Haveta agree with Comicsluvr on this.
Even in RL, even where there are "industry standards", each deal is it's own thing. It all depends on what each party feels is the best value for the work.

Quote:Per Posi's Post:Which doesn't, necessarily, say that you don't have use rewards tokens to get it (as the tokens are free).
Quote:CLARIFICATION about Masterminds (and Controllers):
Zwill said that you can choose to unlock MM and Controllers with your Paragon Reward tokens. This is INCORRECT. MM and Controllers are automatically unlocked when you have accumulated enough Paragon Reward Tokens (for existing veterans it's around 3 years). You don't even need to spend these Reward tokens to get the unlock. Of course, you can always unlock them early by buying them on the Paragon Market. -
Quote:Indeed. It's important to read what the devs say, so you can get a handle on their thinking and where they're coming from.
It's also important to see what he did not say... That encouraging multiplayer play should punish the small team or solo player (which the current system clearly does).

Quote:Yeah, I realize it may or may not be related to the OP's problem...While the entire screen flickering issue in Praetoria (during the day only, btw) has to do with your shadow settings, what you describe, Kat, sounds like it's related to your Reflective Surfaces setting. I had flickering reflective surfaces until I turned my Reflective Surfaces setting to maximum and then they stopped flickering. It does cost a couple FPS, but it worth it.
Thing is... all was fine and dandy until Tuesday's patch. Yesterday was just the first time (since patch) that I was in Ouro to notice it.
I will try sliding the reflective surface option, though... just to be sure.
Thanks

"Floating" is really just stacking. Check out this stickied thread (be sure to click on links within posts), or any of Stacker's vids.

ah hah!
I was afraid I'd come in and find nobody else with this problem.
Yesterday, I zoned out of the Hami Raid into Ouro, and was visually smacked with the pool flashing bizarrely. Hubby was on his 'puter (different system) right behind me and was not seeing it. It seems to be the water effects... all of them. I went to Talos, and the sea was flashing. I had to lower the water effect options to stop it.
I'm running on:
Win XP Home '02, svc pk 3
AMD Ath II X2 255
3.11 GHz, 3.25 GB
ATI 5770
Early last weekend (before patch) I switched my drivers to 11.3 due to crashing. Was running fine (no visual glitches) until yesterday.

Quote:While I agree that this is the appropriate thing to do...One more thing that Z failed to mention.... REPORT IT! REPORT IT! REPORT IT! They can not fix a problem if you don't tell them there is one and it's always best if you can report it when it happens. Because if the problem is not you, then they will need to have a Time frame to check out events when it happened.
Thing is, in order to "report it", you need to collect the documentation (pics/files), then log back into the game and make a report and include your documentation (or send documentation via e-mail). OR start up a ticket with support via e-mail (which may or may not get to the right folks)...
Basically, the mechanisms for reporting this kind of thing are rather convoluted. So, instead of going through all that rigamarole, a lot of folks post it here in the Tech/Bugs forums.
I bet more folks would use the proper channels, if the proper channels were easier to use. But that doesn't mean it hasn't been brought up in a very visible medium (here on the forums)... so, one would expect that somebody should have taken notice by now.

I've had this happen a few times, even before yesterday. Click the "finish" button and the task force won't clear. Seems to be an old bug.

Only thing I can think of is that they may be getting sent to a different folder somehow.
Worst case scenario in the meantime; the shot should at least be going to your clipboard, you could paste it into Paint (or other quick photo editor) immediately after taking the shot. Then save it into the proper file, then edit as desired. Drawback is, you'd have to do the paste/save business one shot at a time.

Okay, when I watched it, there was definitely a progressive creepiness to start out with. I was indeed intrigued.
I loved how you "transposed" the beauty with the grunge. As if the images of grungy reality were being "replaced" in the mind with ones of peace and serenity. Then of course, the last image of just exactly how that process was occurring... and that last scream. Then... that last phrase....
"They're coming."
And I burst out laughing.
Because, due to the doomity doom all over the forums regarding the inevitable influx of F2P'ers, the whole thing suddenly seemed VERY tongue in cheek.
I know that you started work on this project before the massive paranoia hit here, so my reaction was simply a case of ... timing, I guess.
I think it was very well done. Nice timing with the music. Nice job on the vocals. I can definitely see a progression of improvement with your vids. Keep it up.

Praetoria is a special zone (alternate dimension) for levels 1-20.
In Praetoria, you are either a Loyalist or Resistance. There are no "heros" or "villians" per se.
In Praetoria, you will get certain story arcs where the last mission will give you a choice to change your faction. You can change your faction as many times as you wish. Your choices will affect the direction of storylines and contacts that you will receive.
AT LEVEL 20, you will be given a storyline that will eventually take you to the portal to Primal Earth, where "heros" and "villians" exist. At that point, you will make the final decision to become a hero (enter Paragon City) or a villian (Rogue Isles).
But... is your decision really going to be "final"?

Here is a post consolidating the Q&A from last week.
I think this portion would help you with the question you're considering:
Quote:Q. What happens to unclaimed Veteran reward bonuses (Tailor sessions, respecs, pets, base items) when Freedom goes live? What happens to Unused extra character slots that haven't been assigned to specific server when Freedom goes live?
A. You will be able to claim all of your Veteran reward bonuses in the new system. Unused character slots will become Global Tokens that you can assign to serviers -
Quote:So you PURCHASED (36-12) + (16-12) = 28 slots... you would get 28 tokens to use wherever you like.I currently have 36 slots on Guardian and 16 on Pinnacle with no extras elsewhere.
Quote:Let's say I decided to buy 5 character slots...they sit unused for now.
Quote:However, money gets tight and I decide to drop to Premium status. I should have 35 Global Character Slot Tokens. I should also have 5 character slots that have not been allocated to any server. As I understand it these are separate things. I could apply those 5 slots to Pinnacle to raise the number of slots I have there to 21, then use my Global Character Slot Tokens to open all 21 and still have 14 left to use elsewhere. Correct?
You can use these tokens wherever you like. All your characters will be "greyed out" until you choose (use the tokens) which characters you want to play while you are in Premium status.
Leastwise, that's how I understand it.

Consider that my comments are also coming from my own position regarding bases.
I have made lists, suggestions, ranted, begged, argued logic, stimulated discussions, played devil's advocate and more to get some love for bases.
HOWEVER, I have always stopped short of telling (dictating) the devs how to run their business. In the end, I recognize it is their decision. They're gonna do what they're gonna do.
. -
Quote:You forgot 3)...1) Corporations don't put their business decisions up to a vote of the customer base -- you vote with your wallet. If this is the massive disaster you seem to be implying it will be, they'll know it by their lack of revenue (I don't for one second think that's going to be anywhere near the case).
2) The people who post on this forum are only a fraction of the active subscriber base -- so how would a "vote thread" even have much validity in the scope of truly representing their subscribers' opinions on the matter?
Quote:5. Non-Constructive posts are prohibited.
Below is a non-exhaustive list of examples of non-constructive posts. As a rule, non-constructive posting is not permitted:- Do not create threads/posts to petition for game features, additions, changes, or other issues. You may post suggestions and/or ideas to the boards, but you may not create a petition for others to sign. This is bumping in disguise and will not be allowed.
