Quote:Right at the top of Ashley McKnight's page on ParagonWiki it says:According to Paragon Wiki, the Origin of Power mission arc is from level 14 - 50? Did I somehow outlevel it?
Now, that phrasing isn't super clear. It could mean that she stops talking at level 20 OR EARLIER if you do the Origin of Power arc earlier.Quote:Ashley McKnight is open to all villains at level 14. She is closed off at 20 or after you finish the Origin of Power arc, then will open again at 30 for the remaining missions. -
That doesn't matter. Your "now" was around 9 AM Eastern Standard Time. That means 9 AM on our east coast and 6 AM on our west coast. Most of the players on the NA servers are in the USA and many more are in Canada. Check back 12 hours later and the situation will be DRAMATICALLY different (particularly on Freedom, the highest-population server).
If you're that much out of sync with US players, you might way to try a different server. Justice is the 'unofficial Australia / New Zealand' server and is active during their 'prime time'. -
Nope. I was from about 8:15 PM EST to 11:30 and had no issues. Part of the time, I was running two accounts with my fire/kin clearing a map set for 8 so any connection problems would have gotten him killed.
-
My DSL pretty much sucks like a tornado. Despite that, CoH works fine. The game is not very demanding on your connection.
-
It doesn't really matter. China's legal position is officially quite 'anti farmer' but it is not enforced so it has no impact. And NCSoft can just ban any farmers they find - they don't have to go through any legal proceeding in any country.

Cool. It may also be that certain settings interfere with seeing stuff underwater.

Quote:Was that 2000 pts a little bit at a time? If the damage you are taking is coming off of 'bonus' hit points, it won't count for damage taken badges. It stopped working after getting High Pain Threshold Accolade, or maybe that is a coincedence.
Watched my toon take over 2000 points of damage, in several types of instances, counter still at 907,006.
Example:
Say you have 1,000 HP and nothing that boosts HP. If you take 10 pts damage, you get 10 pts badge progress.
Say you have 1,000 HP and a power or accolade giving you 100 extra for a total of 1,100. If you get hit by 100 pts of damage, there is no badge progress. If you heal back to full, then get hit for 100 again, you will never have any progress. If get hit for 100 and immediately 100 more, the second hit will count since it's subtracting from your 'real' hit points.
My observations (which may, of course, be wrong):
1) If you take damage that never cuts into your 'real' hit points - no badge credit.
2) If you take massive damage (like you have 1000 base, 100 extra and get hit for 800), it all seems to count.
3) If you marginally exceed the bonus hit points (like the above example but you take 115, heal, take 115 again, etc) - the results seem wonky. Sometimes it seems that it all counts, sometimes it seems like only a small portion of it counts. -
If someone sends me a private tell, or says something on the team channel, while I am zoning, I will hear the beep and the message will be visible once I finish zoning. So far, so good.
If someone says something on a global channel while I am zoning, the message is lost in the ether and I will never see it. The reason I noticed this is that when I run both of my accounts at the same time, I have to have them zone one at a time and I will see messages on the 'stationary' account but the messages will never appear on the one that was zoning.
Does anyone know if this is intentional or if there is a reason for it?
If not, I'll drop Arbiter Kim a line about it.

Quote:Firstly, you made a statement you knew at the time to be false. That's the DEFINITION of lying. Secondly, if you really believe that last line, about truth always winning on the internet, you're way out of touch with reality. To all those that called me a liar, you can believe what you wish. But I posted that KNOWING that 5 people would be coming in right after me to tell them the truth. In the world of the internet, the truth overshadows all.
Yeah, I knew he was goofing around too. But I also knew the OP would NOT understand that. -
Quote:eh, I hear stuff like that all the time from people who don't actually know the city. Been hearing it for years. I pay it no mind.I poke fun at Freedom occasionally, but a lot of the criticism is warranted. If the servers were U.S. cities, Freedom would be New York City. It's incredibly busy, there's always activity no matter what time it is, you meet new people every day, and you're in the center of the action. On the other hand, it's crowded, the people are rude, and it's hard to form close relationships because people get lost in the shuffle.
-
No, people are saying that they understand the process well enough to judge that anyone can achieve basic competence with minimal to moderate effort. Certainly it's easier for some than others. But, if all you need is a basic IO build, it's easy enough that ANYONE can do it.
-
Quote:Okay, whatever. You can do that for 20-25 million at the low end. That should be easily attainable by anyone. We were talking about getting the levels of influence needed to set IO out a character.
(shrug) Maybe they're not there for the money?Quote:Many SGs give away SOs and common IOs to their members you don't even need inf to get them. (And if yours doesn't just why are you there ? (Different topic but something I have always wondered)) -
Quote:True.... but... well, "tough". People need to adjust their expectations. It's like in this hysterical YouTube video where Hitler's expectation is "I should be able to faceroll my keyboard and still f****** win!" Sorry, might need to re-think that. This gets at what was brought up earlier in the thread: Expectations. Post an SO-only build or a frankenslotted build on the forums asking for advice and you'll get a purpled response. Result is people think they need such builds on every character. The expectation bar is set way too high.

