Yup you sure can. At first I thought it's harder but my SJ/Ice has no problem doing Placate + Uppercut. You just need to use it asap.
You can also do Placate + AS. You won't get interrupted but you also don't get critical.
This means Kinetic/Ice is better than I thought. At first I thought CE is interrupting too quick. -
Quote:It's been a while since I played my DP Corr but I thought Hail of Bullets have higher base damage, unlike Rain of Arrow where the chance is like 75% 2nd tic and 50% 3rd tic?Why does the Corruptor version of Hail of Bullets seem to receive the least benefit from the Scourge inherent?
- Rain of Arrows can scourge fully on all three damage pulses.
- Blizzard checks to scourge on every single tick of damage, as do all other rain powers.
- Full Auto will Scourge for double damage if an enemy's hit points are low and the proc succeeds (it runs just one hit check though).
- All other nukes scourge for double damage with the same rules as full auto.
Meanwhile, Hail of Bullets does a paltry 41 points of damage at level 50 if it scourges-- a mere fraction of the total damage and making this the only Corruptor skill that doesn't critical.
Am I misunderstanding this, or was Hail of Bullets unfairly penalized on Corruptors? If it can't function like a rain power and check for Scourge on every tick of damage, why does it not receive a full critical like every other nuke?
(By the way, I've been wanting to find out if each tic of Rain of Arrow can scourge and trigger proc. Looks like it does? That means each tic has a chance to scourge + chance to trigger procs. Awesome!) -
Quote:Yeah I agree. Does that hidden state get rid of all the aggro on you? I hope not because I don't want to "randomly dump my aggro" to other squishies.I don't see why the stalker proc is all that hot...
Random chance of a hidden state...
Not sure How I can capitalize on something I am not sure will happen.
I would rather they give us something like -regen or -maxHP debuff so we can help more during AV fight. -
I actually find TPN very easy. It's easier than Lam for sure. I've failed Lam several times due technical difficulties. People used to (including me) crash during weapon/acid phase which ends up not having enough grenade/acid. I failed Lam another day even though we got 10 grenade/acid because some people in our League just didn't use the grenade. We only used 6 and then we end up dying and trying to get more grenades while being overwhelmed by mobs.
I would rank BAF the easiest and then TPN.
Once people know what to do in TPN (like which building and where to go), it is really easy. You don't even need to split into two teams for inside/outside. You only need to assign 4-6 players outside the building to kill off Telepaths.
We used to fail BAF/Lam all the time. I think part of the bigger problem is that some people just automatically assume the newer trials are harder or not worth the time. Once they tried it a few times, they are really not that hard.
The only one that I think can be really hard is MoM (especially the 2nd phase) if the team's setup is not right. -
Oh wait, I guess there are AT-specific sets coming out right? I haven't followed much of the new set info.
I just thought they were going to add more sets for secondary effects like Fear? -
I thought I read that they were going to create more purple sets like for Fear, Snipe, and maybe even Knock Back.
Any idea? -
I read some comments about CoH having "bad" graphics. Before I bought Rift, people said that game has such awesome graphic?
Yeah, the world looks fancier but the animation/spell graphics suck. They are so plain looking.
CoX is the only game I've tried that cares about animations. Yes, there are some buggy animations but we are not governed by Global Cool down (which means all spells/attacks need to come out in 1s). Some attacks activate faster and some don't.
I find CoX has one of the best "fire" graphics. They even make sure you see burning effect on the ground. Oh and I love the "rocks" that Stone Melee leaves behind too.
I think CoX's graphic is good enough. I care more about animation and graphics from the spells/attacks.
CoX has the best character designer.
The only thing CoX sucks is music. It needs better music. :P -
Quote:I know!!! I played CO when it came out for 4 months. Yes, that game's pace is fast but it's also "brokenly" easy (if there is such a word). Every build you make is like range scrapper. Everything dies within seconds. it was stupidly easy. And honestly, CO seems fast because you have energy builder that constantly does little damage. My twin brother tried CO with me and he actually hated the game. He hates how there is no "breathing" room in between battles because you are always attacking.I didn't realize CoX was slow paced compared to other MMOs...or that we have a lot of loot compared...
I find CoX's pace fast enough. It's faster than most of online games (like Rift/LOTRO/WAR Hammer) but it's not too fast.
Oh and I hate looting stuff from dead bodies or fighting for loots and then choosing "need, pass, greed". Just give me the damn thing. :P -
Quote:I agree.Really. The "free" in F2P is there to give people a full taste of the game in the hopes they'll sub. Do freebers really think the devs are just providing them the game to give them something to do out of the goodness of their hearts with nothing expected in return?
If they want to chat with people in CoH badly enough it's a deal breaker when they can't, surely that means it's important enough to them to pay a sub for, or buy access to it ala carte for a premium.
If they can't afford to, well then they really have nothing to complain about and they're not in a position to give anything back to support the game. "But I might be in a position to buy something in the future" is the standard reply. "How will I know there's anything I'd want to pay for if I can't even chat and experience the game?"
Um hello? There's your first purchase right there and it's clearly something you want/need badly.
.
If they can't even afford $5, then there is nothing this game can sell to them. They are really NOT THAT addicted.
At first I didn't like the chat restriction (I still think it's a little too strict) but since black friday sale, I see there are plenty of chances to upgrade their accounts. Have they done so? $1.99 to upgrade?
If they can't even do that, then obviously they only want to play for free - FOREVER. That's the kind of customer that drives a F2P to s!@#.
