    Cut scene spam

Okay, I spam cut scenes every now and again. Not an all-the-time thing.

    I look at it thus.

Most cut scenes are roughly a minute.
    I can't avoid them.
    So I'm essentially just stuck.
If this happens while I'm in combat I'm doubly ticked off.
I'm (ostensibly) an adult (LIES! ALL LIES!).
If I want to make snarky comments during the scene, that's wasting my time and possibly getting me killed, to amuse myself I will.

If someone running the TF doesn't want that sort of stuff, they need to ask BEFOREHAND that it not happen. I'm usually willing to accommodate them.

If they want to female dog me out AFTER THE FACT, they get the same double-barreled digitus impudicus I give to the professionally offended thought police who cry and try to tell me what I can and cannot say when I tell a risque joke.

The definition of hyperbole contains no benchmarks for magnitude.

Note: My calling his statement hyperbolic does NOT mean I think he's incorrect, wrong, lying, etc. It merely means I'm not prepared to delve into an argument to see who is "right".

    Demonstrably untrue.

Various damage sets provide all sorts of typed resistance as set bonuses.

Granted, the bonuses are small, so this is somewhat nit-picky. Still, incorrect notions such as this shouldn't be allowed to propagate.

Technically Dark Armor DOES suck. "Siphon Life"? All the dead bodies around you prove it!

Honestly though. The minute someone starts with the *[INSERT POWER OR POWER COMBO HERE] Sucks!*, I just have a natural tendency to stop listening to them. This kind of weak non-argument is usually a great indicator that what few brains they have are most likely dribbling out through their ears at that moment.

Call it what you like. You can't deny that Dark Armor has the capability to excel, perhaps more than any other set.
As I've said. Just about any set can be made to perform excellently when built properly. Dark Armor is no exception. As to "more than any other set", I'm not going to start into hyperbole.

No. I understood exactly what he was saying. I merely disagree.

Try the same on a defense capped stone, invulnerability, fire, willpower, or shield tank. Tell me how they do when their endurance bottoms out.

Edit: Whoops, stone does have end drain resist in rooted.
And there are other forms of mitigation or avoidance of low-end situations.
On my namesake, I'm defense capped Inv/SS. I have to be actively careless to bottom out my endurance.

As I've said above, the video doesn't really provide a good demonstration of DA solely on it's own merits.

No I'm not telling you you have to play up a DA tank. My point is, the video better points out the strengths of the defense cap, augmented by DA powers than the strengths of DA's abilities.

If you read anything else into this statement, the ideas are wholly yours.

No. This video highlights the strengths of a well planned build. Something which is NOT unique to DA in any way, shape or form.

Try the same on a common IO, Hami-O, or cheaply non-set frankenslotted build and then tell me about the strengths of DA.

Note: I'm NOT saying DA is bad. It isn't. I'm simply disagreeing that showing off a defense-capped build is really showing off the strengths of DA.
  10. Better base editing tools. Consistent layout for doorways, the ability to lay out a base on a block-by-block basis rather than preset (and usually space-wasting) rooms. Built-in ability to set multiple levels in a room (and/or better yet the base as a whole).

Not quite true, actually. The mission has patrols in it which you're not supposed to attack. IIRC, there's one patrol, and killing it calls an ambush (and killing the ambush calls a second ambush); if you kill both of the ambushes, you fail. There's also a boss you're not supposed to kill, but that's easy since he's just in the middle of the final room.

If you don't touch the patrol, you're absolutely fine. The patrol will attack if they see you, but the point is that you're meant to stealth through the mission. And since I don't ever recall encountering Drones in the mission, that's not a problem either.
Yeah. There are a couple missions like this.
I stealth in, complete, then bust heads on the way out.
Very hard to fail a successfully completed mission.

    Short answer: No.

Long answer: No. This is what the difficulty settings are for. Play with them a bit. Crank them up from +0x1. Early on, you'll level almost every mission.

It'll be tough fights and you'll die some. But you'll make XP hand over fist. Later on, you'll level every 2-3 missions. If you survive one of these missions without dying even once or even coming close, your difficulty is too low and could be bumped another notch.

Try to keep the missions +1 to you, save in certain instances (like the the Frostfire and Atta missions, where you'll level several times in one map), bump it to +2 and bring purples. This way, by the end of the mission you're not fighting gray-cons for no XP.

Not QUITE right. Pretty close though.

There are several sets that provide a 7.5% recharge bonus.
HOWEVER, these can be stacked with the Luck Of The Gambler 7.5% recharge global IO.
Because it's not the actual AMOUNT of the bonus that matters. It's the name used for the bonus. The set bonus 7.5's are different from those provided by the LOTG global IO.

Yeah. The prestige power slide actually trumps NR for the movement animation. So you get a nice speedy slide.

Look at the state both markets are in right now.

  19. I've been preoccupied. So I hadn't actually even seen this thread.

I got caught logging in for a quickie on one of my alts and happened to see Rasta BS'ing about first bloom cleared.

Popped over on a Fire^3 Blaster and found out we hadn't started yet.

Anyhow, took us a bit to get the 4-ish teams. But we did.

Monsters: Took a while and I filled up on EoEs. Finally we got Jello.
First bloom: Went VERY nicely. Our team recall was a smidge late and a couple of us got croaked.
Second bloom: Was a bit tougher. We were having problems keeping holds on the greens so we could get them killed. Recall came in nicely.
Third bloom: We got splashed with Hami aggro on this one (or maybe that was second). OW. Still, it went more smoothly than the second bloom. Recall actually came early. Was okay though. I'd been sitting above Hami raining fire down on him and just went orbital when the bloom spawned back in.
Final bloom: Went off fairly nicely. Still having a bit of trouble keeping the greens held but c'est la vie.
    I went for merits meself.

All in all, for the amount of people we had it went off nicely. Could probably use a few more controllers next time (may grab my Grav/Kin).
  20. Okay, taking into account your budget, I agree with Human's suggestion of Vidcard and power supply.

After that, honestly I think you'd benefit (in-game) more from more memory, rather than a new CPU.

Your CPU isn't BLAZINGLY fast, but it's well beyond median spec for the game and should handle the offload of physics processing just fine.

As he warned, pop the case first and see how many modules are inside. Likely it's 2 1GB sticks (common tactic for reducing costs is to use cheaper modules and just more of them). This means you'll need to buy two sticks. If, by some chance, you lucked out and got a single stick at 2GB, then just buy a single 2GB stick.

I'd still give Acer a call and see what's the fastest chip you can put into the machine. Then save up for a couple months for the chip.

As you've noted though. Your other option is to simply sit on the funds for a bit, save up a bit more, and snag a new system.

Actually, unless this person is spending ALL their time at 50, it kinda DOES matter. Remember, exemping down will strip the person of powers and set bonuses.

Additionally, taking both Punch and and Jab, then Boxing and just not slotting Boxing?

And honestly? The recharge bonus in DP isn't really worth it. You'd be better off three-slotting recharge IOs and using the other two slots elsewhere.

If you strip off one of your attacks to slot punch, you could take Hasten or move things down and take Conserve Energy.

I also question the need for Unstoppable at all (let alone three-slotting it for recharge) on a build going for defense cap.

If you transfer to a server where your toon's name is already taken, you become "Toon's Name_1" IIRC.

I forget if you're given a rename or not.
