Quote:Well the Nick Fury IS the Ultimates version at least...God I hope they don't base Avengers Hulk on Ultimate Hulk. Ultimate Hulk is evil and disgusting, a cannibal would-be rapist. He represents everything I hate about Mark Millar's work.
Heck, the last Hulk flick was a half-step between 616 (Gamma overexposure on a person with the gamma mutant gene) and 1610 (super soldier development).
Anyhoo, I'm not asking for Hulk to go all LOEG-Mr. Hyde, **** and eat a few people, etc. Just observing one hell of an entrance. -
Quote:and Mark Ruffalo is really just there to wait until he Hulks Out.
Maybe Joss Whedon can give him some moments, I am hoping so.
One of the best Banner-to-Hulk moments (and lines) was straight out of the Ultimates line. The one where Banner shows up in Washington during the invasion and drops the line about "Getting in touch with my inner psychopath." before getting stomped on and coming up grey and bulging with muscles.
Considering the last scene of The Incredible Hulk, I could easily see something similar in the Avengers movie. -

Quote:Okay, if Team A/B finishes their stuff and they see that the other team is about to finish up theirs, there's no real harm in going out and looking like a dork in front of Marauder (and dying).Still doesn't result in the need to kick them IF THEY DIDN'T FAIL THE TRIAL.
But if I'm coming back from the hospital when we're 4/6 and there's three people standing there with their richards in their hands, HELL YES they are getting booted! -
Yep.
Started just a hair above 35 and finished about 3 bars into 37.
Then hopped on a missions team and pulled 5 more bars. -
Quote:Okay, Con Crud. I've picked this up too.So I just found out that I'm going to the 2011 Comic Con. Brother suprised me with the tickets, so awesome, but I have a bit of a problem. I've been to a few cons before and the problem I have is that I get sick. One time I was confined to the hotel room and couldn't leave
. I guess being around so many people can do that to you. I really want to avoid this, and would really like to remain healthy through the whole thing. So aside from sealing myself in a plastic bubble and bringing in loads of sanitizer. Does anyone here have any advice on trying to remain healthy in a convention?
Here's a couple tips:
Going to assume you're flying in and booking a hotel room. If not, modify as makes sense.
1: BATHE EVERY FRICKING DAY! You have NO idea how important this is. Some people just try to "wing it" for 4-5 days at cons and it don't work. EVER. I recommend doing your bathing in the evening (don't go to bed dirty), and washing up in the morning. Bring Q-tips to groom your ears and use kleenex and blow your nose regularly too if you are prone to "build up" in your sinuses.
2: You're not going to be able to prevent things like ear infections if you have pressure sensitivity problems in your inner ear (from flying). You CAN work around it. If you're flying, bring chewing gum. The chewing action will help normalize pressure in the ear. Chew a little on takeover. Chew a little while you're up. Chew again during landing and through baggage handling.
3: Bring a big thing of hand sanitizer for your room and a smaller one you can carry around in your pocket. Try to limit your actual PHYSICAL contact with people if you can.
4: Increase your Vitamin C intake before and during the con. You don't have to go out and buy those 1000mg horse pills that give you like 700% of your daily allowance or anything. Buy some orange juice or citrus punch and have a cup or two a day. Maybe supplement your zinc intake too. Hell, just get yourself a good multivitamin.
5: Eat regularly at the cons. Cons are notorious for their erratic schedules and expensive junk food. And NO, a bag of Doritos and a 3 liter of of RC isn't a suitable meal.
If your room has a small fridge, hit a local supermarket and pick yourself up some cereal, a small bottle of milk, some fresh fruit, etc. You'll eat better
Eat before you leave for the morning.
Watch what you take in at lunch if you're going with con food. I really recommend NOT eating the con food. You never know how long it's been sitting. And while there are regulations governing the vendors, YOU don't know them and haven't got a hope in hell of knowing if the vendor is compliant before you come down with ptomaine.
Eat a REAL dinner. Don't simply McDinner it. Hit a REAL restaurant (unless you live in the area and are going back home at night) and order a real dinner. You'll get better balance of the food you eat.
Bring supplies with. You know Asprin/Tylenol/Advil/etc. Allergy meds if you take them.
6: Wear appropriate clothing. If you're not used to walking around ALL day, your feet are going to be pretty sore. Use insoles and/or arch supports. TRUST ME. I spend a good chunk of the day inside a booth at GenCon and Origins and in the evenings my legs feel like jello. PAIN FLAVORED jello.
7: Come early. If there are going to be lines (like registration lines, etc) that you need to be in, I recommend getting down there during the prep day if possible. This way if they're running a line, there are fewer people in it, all pushed in together.
8: If you're tired. STOP and "go home" for the evening. Running yourself to the ragged edge, while fun and all, exhausts you and when you're exhausted, you tend to present a lower barrier to infection.
9: Get a good night's sleep! I actually sleep better and longer at cons than I do at home. Partially because I'm working harder at cons than I do at home. A good night's rest is critical.
10: Get your linens recycled regularly. Some hotels will keep the same linens on the bed for 2-3 nights in a row without changing them (ecological issue, as washing all those sheets uses lots of water and introduces surfactants into the ecology when the waste water is dumped).
You don't need to have your linens changed EVERY night. But I'd recommend every OTHER night. Yes, you're bathing frequently and before bed. But still.
There's a little more, but I need to get out the door right now.
Also, view THIS. -
I've made especial effort to get my tank to 35 (so, hopefully we can ITF).