I am glad this game still caters to VIPs because those are the people that support this game for 7 years and counting. -
Oh, I didn't know that. I thought once the proc happens, it tics 5 times.
-
I haven't played my Fort for a while but I took her out yesterday for MoM and man, does she survive well!
I forgot how well Fortunata survives (been playing Blasters lately). Widow probably has the best psionic defense/resistance in the game. MoM has tons of nasty psionic damage and Mind Link offers 30% psi resistance for the team!
Yeah, I would total go for Fortunata if I want a psi-based character. -
I do have pets standing at the mission door when I zone. This happens a lot in itrials (twice in Lamba). I have to do /releasepets command to kill all of them and then resummon. The normal "dismiss" does not work.

I think a bigger problem is how pets react to a target that got knocked down. This problem is especially apparent in Lady Winter mission. My Genins would crane kick a boss to the ground and it took a long time to get up. During that time, the ninjas would only use range attacks. I have to goto them close to the target so they would cycle everything.
Knock back + pet AI is just not smart. -
Quote:Oh, only T4 Core gets 25% more damage? mmmm, blah... that sucks. I want to give T4 Radial a try if the boss pet gets 25% more damage as well.Only the T4 Core gets the bonus damage. Personally, even if the lieutenant dies immediately, I prefer +25% damage from the boss to the buffs or heals from the support pet, which I have generally found lackluster. On the other hand, I don't often need the boss out for a full five minutes (BAF escapee phase being the main exception), so Radial's shorter recharge is a plus there.
Well, that just makes my decision easier.
And yes, I find that 5min duration is too long when I try to "save" them. Why is T4 Radial Boss only 3min duration? I thought at one point they buffed Radial branch with less recharge but still remains the same duration at 5min? -
I am Fortunata... I guess I need more damage from my Lore pets than healing. I already survive quite well.
I just think that in very tough fights, LT pets tend to die too quick and a lot of times my lore pets are still there after the fight is over. I have the tendency to "save them" for the tough fights you know.
One more question. Do T4 Boss pets get more damage or just the Core boss pets get more damage? -
I find it hard to satisfy both perma Domination and soft-capped S/L. It's possible but I have to change a lot to get it.
I have an Elec/Earth dom who I tried to go for more +defense than +recharge because he is mostly melee. Elec/Earth is fun but he can't take a real beating from incarnate AVs for sure. I haven't played him for a long time, which is sad 'cause I enjoyed leveling him. I just think /Earth isn't good enough for itrials. There's a lot of heavy damage, auto damage in itrials and being at melee distance all the time when controls don't work is just too risky. -
-
Oh so the T4 Radial's buff pet lasts longer than the boss pet. Cool.
I may give T4 Radial a try. I kinda like having less recharge time so I don't feel like I have to save them for the final fight or something.
One more question, does the buff pet buffs/heals the Boss pet? -
I am using Clockwork right now but I have a hard time deciding which one I want, and I don't want to get both of them.
I've always chosen two attacking pets because they do a lot of damage, but didn't they buff Radial path?
T4 Radial gets you a boss pet and a buff pet that won't die. Is T4 good?
I am Fortunata. I give them good defense but during tough fights, LT pet can die pretty easily. The boss pet survives well enough.
T4 Core gives 25% more damage? What's your opinion on this? -
Damage from procs is not only affected by target's resistance, it is also affected by level difference. Take Mastermind for example, Minions' proc damage is lower than proc damage from Boss pet.

Quote:I don't have a lvl 50 Robot and Demon. Both of them are at about 35ish.
As for Demons, I think adding 35% def to Demons, who are already sturdy with resists and heals, would result in impressively survivable pets. How do Demons compare to Bots? Quite favorably. Bots are Def + heals + kb while Demons are resists + heals + slows. I will say a plus for Demon/Time is insta-holding a boss with Time Stop + Demon Prince always leads off with a hold, so choose his target for the hold to hit.
Demon do a lot more damage IMO but Robot survives better (which translates into more damage) and Robot's -regen is more beneficial during long fights. In regular fights, Demons have very good damage especially most of their damage type are "exotic" (fire, ice, negative).
Robots have very good aoe damage especially when you combo it with aoe slow/immb. -
I still haven't made a /Time toon yet but I have a feeling it's going to be MM/time.
Having said that, /Time is a GREAT set. It has almost everything. Power Boost + Farsight is a great team defense buff.
/Trap still has decent mez protection and I believe /Trap can debuff resistance better once you have two acid mortars out.
In terms of effectiveness, I think /Time and /Trap are top notch for sure, along with /Dark.
I would probably go with Demon/Time just because /Time has a great pbaoe toggle debuff that fits nicely with Demon powers. I feel Demon/Time has more synergies than Robot/Time. -
I am pretty sure my Lore pets can trigger Reactive. If you are not seeing it, then it could be a bug with the new Interface. There used to be a bug that pets couldn't trigger Interface.
I didn't know the DoT proc has different tics. I thought when it's triggered, it does a "fixed" amount of damage and you can trigger up to 4x on the same target?
And I thought caltrops/rain of fire trigger once per 10s? I thought they fixed that? -
I am pretty sure Power Boost cannot enhance Weaken since Weaken has -damage? PB does not work in powers that have +damage or -damage debuff. I know this because I asked this question about PB + World of Pain which has +resistance and +resistance is seen as +damage in the coding?
Does PB really work in Weaken with -damage?
