  1. Now with more umph! Had trouble trying to figure out how to draw the dark effect, and after trying out many many variations with black bubbles, I'm bubbled out. So went a different route. Anyway finished, at least with the inks. Hope you like! Next color!
  2. Alright, after a trying out a few ideas, here is the one that finally worked for me. I'll post the finished inks soonish!

Again, sorry for the roughness. I'm probably the worst sketch artist in the world.
  3. Have to thank Larissa for helping me rethink the flow of the trench. The leg also came as a result. Though now with all the bottoms of shoes displayed so promenantly, I may have to change the title to Sole Keeper.
  4. Update

Fixed that leg and trench flow that bugged me, and cleaned up the image even more. Still missing that umph! I got a few ideas I will try out, and would like to hear some as well.

Oh if you forgot what the image looked like before... here ya go!
  5. Its the reason I stopped doing commisions. I'm just not sure, because of how quick my schedules change these days, just how long it will take me to do a piece. It isn't like 4 years ago, when art was all I was doing. I don't mind doing a gift art now and then (cause I can work on those as I have time), but I just can't put paying clients through that.
  6. Work in progress. I post them to pick your brains before before the finished inks, when I'm apt to not make any more changes (because it becomes really hard to do so).

Critiques on a finished work, though highly appreciated, will not likely spur an artist to change a piece, it instead serves only to give the artist something to keep in mind for future works. So, it's usually good to try to get ideas as early in the work as possible.
  7. Here's a sneak peek at my next piece. It's still rough, and I still have a few ideas before putting in the final inks and colors. Someone suggested I put in a raven and moon. Also, I did this in a comic panel style and made room for word balloons, but still haven't decided if I was gonna place them or not, and I'm not quite happy with SK's pants and the flow of his trench. Tell me what you think, critiques, ideas, etc.

Oh yeah, this poster will be going over my bed when it's done.
  8. I just realized looking at the contents of my room in that picture the reasons why I don't have a girlfriend. Anyway the next picture I do, I plan to place over my bed.

I'm not kidding about the poster (the size of the download is poster size 22x24 inches at 300 dpi), I already have the print ordered and the frame for it bought.

    Hehehe...looks nice!
  10. There's a saying I heard one of my art professors say in college, "Art is never completed. Only abandoned." Basically, there got to be a point where you move on. I always say I don't like looking at my own work after 10 minutes of showing it. Everyone sees art, but all I see are mistakes. I don't try to fix them cause I've already decided I'm done and fixing them will just end up me finding more mistakes and the cycle goes on and on. Instead, I just learn from them for the next project.
  11. Thanks both of you. As far as commisions go, I'm not yet ready to get back into drawing professionally yet.

I've been kinda out of the art scene for 3 years. For now this was just a learning process with new techniques. I'm not kidding about the poster (the size of the download is poster size 22x24 inches at 300 dpi), I already have the print ordered and the frame for it bought.

The next two projects I've got lined up will be basically a refinement of what I've learned, as well as a test of how fast I can get a project done now, and how well I can balance time creating art and my 9-5 job. After that, who knows, though I'll likely do one more gift art before I announce anything.
  12. Actually he needs no introductions as I've posted the b&w ink version a long while back. Yeah, I never got around to color it until Christmas break, partially cause of work, but mostly because there was a new technique I had to learn before attempting this.

Hopefully, y'all like... I'm getting this printed myself as a poster to hang on my wall!

As for the future, I've already got another drawing in the works, which shouldn't take as long to complete...maybe.
  13. I currently have a 6x11 Intuos 3 myself. I've tried bigger tablets, but found that bigger doesn't mean better. In fact, it makes drawing on a screen far more awkward. My suggestion is to try to buy a tablet near your screen size, and never bigger.

    Fair enough.

But do you think it would be possible for the devs to implement a rudimentary interface where players could - on their side only - replace some of these elements with some of their own design? Perhaps allow for some kind of file exchange so that people who really get off on creating stuff like that can do most of the work and others can benefit. They needn't expose the program's inner workings if they build a shell around it and allow us to work just on images, colors and textures.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Possible? Heck, I could make that and I'm not a dev. So could a lot of people on these boards. However, since we're not devs it would be against the EULA for us to do so. So, it's really up to the devs wheter they want to or not. And I'm sure there's plenty of reasons against it.

Hmmmm. That just got me thinking, is there any way to get some of this done client-side only?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, yes there is. That is all I'm saying about it though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If I'm not mistaken, Gravity Control>Propel is already like this. The random junk you see thrown on your screen isn't always the random junk your teammates see on their screen.

    Right?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, I’m saying that Mobs in the game (especially the human looking ones) have interchangeable parts like the players. Only those pieces are set client side so it can be referred by a single call by the host servers. So unlike the players which are streamed to the client as:

Player Character Name: Size, Head, Torso, Arms, Hands, etc.

Mobs are sent by a single call, which the client uses to references a file that lists what Size, Head, Torso, Arms, Hands, etc. that mob has.

What the Mobs in the game looks like can be changed but only the client will see the change. However, I'm not going to say how to do it.

As I recall, being able to accessing these game innards on the user's PC was stopped due to it beign a EULA violation.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It wasn't stopped per say, just prevented from being talked about online.

*Edited due to weird double post.

  18. That picture looks like its of the signature characters wearing the Roman armors. I see Statesman, Sister Psyche, and Positron (at the end). Not sure who the guy in the beginning and the guy between Sister Psyche and Positron is (Manticore?)

I guess im an odd one as I collect and do that drawing thing

I did get a pm once in game while playing my main Dragonberry asking me if I could help person x get in contact with a artist from DA that draws my character alot .

Sure I said and asked who it was and they linked me to my own DA page aka Scarfgirl XD

I didn't bother explaining the mixup and instead just explained that im sleeping with the artist and thats why I get lots of pics
And that the artist isn't currently taking comissions

Yessh the art world is weird

My thing is having a pen name that's got me mistaken many times as being female (even though on my site bio, that I'm male, with picture). I was even once nominationed for a Best New Female Artist award (I forget from what award). I humbly turned down the nom, but it gave me a giggle.
