Yup. Zero liability problems there...

Having done something like this in the past (swag generation, though I've looked into rocket packs a time or two), I can understand why Paragon might be somewhat...reticent to do it.
Going with a simple CP site might be fairly hassle-free, but you can open yourself up to quality issues that way. Quite easily. You're also limiting yourself as to what can actually be produced.
Being more adventurous and quality oriented gets some poor bastich stuck with the job of quartermaster and inventory handler. A thankless, brain-meltingly mind-numbing condemnation to ultimate horror if ever there was one.
Additionally, there's the fact that the up-front costs for DIY are not insignificant. -

Okay, I'm one for centralizing the entrance in some way.
(Note: All views have North at the top of the map.)
(Note: Click on the provided image for a larger copy.)
Here's what I did with my original base.
Superheroes Anonymous

Now SA's base grew "organically". This basically means I slapped it together as the prestige came in. As such, it's not really horrendously symmetrical. But it IS organized.
In the center you have the entrance. Everything "spokes" off that. The medbay is immediately to the west of the entry. The teleport hangar is due south. And the workshop area (with a second story storage area) is due east. A second workshop area is due north of the first and not very organized. I use it (and spare prestige) to show people about base crafting and stacking tricks.
The control area is immediately north of the entrance and it's left unblocked as that's where the Ourboros crystal is. Plus I want to show off my splefty AES on the ceiling too (that big black thing blocking off your view of the floor).
Immediately west of the control room is the energy room. We're dual power (because I think the Arcane Vault looks schmexier than the Tech version.
Next is my VG base.
Darkest Deeds

Again, this one grew organically too. But some effort was made to make it so.
Again, a more or less centrally located entrance. The medbay just north of the entrance. The teleporters is a bank down the west side. I found that, for villain-side, the largest TP room was just a waste of space.
The decorative room is holding our meager air force of two Arachnos fliers and a few captured Longbow fliers.
The latest addition is the crafting area in the southern-most end of the map.
Control and Power are off on their own little spur.
Then, here's how I did it for the MidLevel Crisis marketing SG. When I came in, we had a couple million prestige built up and stuff dropped with some vague-ish plans of organizing it later. The kind of thing that makes my fingers just ITCH.
So here's what we did.
MidLevel Crisis

Again, the layout is somewhat similar to the Darkest Deeds base. But a bit more in the way of organization. The base is, essentially, three corridors.
At the northernmost, and mostly central point, you have the entrance at the top of the service corridor. Immediately south is the med center with the ubiquitous inspiration storage and AutoDoc in addition to the reclaimator.
South of that you have the control and power rooms.
To the west, you have the transport corridor with the teleporters.
To the east, you have the crafting corridor (we're the fricking marketing group, could you expect anything less?)
This base, save for adding the rest of the telepads when we get the prestige, is essentially done. We're coming close to max storage items as well and we have several people dedicated to making sure the storage bins are neatly organized too.
I'd also show you the SA base or my VG (which I didn't design, but which IS raid-worthy) on Test, but I don't have a test install on my laptop and the Win7 machine produces black screenshots which I haven't had time to troubleshoot yet.
Hope this post, basic as it was, provided some insight, and maybe a couple ideas (be they "what to do" or "what not to do"). I'm a big fan of "basic". I like elaborate bases too. But I'm a big "functionality over form" kinda person. I've been to a couple base mazes (and I am using the term disparagingly) and been driven nuts just trying to find my way around. -

Quote:Okay, TO's are the lowest level enhancements in the game. You're getting roughly a 5-6% boost per slotted enhancer. While it's not useless, it's not going to make a massive difference in hits and misses at low levels unless you're slotting LOTS of them.I'm still mostly using the Training enhancements, where do I get the better ones? Do NPC's sell them or do I have to rely on drops and the AH?
Thanks
Once you hit 12, you can start slotting Dual Origin enhancers. These are roughly double the effectiveness of TOs. You'll start missing less at this point.
Also, if you're running Magic origin, and you have another toon that's completed the Rescuer badge in Faultline, Mr. Yin will sell them special low level Single-Origin enhancers that are double the effectiveness of DOs. Slotting one or two of these pretty much reduce your chances of missing to "not too freaking often".
Note: If you're another origin, look at the link to Mr. Yin to see what you CAN get from him. Because you can mount less of those and double up on Acc or something else and still come out ahead.
Once you hit L22, you can start just mounting up Single Origin enhancers. This is about the time your power choices start gelling REALLY nicely. -
Quote:I just upgraded from a G mode USB wireless adaptor to an N mode internal PCI card as the USB adaptor seemed to be on it's way out giving very poor connection speed. The new internal card is giving a much better connection overall enabaling much faster up and down load speeds, but in gave I'm experienceing a lag and rubber banding a lot more often. The WW/BM interface opens much quicker and maps load a lot faster than before, but my new found lag is making things hard to play at times, frequently hitting lag spike while legging it past +2/3/4/5 mobs and snapping back on low health or dead.
Anyone have any ideas on what I can do or how I can test the card to make sure it's performing ok?
It's possible that your AP (Access Point) is the culprit.
Try plugging in directly (hard wired network) for a bit and see if the condition remains. Do this as close to the Internet "source" as you can. From the cable/DSL modem. If the condition persists, it's likely something with your connection.
After that, if your router is a separate piece of equipment from your cablemodem, hook that up and hook up to the router. Again check and see if the condition persists.
After that, step back to the wireless AP. Also, check to make sure the AP is locked down. If you're running wide open, likely you're getting someone leeching net from you. You may think you're doing something nice for people, but it's a case of "give an inch, take a light-year".
Also, make sure firmware is up-to-date.
Make sure you're also running on the latest drivers for the wireless card too.
Also, is your AP N-standard too? It's possible it's freaking out over the multiple tranceiver connections it's getting from a badly behaving N card.
Note: That's about everything off the top of my noggin. There's more stuff you could probably do, but it's 4:30 in the morning and my brain has roughly the activity of a month-dead roadkill right now. -
If I'm not mistaken, that's how it worked when I signed up back in 2008.

