Sign me up for team one. I'll have to see if I have anyone high enough for both arcs who doesn't already have Portal Jockey.

Quote:Could be. But what I think I've seen more often is that, once you explain how the market functions and how to use it to your benefit, the response is often, "That sounds like work! I'm here to have fun!" To a lot of players, probably most of them, the market doesn't seem at all fun.Ive run across the odd individual ranting and railing against not just the market, but marketeers as well. And it is not the usual line that marketeers are the ones responsible for inflating prices and creating scarcity, nor is it directed specifically at the billionaires club. It is directed at anyone who dares to the use the market for anything besides a garbage disposal for reward drops and a store for IO recipes. If you start to mention ways they could turn their drops into enough influence to buy what they want at a price they can live with, youre stigmatized as a malodorous slime-dweller whose sole purpose is to extract their fun with a gaff large enough to land a tuna.

Quote:Is it? I definitely agree that the market is not a source. But my impression is that 'regular players' greatly outnumber the farmers. Do the farmers have a high enough rate of production to outweigh their smaller population?Actually no. The market is an influence drain/transfer machine. It is not a source. The main source of influence is farming.
I've done enough farming to appreciate/estimate the improved efficiency. But I'm not a 'serious farmer' so I don't hang out with other farmers and have no clue how many there are. -

Yeah, I can come up with stupid and irrelevant examples also, but it's not productive. We're talking about a *GAME*. This is just a LITTLE SIMPLER than your pointless comparisons. The game is rated TEEN and up, and trust me, plenty of teens have ZERO problem mastering every aspect of the game. The market is SIMPLE. A better comparison might be KNITTING. You can look at a sweater and have no idea where to start, but anyone can learn to knit.

Quote:Let's each add another pet to the list! Although since it starts with MM's, the wolf shouldn't be on there. The Warwolf Whistle is from a blueside arc.Don't forget that you could do this with eight MM's, each with six pets, each with a Shivan and an HVAS.
So I'll add.... the Heavy Mech from RV! Heroes get the Longbow one and villains get the Arachnos one. -
Quote:Well, the text over her head says 'City Rep'. Her actual name is Brighid Moreira, but that's not really useful to know.Capes - Level 20+ mission you can pick up from the gal in the center of the govt building in Atlas [ I honestly can't remember the name now]

RP - Beats me. I don't RP.
PVP - Beats me. I don't PvP. I think most of them moved to Freedom.
Teams, TF - The key here is the global chat system. There are entire channels dedicated to forming teams and entire channels dedicated to task forces. Standing in a zone and yelling on broadcast won't cut it. I'm on the following channels and find them very useful:
Inf Badge Seeker
Infinity Hamidon
AE Anonymous
(The first one SOUNDS like it's about badges, and kind of is, but it seems mostly about task forces to me.)
What would you say is Infinity's identity, or its unique qualities vs. other communities?
um... I dunno. Really, most servers don't have an 'identity', aside from Virtue = RP and Freedom = crowded.
Why are you here?
It's home. I originally picked this server because I liked the name.
How does it rank in activity?
eh, it jumps around a lot. Used to be 3rd most of the time, I think it's mostly 4th now. During off hours (middle of the night) I've seen it anywhere from #2 to #8.
I remember reading that a particular shard has a lot of arena activity, and it wasn't Freedom. Was that Infinity, and if not, do you know which shard it is?
I think it *WAS* Infinity. We used to have a pretty big PvP population. But with the free server transfers, many of them went to Freedom.
Quote:Say what? There's at least one RP group I see in Pocket D on a regular basis. They seem to be having a good time. There are also Taxibots and PCSAR, which I can't help but think of as RPesc, since they're in-game service organizations.
How does being helpful equate to role-playing? I'm in PCSAR (Paragon City Search And Rescue) and I know a lot of Taxibots (Paragon Taxi Service) and most of the people in those SG's don't RP. Sure, one of the head honchos of the Taxibots IS a RP'er and there are RP'ers in PCSAR too. But they're not RP groups. They're exactly what you called them; service SG's. -

Quote:Well, in keeping with the fire theme, let me say:The only Tank related issue here is that I'm not online Tanking... Just looking at my "to do" list and realizing that today and tomorrow I'm not going to get much Tanking in...sigh... So, I thought I shoot a quick post to the Tanker Forums and see what everyone else is up to. The good news is that tomorrow is Friday (unless you're running a Fiery Aura or Fire Melee then it's FRYday!). Ah well, have a good one all. See ya' when I can get back on.

