Quick question...
Will I be given the OPTION to use my ccard instead of spending the points?
I was considering the 6 pack of server transfers, but I would rather just pay the dollar amount at this time, and save my points for other things.
Just wanted to check here if anyone has the answer before I find myself in "checkout", spending points instead of dollars. -
Quote:That is NOT correct.I haven't touch these items in a while (my base is kinda spartan now), but from what I remember, once you have claimed them you can put as many as you want in your base as long as you have the prestige to pay for them.
The items go into the personal inventory of the individual toon.
Once the toon places the items in the base, they disappear from the inventory.
If the item is deleted or "sold", it does not return to the personal inventory (unlike the regular base items which have unlimited inventory), it is gone forever. This is one of the reasons they were made reclaimable. -
Taxibot Belle, you are not the only one this has happened to...
Which is spiteful, and would be considered griefing in my book... ESPECIALLY if they are trying to "sell it back" to the "original owner". Because that implicitly implies that they knew a specific person would want the name, which means they targeted that person with a purpose. -
I think it looks more like dark mustard...
now I want a sandwich... -
Both these bugs were brought up during beta, repeatedly, but are apparently low priority.
Best thing we can do is keep at it... /bug them in game (especially the logos) and in the tech/bug boards.
In the meantime, a workaround (and a terrible one, IMO) for the veteran base items is to keep a spot open for a disposable toon:
create toon,
invite to SG,
claim items,
place items in SG,
delete toon,
begin again -

Thank YOU, Stacker, for your inspirational designs and helpful technique vids.
You will be missed. -

Love the storefront idea.
I actually had that thought in passing once upon a time... I think it was a mission where we had to save a shop, and as I entered the store, I thought to myself, "Oh this is cool.. I bet I could re-create this in the base"... Then it was on to take care of the baddies, and I never re-visited the idea. Nice to see it implemented.

Also, once it's placed in the room via the "personal item" edit mode, you can actually move it around in regular edit mode...
But if you "sell" it, it's gone (doesn't show back up in the personal item inventory). You'd have to make a new one.

Thanks for hangin' 'round the loony bin...
btw... does your lengthy stay make you staff or patient?

Quote:More specifically (and only because I know longtime players who still don't know this stuff):You have to use an image hosting site and then link it to this forum using [img] [/img]. Most of the good ones automatically save the link to your clipboard with the codes attached. I use http://photobucket.com/
- take your screenshot with or without the UI as desired;
- /screenshotui 1$$screenshot = with UI
- /screenshotui 0$$screenshot = without UI
- find your screenshot in your CoH screenshot folder. Its in whatever folder you've put your CoH files in (along with chat logs, default keybinds, costume files, etc.,.)
- trim your pic as necessary with whatever photoshopping program you prefer.
- host your pic on a site such as Photobucket or Imageshack. If you want to keep track of all the pics you host, best to start up an account.
- copy the hosted pic's URL (direct link)
- paste the url between the image tags as Klaw mentioned, or use the picture tool in the toolbar of the posting window (note: if you use the toolbar, be sure to replace the "http://" that is automatically in the popup).
I worked on this a bit last night.
Used the arcane floorpiece for the circle. Floated a large floor tile over it to just expose the edge.
Used a SG emblem floor tile to template the 5 point star.
Used the cubicle and stuck a wall light on the outer wall.
Attached the blank message board (the one that looks like wood), to the wall light.
Swiveled msg board and/or wall light as necessary to get the angles.
Removing the cubicle and wall light leaves the message board "floating".
This was no mean feat. Swiveling the lights and boards to get the angles right takes time and patience. It took me 3 hours to get this far and the angles are still not quite perfect (due to the snap grid)... and I'd have to go through it a few times in order to stretch out the lines properly.
Maybe someone else has an easier idea, but if you'd like to discuss this one further, send me a message here in the forums.
EDIT:
I should clarify the "3 hours" statement... That was the total time I spent, but I did it twice. The picture is the result of my second go 'round.

Quote:Quote:New shots of Cavill as Superman with a better look at the costume. Costumes quite a bit from the norm but, with the upcoming reboot, fitting in well with the "new" mythos. Least his hair looks right in these...not all poofy.

Yeeeeeeaaaaa... Not really crazy about the "lookit mah package" aspect to the top portion of that costume.
Other than that, I don't really mind the modernization of the look.

Brainstorms are the intermediary salvage for converting base salvage to regular invention salvage.
Base Salvage -> Brainstorms -> Invention salvage
Look at the recipes for conversions (yes, multiple recipes) on the normal crafting table (not the base invention tables).
Peruse them thoroughly, as different recipes will yield different results.

Oooo, interesting project.
I'd think the trick would be to get the angles correct with whatever items you decide to use.
Off the top of my head, the only thing I can think of to customize angles is the wall light(s). You could possibly structure a pentagram out of small wall cabinets (cubicle + wall light + cabinet), then "bury" all but the tops with a layer of floor tiles.... 'course, then you also need a circle, no?... maybe add the arcane floorpiece?
Just tossing out ideas...

You are fine to put in your TP room on a Hidden Plot.
I believe you can put any room on a Hidden Plot.
The big difference between the two plot types is that the Secure Plot allows you to put two power & control units in (plus the combo unit specific to the oversight room). The Hidden Plot only allows one of each.
Have you checked out Mad Scientist's old spreadsheet? Some of the prestige costs for plots are no longer applicable, but otherwise the room & plot stats haven't changed.
Side note: Another limitation, regardless of plot size or type, is the storage item limit of 18... total (racks, enhancie tables, inspie bins, & storage vault).

Not only is the CoP separated by red/blue, but it requires zoning into a base to make use of the SG raid 'porter. The TUT/league does not work in bases (and that is not likely to change anytime soon). If you are queued and enter a base, you will be kicked from the queue.

So, we have a case of losing base items on the one hand, but getting a long needed fix & a bone on the other hand.
While I agree it is at least some luvin', it feels... odd.
If the base item issue can be fixed, my happy dance would be happier.

Quote:It is not.One thing I noticed is that the vet reward base items apparently only award once per character on beta, rather than being able to be claimed as many times as you want like on live.
I reported it in the Paragon Rewards bug thread, but it would probably be helpful if someone else could test this and verify that it's not working for them either.
And I've also mentioned it in the PR Feedback Thread.
I've also still not seen any response to the questions I asked last week... namely, if base edit permissions were going to be tied to VIP status rather than (or in addition to?) SG permissions.

Aaaaannnd, hopefully I will be able to cross something off this list in the near future as well...
