Quote:Yep. If you wanna level fast, it's not hard at all.I look at threads like this, then I look at my friend who got some 10 levels in about three hours. And I can't help but laugh.
(If you must know, it was my lvl 50 SS/elec brute in and his level 13 or so guy, plus a heap of Borea's repeatable missions spawned for 8. Oh, how I love the new difficulty settings.) -

Quote:Okay, I'm running a Grav/Kin at the moment (in his 40's and it took a lot less time than I thought).I hear a lot about MC and stuff, but hows Gravity? is it good or bad?
The first 20 or so levels are kinda painful. This is sorta par for the course until your holds mature.
In the mid 20's your powers begin to gel quite nicely. You start being able to lock small down mobs quite effectively. And, once you get Singularity and slot it up, your effectiveness MORE than doubles.
Combine this with the buffs from /Kin and things get ugly REAAAAAL fast.

I can provide an SG base for you if you want. I'm still pretty much sitting on top of a base with a 5 million prestige grant (pre-i13) that has most of the teleporters (the city zones but no hazard/co-op zones).
I can recover a ton of it, as most of the base is still on very basic control and a turbine generator (carried over from live), and the plot size is ridiculously huge for what's in there right now.
***ADDENDUM
About half a million free at the moment. Sitting on a secure plot, all TP pads (but not all beacons) placed but had to break out into two control rooms to cover control for adding more TP beacons). If we can score the supercomputer, we can eliminate one of the control rooms and possibly drop back to a cheaper hidden plot. -

Quote:Yes it would. But then you're taking up 10 of your precious market slots. All the time. Just to horde inf.Wouldn't it be safer then to put up 10 bids of 200m each instead? In this way you could also sock away 200m at a time until the stack fills up at 2b.
As with everything in life, there are tradeoffs. -
Quote:Actually, missions provide a lot of XP. If you're expecting missions to level you twice or thrice a mission, the problem is not with the mission XP. The problem is with your unrealistic expectations.Ever since people got rid of farming there has been almost no way to level. Missions and A.E. barely give you any exp.,
The super-speed leveling of of pre-i16 AE was an anomaly.
Quote:infact the only real way to level is by joining some team and doing hard missions
Quote:but heres the problem with that, Ever since new games like Aion, barely anyone plays anymore so it's hard to get a team.
Quote:So in my opinion people should bring back farming so that people can actually start leveling again and these problems will go away.
The longer answer. HELL NO.
A more complete and comprehensible answer. Farming never stopped and is still going now. Merely a subset of power levelling was culled because hardcore farmers no longer need fillers to push mobs up to 8-man teams.
Quote:Anyone who agrees please respond, and if farming is decided to be put back in respond.
Quote:I am beging you to put farming back in because for me one place I go to every ones to weak and everwhere else they are to strong.
1: Bump the level of the enemies relative to you. Start at +1. If you're slaughtering them easily enough, try +2. Then +3. And so on.
2: Bump the number of heroes/villains you're equivallent to. This will bump the size of the spawns you fight. Default is, weirdly, equivallent to 0 heroes/villains. Bump it to 1 hero and test. Then bump to 2 and test.
3: Mark that you want to fight bosses. Bosses, while harder to fight, provide a fairly hefty XP bump over liutenants.
4: Any reasonable combination of the previous 3 solutions that you can handle.
Run right to the ragged edge of what you can realistically handle with the toon. It'll be more fun, and you'll be levelling quite fast (though not 3-20 times a mission).
If this answer is not acceptable to you, I'm sorry (well, not really, but it sounds nicer), but it's the best answer you're ever going to see for this. -

