Sorry. Didn't see a tell from you.

    A...remarkably smooth night of ToT-slash-GM Hunting-slash-Banner Event.

The only thing we weren't able to pick up on was the Zombie invasion.

We slew a couple Eochais in Talos before heading on to PI3.

We then proceeded to ToT our brains out. And yes, outside of a few miscues, we just absolutely took the Trick villains to the woodshed. Stopping only for a conveniently timed banner event.

We were killing so much and so fast that we wound up with all the kill badges, and one of our guys made 14 levels in 90 minutes and people were going head-splody left right and center.

We took a break and went after GMs again. Got another Eochai, decided to thwap a couple of the other monsters on Monster Island, and then picked up Jack in Portal Court.

I'd hoped to pick up one of the themed tips, but no such luck. Perhaps Monday.

All in all, one solid wave of BURNNUKEKILLKILLKILL!

    VERY impressive guys.

And Obama WISHES he was a Fire/Rad.
  5. They COULD be giving you the reception a couple good buddies from South Park got after an EPIC run of Guitar Hero!

So try to keep it in perspective guys.

As always, so long as there are no Fire/Rads looking to fill the slot, you're welcome. If there are, they take precedence.

"I want" and "fix this" are not "suggestions". They're demands or expressions of desire or requests for help.

As such they belong in the technical support section.

So, now my suggestion, which I will edit my original post to reflect, is allow Shader Quality to be changed when you set your graphics to Quality or Higher. Right now, by tweaking with advance settings, you can get the same graphics without losing access to shader options by setting to Recommended or lower and raising the advanced settings. That's rather.... unintuitive.
Maybe, but it does help avoid unforeseen graphics glitches due to certain things not being turned on when they should and interacting with other settings in an unforeseen manner.

Okay, my standard answer for this from now on is "Are you a Fire/Rad?"

If the answer is "yes", then you're ALWAYS of the appropriate level.

    Got it?
  10. Okay Ghost Rider, Spidey and Cap fit about the best in the mixed themes.

The rest range from "meh" to "bad".
  11. Okay guys. The Halloween event is upon us.

And a group of Fire/Rads are rather uniquely suited to this event.

    *KNOCK*KNOCK*KNOCK*
    Fire/Rad 1: Trick or Treat!
    Witches/Wolves/Vampires/Ghosts: TRICK*COUGH*COUGH*COUGH*DEAD!*
Fire/Rad 2: Wow. THAT was underwhelming. Maybe we should up the diff?
    Fire/Rad 3: Uh, we're already at +4.
Fire/Rad 4: Okay we've been at this 15 minutes and have everything already, let's go hunt GMs.
    Eochai: *COUGH*COUGH*COUGH*DEAD!*
    Eochai: *COUGH*COUGH*COUGH*DEAD!*
    Fire/Rad 5: We have a Jack!
    Jack: *COUGH*COUGH*COUGH*DEAD!*
Fire/Rad 6: I wish he'd wear underwear. There are some things man is not meant to know...
Fire/Rad 7: So how many merits have we racked up already?
    Fire/Rad 8: I lost count after the 50th GM...

Anyone have any problems with a little ToT for temp costumes, costume salvage, and GM hunting?

One thing to remember though, this IS on Freedom. So the server is likely to be QUITE busy. If we do this, you probably want to log on early to avoid getting queued.

We can continue with Maria Jenkins next week.
  13. Okay, as others have pointed out, if you're "merely" healing people, you're wasting a full 60 to 75% of your character's full potential.

For defenders you're providing four things:

    1. Healing
    2. Team Buffs
    3. Foe Debuffs
    4. Additional Damage
And those aren't in any particular order. There are times, especially on steamroller teams, where healing just isn't all that necessary. ESPECIALLY with good team buffs and foe debuffs. At that point, adding more damage to plow through the enemies is a MUCH better use of your endurance than blithely healing the infinitesimal amount of damage being accrued.

For defenders, you're providing five things. Again, in no particular order, and in slightly more diluted form:

    1. Healing
    2. Team Buffs
    3. Foe Debuffs
    4. Additional Damage
    5. Control
Technically you could sort-of group #3 and #5 together, but they're distinct enough in effect that I've listed them separately.