Quote:Actually no it isn't.The Steel Canyon flaming buildings can one-shot you when they explode.
It's doing several ticks of insanity-level damage. There was a big discussion on this a while back and how much damage it did.
Since each "tick" is a separate hit, it neatly sidesteps the oneshot code. -
Okay I can see what you were trying to do (soft-cap ALL typed defenses).
It worked.
But you're now WAY over-slotted on your defenses and resists and way underslotted on your attacks.
You aren't actually going to be able to defeat anything in a timely manner. -
Quote:Okay the reason it was made an inherent in the first place was because of the way people were treating taunt powers in the first place. That taunt component that Tanker attacks already have is Gauntlet. I suggest they keep that...just not as the inherent.
While tanker damage isn't SPECTACULAR, there's nothing inherently BAD about it.Quote:I understand they already have access to build up powers...but this suggestion is an effort to help Tanker damage. -
Quote:Heck flipping /jranger!I suggest that they take the Gaunlet Inherent and just add it to the primary powers.
Nah. There'd be a tradeoff someplace. Probably in resistances/defense. I like my defenses where they are right now.Quote:Then add a new Inherent...along the line of domination...where you have to take damage for the click power to build up...the click power being something along the lines of a build up power that only affects damage.
Yeah. It'll be worse for tankers since their attacks are mostly their secondaries. You'll have a class that STILL isn't doing butt-tons of damage because it's:Quote:Think of the Fury bar...where taking hits builds up the percentage...and when your not taking hits it goes down.
A: Running out of End.
B: Doesn't have enough attacks to make a viable chain yet.
C: Still doing crap base damage.
In other words, being even MORE crippled by giving us a weak-sister Fury.Quote:This new Tanker inherent does not build up for attacking...it only build up for gettin hit or being attacked.
Sorry. Don't care for it.Quote:What do you think? -
Quote:Which, as I said, you can have just by turning on the option in the graphics menu. You don't need an Ageia PhysX card to run Ageia PhysX in CoX.

Now some people are saying that PhysX still works without it showing.
Some people say it doesn't. I have no real way to prove it does or does not. -

Quote:Actually I'm noticing this kind of front-loading in regular missions (not just AE lately).I just put that same map in my newest arc. I have to admit I didn't watch the nav text as closely as I should have, but I do suspect that map's a touch buggy because the last time I ran through it a collection I had set for 'back' actually showed up within a hundred yards of the entry. :P
Especially hard-hit are the First couple Magic Man instances.
Several times now I've run in, and if not the first mob, the second is the boss you have to defeat. -

Torch: This sucks! Why did that Lost guy want our TV? -
Quote:As I said, no AGEIA PhysX.No, it doesn't. For CoX, the PhysX is done in a virtual machine that gets installed with the PhysX drivers. I have no Ageia PhysX card, but I have PhysX turned on in the game and see the effects (flying banana peels, etc). Also, any Nvidia card of 8xxx vintage or later will do PhysX acceleration for other games.

I dunno. Maybe I'm reading too much into this.

Trippy! -
Quote:I'd love to run everything at 1920x1200 (native res for my monitor). As for AA? Uhm... that I've never really thought about. I'll usually turn that down first if I'm trying to improve performance in a game. I remember the last time I turned it off I wished it was turned on, but I got over it pretty quickly.
Okay, currently on my GTX260, I'm running:
1920x1080 with screen resolution and scaling matching.
Refresh rate is 60 hz.
Gamma at 100%
Advanced settings enabled.
Suppress FX when close disabled
No AGEIA PhysX (Requires an actual old-style PhysX card)
Particle Physics Quality: Very High
World Texture Quality: Very High
Character Texture Quality: Very High
World Detail: 200%
Character Detail: 200%
Max Particle Count: 50,000
VSync: Enabled
FSAA 4x (Max for my card)
Shadows: Enabled
Use Geometry Buffers: Enabled
Anisotropic Filtering: 16x
Texture Crispness: Smooth
Shader Quality: High
Water Effects: High Quality
Depth of field Effects: Enabled
Bloom Effects: Heavy
Bloom Amount: 200%
Desaturation Effects: Enabled.
Currently my setup runs just fine and the only time I get lag is when the lag is server-side (so my tray buttons lag).
Basically this is as high as the settings go. Though I'll probably have to kick it back a bit once GR goes out so I can run Ultra Mode.
If you're looking at a 5850 or 5870, it'll do just fine as well. -
Quote:Can you dump the output of a traceroute to here?have deleted cookies, temporary internet files and flushed the DNS. Tried running traceroute but hard to make heads or tails of it.
Maybe someone will reboot between here and Dallas maybe.
Thanks for all the replies. Will just have to hope for the best.
If you're having trouble copying it out of the command prompt window here's how you pipe it to a text file.
Essentially the > tells it to kick the output to the specified path for a text file then creates said text file.Code:tracert www.coh.com > C:\traceroute.txt

Bah. Taunt is a tool. But, since I also have a psi proc slotted, it can be another AoE weapon too.

You sure that wasn't from Lady Walloftext?

Quote:Have you tried flushing your browser cache? My It guys can't access it from their computers either and have told me that they believe the problem may be in a hop somewhere. The primary line we are allowed to use is a DSL line by Bellsouth. Just wondred if I was the only one.
Hopefully somewhere down the information pipe this gets resolved.