Quote:If you're not an "I hate Dell" guy, take a look at the Studio XPS 16.Hey techies!
Pretty knowledgeable with desktop PC's, laptop not so much.
I have been given a budget of up to $2000 for a gaming laptop. I only play Co* at the moment so that's my main concern. I have to retire my "ugly" PC tower since the little one on the way is taking my man-room. The "ugly" PC tower is not allowed on the telephone desk.
Any suggested places to go to get a gaming rig?
Any suggestions for a specific laptop that will run Co* full blast?
Thanks in advance!
2.13 Ghz (base) CPU
ATI Mobility Radeon 4670
6GB of RAM
True 16" 1920x1080 Screen
3 Year Warranty
Blue Ray optical
$1864 + shipping
If you want to step down from a Blue Ray optical to a standard DVD player, you could bump the CPU from the 2.13Ghz to a 2.8Ghz and the price'll be $1889.
That should fairly well stomp all over CoX. -
Quote:I'd like to help. Unfortunately the time-frame isn't good for me (I get off work at 3PM CST exactly). We're gonna try for this Sunday at 3 PM CST (that's 4 PM EST and 1 PM PST) - If this time works for Sam.
If we could jog this an hour later, I'd chuck a toon at this. -
I used to hold off until the late 20's to start slotting L30 IOs.
However, with the price of recipies and the salvage for most, being fairly reasonable (especially when I'm picking it up in missions), I've started slotting melee toons as early as 17 (with L20's).
While they're not QUITE as nice as ++ DOs, they last a lot longer, and I'm finding I'm actually SAVING money in the long run. As I level up past 20, I simply slot IOs into new power slots at the maximum level I can mount. Once I hit 35 or so, I being swapping out lower-level IOs for higher ones and sets. -
Hey there! Welcome to the game and Protector!
Quote:tried the 14-day trial a week or two ago, hit the L 14 trial cap and decided to sign up and become a paying customer.
Quote:Been soloing about 98% of the time - currently in Steel Canyon running around. Been running some missions - solo of course. Was able to hook up with 2 groups so far - that is some insane fun. Wish the game had voice support for those group efforts, maybe I just missed it.
Quote:Ice/Ice Blaster - L18 - practicing to pull villains as solo blaster so as not to get over run. Practicing range, hold, melee, and retreat when needed. Not sure how the whole inventions and recipes thing works - still sorting that part out. I have been using/buying/upgrading enhancements to fill power slots. The other short term power drops - forgot the names - come in very handy when soloing.
Other inventions are things like temp powers to boost resistances, etc.
And I think the "short term power drops" you're thinking about are Inspirations. And yes, they're dead useful.
Quote:Located CST (GMT-6) normally play 8:00pm to 10:30pm nights - a bit more on weekends perhaps. Older player - so if we hook up dont run so fast through the mission.
Quote:Other games I play - World War 2 Online active since November 2002 - now you know I am nuts, EVE for 2 years running, DDO for 1 year (discontinued) and LOTRO for 1 year (discontinued).

Quote:No. It was 7-9 Central Time.Isn't this the same as its been for a while now?
That's 8am-10am US Central, which is what it has been.
*confuzzled*
Now it's 6-8 Central Time.
Was playing a bit this morning and got the Admin blurb and went "HUH!?!?!?". Then I remembered the time change. -
Not QUITE. Blue-side? Sure. Red-side? The Marshal Brass arc has a mission in there that is almost all shivans (just watch out for Professor Echo). Solo, it'd take several run/reset cycles. On an 8-man team? One or two runs.

Quote:If you remember his local handle, just do:One of the nicest teammates we've ever picked up was around 12 playing on his dad's account. He was so happy when he found out it was a Mom, dad and teenager playing.
I'm still kicking myself for not adding him as a global friend.

Same here. And I actually caught myself LEGITIMATELY using "I'm old enough to be your father." to to someone in their late teens and had to go wash my mouth out with hydrochloric acid.

Quote:Okay, not to be a dick or anything.This. I'd much rather see pets hanging around than someone running Quills, "Rocking the aura", or with a power like Foot Stomp set on auto.
And, as the OP stated, he'd moved his minions away from the BM to not be a nuisance. BUT...
Running Quills, Rocking the Aura, and FS on auto do NOT block access to the shadies in the market. Minions CAN.
I'd much rather put up with the thwack of Quills, an aura, or some doofus who forgot to turn off FS than have to try to wade my way through a sea of minions (who are unmoveable) to get at a the BM personnel because some MM was careless/thoughless/ignorant/etc. -

Quote:Mine's been grabbing over 1.3GB of system memory pretty much since I started playing. Of course, my main machine has 8GB of RAM, so it's not noticeable, and my laptop has 4GB of RAM as well.Normally when I play COH if I look at the process in Task Manager it usually goes up to between 750 - 850 megs of memory usage. But since I16 it climbs and climbs going easily over 1GB and sometimes really cuase my PC to go nuts. I have 2 GB memory, so I dont have to do a lot of disk swapping - but it sometimes really causes slowdowns and even crashed me a few times as the memory usage gets higher and higher.
I'm just wondering if this is a known issue and has anyone been seeing this. -
Quote:Considering I already have the original MOs on my main red and blue, and that the new MO TFs have been....flaky, I'm not too chuffed about not being able to zerg it.I fully expect my rep stalker to have something smart to say but...