Again, with good team buffing, foe debuffing, and good control, the enemy simply is NOT doing damage (or at least not enough to warrant a heavy-duty, aura-rocking heal-bot). They're simply standing there, doing nothing, or at worst, doing very little.

So, before asking "how do I make a full-on "healer", ask yourself if you really are making a full contribution to ANY team you happen to come across.

Oh yes, as to a "healer".

With the various temp powers, craftable powers, not to mention an entire ancillary power pool, ANY and ALL AT's in this game can be a "healer". You have the potential to be SO much more than that.

    Don't waste it.

Not the greatest screenie, but this is us after completing an (I think) deathless Citadel. It all kinda went by in a blur. So many caves, so many uniformly faceless enemies. Hell, we even smacked down Vandal without so much as blinking.
  15. Great run tonight. We had a couple new (to us) players on board and we wound up just completely wiping five tip missions in under an hour.

After that we gave GM hunting a quick stab. Jurassik was the first to feel our fulsome fusillade of firey fury. Cue one smoking pile of rubble!

Then, after a bit more searching, we caught Babbage hiding in a corner in Boomtown. Wierded us the hell out though. After a couple whacks, he launched for orbit! No, seriously, there was this HUGE leap and he was up on top of the nearby building! We're sitting there going ????????

Finally he got his cojones back and stopped hiding from us. We then proceeded to rambunctiously rout his rage whilst rising to ridiculous regions of radness.

And now that I have all that aliteration out of the way, I bid you good night!

    Tonight's participants.

  19. Just an FYI people.

    Fire/Rads is TONIGHT! 9PM Eastern.

If you want to be super, play a Fire/Rad.
If you want to be a GOD, play on a team FULL of Fire/Rads!

And yeah Blue, we were running +2x8 for a bit there. So TPK's happen in an occasional, but startlingly rapid manner.

We need to try and stay grouped a bit better. When we spread out too far, or have people jumping ahead, it exacerbates this sorta thing.

And again, we take ANYONE who has the cojones to put together a Fire/Rad and jump into the frying pan with us.
  20. Just an FYI people.

    Fire/Rads is TONIGHT!

    Be there, or be square.

And yeah SD, we take anyone who wants to show up sporting a Fire/Rad.

Okay, I can understand "no longer enjoy", or "tired of". But "hate"? REALLY?

That you can actually "hate" something you've played for five years and put hundreds of dollars into points to a certain lack of grounding on the issue.

    Quote:
I spent five years playing this game and I SHOULD have left a year ago but I kept playing because my wife played.
No. You kept playing because YOU found a reason to keep playing. I'm quite sure your wife didn't strap you to a chair and flagellate you with a wet noodle to make you log on and play.

    And if she did? KINKY!

    Quote:
After a year of focring myself to do something I don't enjoy I have come to loath it. You can not argue with me about my opinion and frankly that is what you seem to be doing.
Again, your opinion has a certain lack of objectivity to it, and you're probably long overdue for a break from the game.

    Quote:
I stand by the statement that anyone who would play this game without recieving ANY new content and continue paying for the service would be a fanboy.
Considering I've played for 2 years and have yet to experience "all" of the content in the game, that might be a BIT harsh. For someone who's been here 5-6 years and has picked over each and every last mission in the game at least twice, you might have a point.

On the plus side though, we DO have new content coming out all the time. Granted, it's NOT a doubling or trebling of existing content to give jaded players thousands of new missions to play. But there's been a plethora of content in the last few issues.

    Quote:
Unlike most people though I don't see fanboys as sub-human so take that for whatever it matters.
However, you DO use the term as an epithet. So there's at least SOME pretensions of superiority there.

    Quote:
I do not need to quantify the drop in content as my reason for leaving because it is personal to ME. To ME it seems like there has been a drop in content and so I am taking MY business elsewhere. If you disagree with me that is your right but it is overstepping things to say I am wrong to unsubsribe when I feel I am not getting my monies worth out of a game. Unless you feel like paying for my account then by all means you can tell me what is a valid reason to stop playing or not.
Nobody's saying you're wrong for unsubbing if you feel a certain way. They're saying your perception is mistaken. BIG difference.

Take a break. Give it a couple issues. We'll be here when you get back, keeping the servers warm.

Or is it that your personal bandwidth will be in short supply due to all the celebrations on NYE?
