I see both Doctor A Science and Doctor A Science will be attending.....

Except the white Igneous aren't the ones for the badge. You need the bosses - red magma dudes. They can be found by looking for fiery patches of ground and you need a way to draw them out (damage aura, location targeted AoE, right level range, etc).

Quote:What I'd like to see is merging of the server lists. So all European and US servers would be accessible to all.Actually, that's really simple and we've already seen it in action. Just add _EU or _NA to the end of the name. The key factor here is that is has ZERO IMPACT on most of the population. It would only affect people who CHOOSE to visit the other set of servers. So someone on the NA servers, playing on the NA servers, has no change. But, if they want to play on the EU servers, they get _NA tacked on to their global. This would not be done only if there was a conflict, it would be automatic. This way there is no doubt - "Oh, I wonder if there's a conflict that will change my friends global - I'll have to guess." Someone heroing 'across the pond' is automatically flagged so that the 'domestic' owner of that global name is unaffected.Quote:That would be pretty nice. So long as the conflict between globals could be resolved, I'm hard-pressed to think of many arguments against it. But, despite how smoothly the board-merge went, I think conflicting globals could cause more upset than conflicting board names, if for no other reason that the greater numbers of people involved.

Quote:No bug here.Yes the Ouroboros badges are bugged. There's 2 bugs I know of:
1) Well known one: If you run a mission that awards one of the series of accomplishment badges (like Bad Luck, but not Thief of Midnight) it won't award any of the challange badges. The bug is its not supposed to offer challange options for those badges.
No challenge badges for Accomplishment badge missions - working as intended.
The challenge options are ALWAYS listed, even for task forces - working as intended. The point being that you have the option of setting challenges even when there are no badges being rewarded for it. -

Quote:You are mistaken! This is the internet. If I receive a magic flying pony that craps gold and has saddlebags full of cookies, I have the right to complain that it didn't bring any milk!I really dont think you Americans have the right to complain about the low population on your servers,

Quote:You know, you could have turned off your XP and had that last forever. After nearly four and a half years (not counting time off; in calendar time, more like five and a half) of dawdling along, taking a sort of perverse pride in the leisureliness of my pace, Captain Photon has at last reached the level cap. I can no longer chime into the inevitable "level wang" discussions noting that I've been playing for more than four years, don't have a 50, and feel just fine about that,
Just sayin'.

Quote:I could be wrong on this but I think if you hit a bomb thats later destroyed it'll count towards the badge. So pick on bombs that other people are hitting or hit each bomb once and then find another one in the hope someone else destroys it
Standard defeat badge requirement is that you have to inflict 10% of the total hit points. As part of an invasion, bombs might be different but I can state that doing one small tap then moving on is NOT sufficient. (No, I wasn't trying to leech, but sometimes I get to a bomb late and can only land a single blow before it's destroyed.)Quote:Yes, I think you need to do 10% of the damage in order to get badge credit.
BTW, when I say "you" have to inflict 10%, "you" means the entire team. A player can stand there buffing, debuffing or healing and still get credit. Also, note that the 10% refers to the total hit points inflicted to defeat the enemy - this is why you can defeat Eochai and Jack but not get the badge if they have been smacking each other for a while. If they've done a million points of damage (which was regenned back) and you do 30,000 to defeat one, you have not hit the 10% milestone. -

Quote:Is it just me, or are you starting to get rather belligerent about this? You talk about the cut-and-paste response being "propaganda", then you put words in peoples mouths. You quote posts where people talk about what they "enjoy", then you start commenting about a "sense of entitlement". People have preferences different from yours. That's no reason to get in their faces.I think it is kind of strange the sense of entitlement that is displayed when people say they have a "right" to play on low population servers.

This has been a longstanding problem. If someone on the team enters the mission while the leader is in a different zone, this can happen. The situation you described is not different. Despite the fact that you all happened to be in zones with the same name, when the first person entered, the leader was not in the same zone.

For regular teams, AE Anonymous is a new global channel and seems to be quite active. I'm not sure about red-side, though. I hardly ever play red myself.
-
Firstly, it works perfectly for tens of thousands of other people, so it's not something wrong with the game.
The most likely explanation is that something on your computer is blocking it. Do you have a software firewall installed, for example?
Another possibility is that something on your network is blocking it. Are you trying to play from university housing? They often block various ports.
We need to know *A LOT* more about your situation in order to provide useful advice. -
Quote:I'm disturbed that there is no mention of a fix for the Ernesto Hess TF. We were told that it was a simple error for Hess but that they would have to "take a look" at the Katie TF. Yet the Katie TF is getting fixed already.Okay, slap me mercilessly. I actually went looking for it and failed to find it.Quote:The Hess Task Force was fixed in the prior build (published to Training Room last Friday - 1600.20090918.3T)
"Tasks
- Striga Isle: Fixed bug in Ernesto Hess Task Force that sometimes made the computers untargetable in missions 3, 4 and 5 or made them spawn inside geometry (walls)."

Quote:Then you picked a bad channel. Seriously. I'm on Infinity, which is a relatively high population server, but I'll often see 2 or 3 of the SAME TASK FORCE on a particular day. Any TF channel with zero activity over a weekend should be dropped. Have you tried posting in your server section and asking for global channel recommendations?Yes....well...i did a few day's ago...during the weekend there was zero activity...none what so ever....
P.S. I'm not addressing your suggestion to lower the requirements because:
1) The devs have said they do not intend to do so.
2) I personally think they should stay the way they are. -

Personally, I have seen a great many people *ASSUMING* that it is only a temporary measure. I hope that's true, as I think it's a bad move, but we haven't been told for sure.

Furthermore, they have announced a patch to the live servers for Wednesday.

Quote:I've started. I had to install Microsoft's .NET and did that yesterday. Then I installed HeroStats. Now I just need to run it and use the bindfiles to go through my badges.I suppose I should get around to installing HeroStats and get on the list at Badge-Hunter. I've been hunting badges long enough.....
Don't worry. You're still ahead of me on Infinity. You and Hopper and no one else.
