Which one is better? Core Superior Ally or Radial?

I am using Clockwork right now but I have a hard time deciding which one I want, and I don't want to get both of them.

I've always chosen two attacking pets because they do a lot of damage, but didn't they buff Radial path?

T4 Radial gets you a boss pet and a buff pet that won't die. Is T4 good?

I am Fortunata. I give them good defense but during tough fights, LT pet can die pretty easily. The boss pet survives well enough.

T4 Core gives 25% more damage? What's your opinion on this?

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

Anything thing to consider is:

Radial is 5 mins up time on buff pet, 3 mins on the boss pet, the power has a 10 min cooldown.

Core has a 5 min uptime on both pets, but 15 min cooldown.

Oh so the T4 Radial's buff pet lasts longer than the boss pet. Cool.

I may give T4 Radial a try. I kinda like having less recharge time so I don't feel like I have to save them for the final fight or something.

One more question, does the buff pet buffs/heals the Boss pet?

A quick (though not always reliable) rule of thumb that I use is that if you are a big damage dealer yourself then radial with some strong buffs (such as the carnival seneschal's forge) can increase your own damage more than another attack pet is worth. Masterminds should take care on this one as many of the raidal buffs are applied only to the player and not to henchman, making the seneshcal metioned earlier nearly useless to an MM.

If you yourself as a low damage dealer (tanks, most defenders, controllers*) and don't need the heals from some of the radial pets the you should defintely go with the core pets.

Of course, personal taste is probably a more important guideline than anything else if you're not a min/maxer.

* I realize that controllers can be built to be high damage dealers, but they'd still probably be better off with the Core pets since you can buff them with fulcrum shift or what have you and get more damage out of them than you would by getting buffs for youself.

I am Fortunata... I guess I need more damage from my Lore pets than healing. I already survive quite well.

I just think that in very tough fights, LT pets tend to die too quick and a lot of times my lore pets are still there after the fight is over. I have the tendency to "save them" for the tough fights you know.

One more question. Do T4 Boss pets get more damage or just the Core boss pets get more damage?

Only the T4 Core gets the bonus damage. Personally, even if the lieutenant dies immediately, I prefer +25% damage from the boss to the buffs or heals from the support pet, which I have generally found lackluster. On the other hand, I don't often need the boss out for a full five minutes (BAF escapee phase being the main exception), so Radial's shorter recharge is a plus there.

Oh, only T4 Core gets 25% more damage? mmmm, blah... that sucks. I want to give T4 Radial a try if the boss pet gets 25% more damage as well.

Well, that just makes my decision easier.

And yes, I find that 5min duration is too long when I try to "save" them. Why is T4 Radial Boss only 3min duration? I thought at one point they buffed Radial branch with less recharge but still remains the same duration at 5min?

I would assume it's a shorter duration because of the shorter recharge, to keep the total uptime the same. Core getting +25% damage wouldn't even be an advantage if Radial had +50% uptime.

Radial has 50% more uptime even with the boss pet having 3min duration?

No, it has the same uptime as Core (1/3), but if it had a 5-minute duration it would be up 15 minutes every 30, instead of 10 every 30. Hence, "...if Radial had...".
