While I'd love a torrent too, the whole idea for the updater is that Paragon has control over the files pulled down.
With a torrent, they relinquish this sort of control, as the download is distributed across a group of machines they have no direct control over. -

You're forgetting defense debuffs.
DA can act as a (forgive the pun) buffer against incoming defense debuffs.
Oh no! Someone debuffed your defense by 30%! AUUGH! Now it's only 50% defense! OHNOEZ!
If you're among enemies who are debuff-light or don't debuff, simply go for a maximum-damage chain.
If you're among heavy-debuffing enemies, use DA to keep you unhittable in a maximum-damage-with-DA chain. -

Have them "borrow" the money and then "pay you back" with the vidcard.
Make sure they "lose" the receipt so it can't be returned (unless something's wrong with the card).
And if the "no food" thing isn't working, try the "no nookie, sleep on the couch" thing for a bit. He'll cave faster than a house of cards in a hurricane. -

You're slotting for defense. Outside of the -KB IO, that's really about the only reason anyone slotted them in the first place. Cheap (slot-count-wise) defense.

Ran into this last night on my Fire/Rad team doing the Freakalympics.
Weird thing though, the Imps seemed to still be able to target them. -
I moved two mostly-unplayed brutes off Protector to another server (forget which at the moment). Mostly to free up valuable slots for post-GR toons.
I also moved an L50 Stone/Dark tank off Freedom and onto Virtue so I had a 50 available to me on most of the servers I play on.
That's really about it. -

Red boxes/triangle/shields usually signify a damage buff.
Blue ones? Usually an end/regen buff.
Maybe purple? If purple, usually a defense buff.
The Tower is one of the buff types granted by the Mystic Fortune temp power. Follow the link to see what it means. -
