Leveling Problems

Ever since people got rid of farming there has been almost no way to level. Missions and A.E. barely give you any exp., infact the only real way to level is by joining some team and doing hard missions, but heres the problem with that, Ever since new games like Aion, barely anyone plays anymore so it's hard to get a team. So in my opinion people should bring back farming so that people can actually start leveling again and these problems will go away. Anyone who agrees please respond, and if farming is decided to be put back in respond. I am beging you to put farming back in because for me one place I go to every ones to weak and everwhere else they are to strong.

Apart from, you know, playing the game.

A radical thought, I know, but people did it for, gosh, going on five years there before Farm Architect was implemented.

Good thought, but really all you do while playing is Missions which as I said earlier barely gave you any exp.

you should have been trying the actual content, before the AE was implemented, which is still there. if it bothers you to actually play the game then maybe games aren't the thing for you. don't expect to just sit there and have blind invites thrown up in your face, get out and start your own teams and run missions. you will level pretty fast doing that. get a radio/paper and do those missions until you get a contact. then go to the contact and do those missions. and please do not blame other games for your lack of teaming ability. people are in level appropriate zones doing missions. so find out what zone is appropriate for your combat lv and go there.

i give you a 2/10 uniquedragon rating.

Thats funny my wife and I just rolled two new toons and leveled from 1-14 in just a handful of hours in ONE day doing normal ingame mish's. After a week of playing casualy we are already up to level 27 and we are not playing daily, and at this rate will probably be up to 50 by the end of next month if not way sooner.

Don't turn off your XP.

Funny how I seem to have gotten so many characters past level 1 in the past five years, even before patrol XP, XP smoothing, double XP weekends, more XP smoothing, XP bumps and all the other BS.

Try not stealthing missions.

Try running missions that arent' grey to you.

If you have half a clue how to play, bump up your rep.

If all that's sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo difficult, try this instead.

and another reason that there seem to be less people on is because the halloween event is on test server right now and people are testing it to make sure it comes to live with as little bugs as possible.

Actually, missions provide a lot of XP. If you're expecting missions to level you twice or thrice a mission, the problem is not with the mission XP. The problem is with your unrealistic expectations.

The super-speed leveling of of pre-i16 AE was an anomaly.

No. Not really. I have several characters in their late teens and early 20's. All created since i16 dropped. In all but two cases, ZERO teaming went on. I even have a Stone/Fire brute at the moment who's LEVEL PACTED (so he's essentially earning half XP) who's already in his early 20's. L19-21 came in two nights, with L20 and L21 on the same night.

Okay, this plaint has been given many times for people who aren't trying hard to form teams. Simply standing around broadcasting "L# [INSERT AT HERE] LFT!" is a poor team-forming activity. Attempting to build or invite teams from /search is marginally better. But, by and far, the best way to do so is to start joining and participating in the global chat rooms for your server. Better still, augment it by friending and global-friending people you play with that you'd like to play with again. This way, when they're on, you can always ask if they want to team or have space.

The short answer. NO.
The longer answer. HELL NO.
A more complete and comprehensible answer. Farming never stopped and is still going now. Merely a subset of power levelling was culled because hardcore farmers no longer need fillers to push mobs up to 8-man teams.

Please, do NOT hold your breath for this. This is an ARGH (Ain't Really (or Realistically) Gonna Happen).

You have a several options open to you to speed up your levelling speed if you feel you're moving too slow, aside from attempting to find teams.

1: Bump the level of the enemies relative to you. Start at +1. If you're slaughtering them easily enough, try +2. Then +3. And so on.

2: Bump the number of heroes/villains you're equivallent to. This will bump the size of the spawns you fight. Default is, weirdly, equivallent to 0 heroes/villains. Bump it to 1 hero and test. Then bump to 2 and test.

3: Mark that you want to fight bosses. Bosses, while harder to fight, provide a fairly hefty XP bump over liutenants.

4: Any reasonable combination of the previous 3 solutions that you can handle.

Run right to the ragged edge of what you can realistically handle with the toon. It'll be more fun, and you'll be levelling quite fast (though not 3-20 times a mission).

If this answer is not acceptable to you, I'm sorry (well, not really, but it sounds nicer), but it's the best answer you're ever going to see for this.

I look at threads like this, then I look at my friend who got some 10 levels in about three hours. And I can't help but laugh.

(If you must know, it was my lvl 50 SS/elec brute in and his level 13 or so guy, plus a heap of Borea's repeatable missions spawned for 8. Oh, how I love the new difficulty settings.)

Yep. If you wanna level fast, it's not hard at all.