BURN! I'm off work tomorrow.

Quote:Well, duh. Skewed toward ACCURACY, since these are the people who actually KNOW. As opposed to the unruly mob who never tried / don't care / are too lazy / are too stupid / etc.First most of the people at the yacht club haven't inherited money. At any given time most of the people in this country that would be called wealthy have actually built their fortunes.
The point was that if you go to a room/place/forum where people are good at doing something you get a somewhat skewed answer about how hard it is to do that. -
Ah, the 'magic desk'. Yes, once upon a time, you had to go through all sorts of gyrations to get a desk to stack effectively. No more. Now you can stack any desk to the ceiling - plus the safes and the lamps. Those are the big stacking items. Also note the safes and lamps can stack 'sideways'; i.e. if you have a stack of safes, you can stick a safe to the SIDE of any safe in the stack.

I believe this is correct. However, some special powers (some booster pack powers, some vet rewards, some tier 9 set powers) ignore all recharge buffs.
-
That's a standard description which is rather misleading for some IO's. This IO has a 100% "chance" of activating under valid conditions. All of your auto powers automatically 'activate'..... I think it's every 10 seconds. Too lazy to go look. It's way less than 2 minutes, which is how long this IO lasts, so putting in Health will have it always on unless you exemp too low.

Quote:Oh, I'm afraid you misunderstood the title. The Environmental Artists were hired to improve the appearance of Paragon Studios' OFFICE environment. If we don't have new tile sets, then I'll be left wondering what the heck the two World Designers, three Concept Artists, and two Environmental Artist have been doing for the past year and a half.

Quote:Nothing is obvious. So, obviously you play the toons you want to get lvl'd faster but which ones take precedence.

None of the above. Before I got the final influence badge, I would exemp my badger to earn influence. Now, I do the same thing except the goal is prestige.Quote:Do you make new toons or lower lvl ones to try to get them up to a higher lvl faster? Or, do you take a toon that's been sitting at lvl 41 for a while to try to get them that much closer to 50? -
Also, credit for each exploration badge is logged as it occurs. So if you visit 2 exploration badges in a zone, then transfer to another server, and someone still in the original SG visits the remaining exploration badges, the SG will get the beacon.

Quote:It's good to imagine most of those numbers, since you can't actually achieve them. No one can ever have a 1200% damage buff. Most AT's are restricted to 400%, some to 500% and brutes to 850%. No one can ever have more than 3000% regen (most AT's get less), etc.Imagine, if you will, eight Bionukes, followed by eight Chemical Burns, followed by eight Nuclear Blasts. That is a 1200% Damage buff, a 6400% regen buff, -400% resistance, -280% defense, -240% endurance, -800% recovery, and around 4800 damage before buffs and debuffs.

Quote:Demanding an apology from strangers on the internet.Ok 1st off back the HELL off me ok. I'm really getting tired of this. I want an apology and everything from u and everyone on here that has commented bout the post ok. I want it now or im reporting all those who made fun of me or mocked me >.>
Interesting idea. Let's see if it gets any traction.
More photos like that?

Quote:Well, it's like the two campers who see a bear charging toward them. One pauses to put on his sneakers. But that seems rather circular and a bit contradictory to me. Either:
- Criminals are working hard enough to surmount any security the devs tack on, fobs included. In which case fobs are of doubtful use.
- What's really needed for any security system is vigilence. Unfortunately this is not found in equal measure among all users, clever or not.
"What good are your sneakers? You can't outrun a bear."
"I don't have to outrun the bear. I only have to outrun you."
Yeah, SOMEONE is always going to get hacked. But it can be made to happen to less people. And things YOU do can make it less likely to happen to YOU. -
Quote:The appropriate reply:I was playing on my much loved (and a bit scuffed) namesake toon, The Killbot 5000, about a month ago. I joined a PUG, and the team leader starts mentioning that we need a Brute, several times. In case they missed it I point out that I'm a Brute, they reply that, "No disrespect, but I mean one that's been IO'd."
"No disrespect, but you're a tool."

And the taunt duration for the power Taunt is... 41 seconds at level 50?Quote:The problem that you run into without Taunt is that the duration on RttC is extremely low. For most taunt auras the duration is 16+ seconds. So when you and an enemy move apart (irregardless of wherever you moved away or they got knocked back) the taunt effect remains one them for some time allowing time for them to come back in range. With RTTC the duration is 1.25s which is sufficient for keeping them taunted while in close range but means that the effect will be lost almost immediately if they move outside the aura.

How can this post get any better? seriously?
