eaiest for a Dark/Dark brute to do solo? I know that two of them involve objects with AV level HP and 75% resistances, but I don't recall which two.

    [/ QUOTE ]

in my experience, GW and Black Scorp are the easiest, GW is a joke if you have any kind of neg energy resist

  9. Okay, I think we're all saying the same thing about the double inf rewards anyway. The documentation is wrong about exemplaring (when compared to what actually happens in-game), and it's just XP converted to inf when there is no debt involved.

I also can see sigma1932's point in that by using XP->inf when exemplared you get shortchanged on bosses.
  10. I was pointing out that the manual and loading screen tip do not say

    [ QUOTE ]
    "double XP" when exemplared

    [/ QUOTE ]

    as sigma1932 had stated.

I do find it interesting that it does say

    [ QUOTE ]
If you have no XP debt, then you will earn influence at
    double the normal rate.

    [/ QUOTE ]

and both you and sigma1932 do agree that it is actually XP converted straight (1 to 1) into inf. You would think that they would have corrected that when they released the newly revised manual which now includes the Invention and AE systems.

IIRC it was a gate to Perez Park before they introduced Galaxy City.

Also, if you put Shivan goo on a cow skeleton, would it make a cow-shaped Shivan?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    A "Moo Goo" Shivan?
  13. [ QUOTE ]

And numerous manuals and online sources have also presented that we should've been getting "double XP" when exemplared (regardless of the character's "real" level), not to mention there was a loading screen tip that said the same (which the dev's would've had to put in when they added the loading tip feature to the game).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, they might have changed it, but the new online CoH Manual says on page 85 of the PDF:

    [ QUOTE ]

When you receive XP as an Exemplar, you will receive an amount
appropriate to your original level. This XP can only be used to pay
off XP debt. If you have no XP debt, then you will earn influence at
    double the normal rate.

    [/ QUOTE ]

As well, the loading screen tip (from the Wiki list ) says:

When you Exemplar/Malefactor to someone you fight at their combat level, losing access to powers you gained after that level. You will stop gaining XP, instead gaining double Influence/Infamy

All that aside, I do see your point, that the system should be double XP rather than double inf because of the boss XP > inf rewards ratio.
  14. I'm liking the change, because now the Sky Raiders spawns are actually containing a variety of Lieutenants: Porters and Wing Raider Officers instead of the rare Captain, and when in a duo Jump Bots are spawning whereas before I'd only seen them in scripted spawns.

    Day Job Bugs

Yes it is common; you need to zone to refresh the progress on the badge window.
  16. [ QUOTE ]

It wouldn't matter. Every purple IO is classed as "Unique" which means 1 per build. Not the set, each IO in the set is unique. I know of no way around that and it was working before the Purples were introduced.

    Good point.

    <qr>
Could it be from a power having it's Enhancement Set category changed? For example, I noticed that ranged sets are no longer allowed in Acid mortar but I had some Thunderstrikes in it from before the change. Perhaps if something similar happened and he has Ragnarok slotted in a power that no longer allows it, then the code might not count it against the 'one set' limit and allow him to slot a second set in another power.

    [/ QUOTE ]

When that happens however, you don't get the bonuses.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wonder if that is still the case with purple sets, which have set bonuses that operate at all levels, even if the power it was slotted in is greyed out. Almost impossible to test that though.

You can use old base salvage for collector's items, or you can use it to make Brainstorm thingies at an invention table. I think that makes collectors cry though.

    TO's

    [ QUOTE ]
So I am not crazy. I just got a lvl 37 Damage on my 39 Brute.

    Thanks

    [/ QUOTE ]

Also, if you have the Shopkeeper/Smuggler Day Job you'll get a random Enhancement drop on mission complete (I've had this happen too and I assumed that's why I see DO's/ TO's at higher levels, but I'll watch more closely next time to see when the drop occurs).
  22. Okay, I think I made it less muddy.

<goes and starts another pot of coffee>
  23. Accurate To-Hit-Debuff is used on powers that De-buff To-hit and require a hit check (they take accuracy enhancements).
An example is the toggle power Darkest Night, which is applied to a target and affects all those around him, but doesn't need to check if it hits the target. It takes To-Hit-Debuffs but not Accurate To-Hit-Debuffs because there is no check to see if it hits the target, and therefore the power takes no accuracy enhancements.

Edit to clarify and add: Accurate To-Hit Debuff sets will have some enhancements that increase the power's accuracy, whereas To-Hit Debuff sets have no enhancements that increase accuracy.

    Few questions

    <qr>
Since it hasn't been mentioned yet; on the map there is a tab called "City", which will show all the zones, how they connect to one another, and if train lines ( yellow and green) connect to them.

Rolling over each of the zones give's you it's name.

This will help if you need to go to another zone for a mission and need to know how to get there.

You can check at City Info Tracker.

One problem with keeping up a list of them is that every now and then the numbers change.

    missed it by *that* much

    [/ QUOTE ]
Actually as someone who's messed around with using /settitle binds for years I'd put out the warning that many badge numbers tend to change EVERY time the Devs add badges to the game.

It's not impossible to account for, but it is an annoyance that people don't expect when they first start looking into to using the /settitle command.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just ran into this after setting up a bunch of costume change macros with /settitles in them. Now I'm adding a Tell to myself with the title in it so the next time the badge numbers change I don't have to wonder what the original title was, I just have to look up the new number. (EG: /settitle 1149$$tell $name, Nimble Mynx ).