There is also one in Galaxy City. Off the top of my head, I think it's 'Landlocked'. It's in the water and I have never been able to spot the actual badge marker.
-
I've had it happen, but not in a long time (over a year).
What happens is that the game things the character is still logging out.
Server maintenance will always fix it.
Often just waiting will fix it, but might need to wait the full auto-logout duration.
I had to petition about it a couple years back and they 'reset' the character status, moving him to Atlas Park. -
Quote:This is all true. However, I disagree with your apparent conclusion that the proper course of action in response is to *LIE* to people.Freedom and Virtue as being the "most populated" servers is technically true, and it REMAINS so because of a self-fulfilling prophecy.
People want to "be where the people are" so they go where the people are, which adds even MORE people to those servers. It's an endless cycle.
The only way to reverse it is to support "lower population" servers and show people how they can still have fun on those servers and still get a team easily no matter where they are.
Every time someone points another player to Freedom and Virtue, it perpetuates the cycle and increases the disparity. -
We may be part of the problem, but we're not liars.
To the OP: I would not suggest Freedom, as many people feel it is 'too' populated. Virtue is the next most populated server. Several others jockey for position after that. I believe Champion, Infinity and Justice are in that scrum. -
Almost all of mine do not know each other (aside from becoming acquainted due to being in the same SG, for those who are).
The exceptions would be my main character, Ironblade (BS/regen scrapper) who gained his powers from a magical helmet at an archaeological dig. He was a professor of archaeology. The linked character is Ironshield (SD/axe tank) who gained his powers from a shield at the same dig and was a graduate student. -
They don't need to. What you can't seem to grasp is that anyone with the brains to operate a computer and play this game can get plenty of influence for most purposes. Sure, most people can't rake in enough to purple their toons, but so what? ANYONE can get enough to always be able to afford SO's and for common IO's at higher level.

Quote:It sounds like you're referring to ONE badge. You have to visit ALL the exploration badges in Atlas Park (there are six) in order for your SG to be awarded the beacon. Is there a trick for finding the teleport beacon badges? I've stood right on the exact coordinates for the Atlas Park Beacon badge, but no luck finding the badge. Help?
Note: ALL the badges in Atlas Park are plainly visible. If you can't see the badge at your feet, you're in the wrong place. Of course, they are not all at ground level. One is on top of the giant globe; one is on the roof of City Hall, etc.
There is a list of the six badges, with their coordinates, here.
Each entry on that list links to a picture showing the exact location like this one for the Freedom badge. -
Quote:No, there's no special section for it simply because it doesn't come up often enough. I would post in the section for that server with an obvious thread title like "SG for sale" or "VG for sale". In your message, you should post how much prestige (total - including all item value) the group has.Is there a thread or special service for player who are interesed in selling/buying/trading SGs? I transferred from infinity to freedom and Im leaving behind the keys to a SG. I cant find much about this in any searches.
From there, the procedure varies. Some people might not want it known that they bought an SG so they might want the name kept secret and advised via PM. You might go with open bids, or post a price, or do it via PM.
For increased exposure, you might post a notice in the Bases section simply saying that you are selling an SG/VG on whatever server and link to the other thread.
Personally, I bought a VG on Infinity this way. -
Yes, and this led to one of the very rare occasions this game really annoyed me.
Contact: Go hunt some Carnies.
Me: ORLY? <drop mission>
Contact: Good job.
Contact: Go hunt some Carnies.
Me:
Yes, you can actually get two hunts in a row. -
Quote:Definitely not. I ran that one, thinking that it was. It ain't. Based on other replies, it seems to be a standalone mission. Bummer. There is a low-mid hero arc that used it initially, and I think that is Tsoo Shenanigans but im not positive.
-
In what mission or arc is the warehouse map with the Tsoo tattoo parlor? At least, I think it's supposed to be a tattoo parlor. The final room has a big bronze statue and there are folding screens dividing up the area.
Is it a mission I can flashback to? -