Note, the first tab on the page is the latest. The 11.6 (which may cause problems).
You may want to go to the 11.5 or earlier though.

Please see that I amended my last post.
Try a driver update. You may simply be dealing with breakage from various and sundry graphical updates that have finally ganged up on your 2 year old drivers. -
Quote:It's possible.
Did you get my email with my dxdiag though? I'd really like some help on this issue.
As a small update to it, it also seems that I'm getting some pretty bad graphics tearing even with everything turned down to the absolute lowest. I was just in the RWZ, and the Mothership looked like it was made of windows from nearby buildings. I'm thinking that by updating my drivers, I somehow screwed something up.
yeah. Got your e-mail.
How did you obtain the dxdiag? Did you go through dxdiag straight? Or did you use CoH Helper?
Because posting a raw dxdiag dump results in a failed post/preview.
But the one I just generated from CoH Helper went thru fine.
Also, digging through the slightly less organized (due to mail chopping columns short). Noticed your graphics driver is out of date (your drivers are 2 years old).
You're playing on a laptop on a Radeon 3100 with 256MB of dedicated RAM which is also stealing about 640MB of system RAM.
Driver Version: 8.634.1.0
Driver Date/Size: 7/29/2009 23:38:44, 3105280 bytes -
Quote:I wonder if, whenever they last fiddled with the boards, they screwed something up.Yeah, the boards give me some odd message saying that there's too many odd characters in my post or some nonsense.
E-mailing you the dxdiag now.
I tried posting a message the other night with a few hyperlinks in them and the board absolutely REFUSED to post until I removed the hyperlinks wholesale.
***Addendum***
Yeah. For some reason I can't post a dxdiag either. -
Quote:The boards aren't?I recently reinstalled the game again after the last free weekend and I've been getting some pretty crazy lag. I've tried turning everything all the way down, lowering the resolution, and turning the sound off but nothing seems to matter. I am also getting a message now on the login screen saying that my drivers aren't up to date, even though I have fully updated them twice.
It's not letting me post my dxdiag for some reason, so what could I offer up to help get this issue solved?
That's quite strange.
See if you can e-mail them to hyperstrike@cox-supergroups.com.
Also, try doing a repair (consistency check) and then defrag your hard drive (or if you're using a slightly smarter defragger, just defrag all the files in your CoH directory).
NOTE: If you're using an SSD for your CoH drive, do NOT defrag. There's no point. -
Actually, Shield is quite CHEAP to softcap.
Just on SO's alone, you get nearly 40% (39.7) positional defense with Weave and Combat Jumping.
Add a Steadfast Res/Def and you're at 43%. If you can't softcap from there with a couple cheap sets, you're doing it wrong. -

Quote:It's England. They're ALL pasty over there. I mean, it's not that they get NO sun. I'm sure they see a good three to five seconds at regular bi-millennial intervals. One thing kind of stood out to me, is Daniel Radcliffe really that pale or was there some reason for it in the story?

But seriously, I dare you to pull HALF of what he pulled in both parts of the movie and not be white down to your pupils for however long you have left to live before your heart explodes from the stress with the force of a large-ish multi-megaton nuclear explosion.

Either that, or beaten so black-and-blue someone mistakes you for a gigantic cross-breed grape. -
Well, at least they're not giving us Base McLovin.
I'd have to carpet bomb California and Korea with several exatons of yield of extremely dirty nuclear munitions. -
Quote:PSU is exactly what I was suggesting.ok for the power supply I found this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...G-_-17-151-094
and the video card I found this

What do you guys think? A-OK?
The link from the AMD site shows Newegg as the cheapest. -
Quote:GAH, forgot to copy before hitting send and the forum ate it.OK i opened my computer to check the motherboard hopefully this is right.
CT:P AAHD 4B U9 VD DXV
PN:5189-0462 REV:A01
power supply 100-127v- 6A
200-240v- 3A
output max 250v
The power supply has a switch on the back to go between the two.
Okay, found your system. Compaq Presario SR5310F.
According to my research, the default power supply is a dinky 250W unit.
Translation: You would NEED to buy a new power supply.
Here's my suggestion, IF the stuff is available in your area (not sure where you're located at in the world).
Antec High Current Gamer 520W.
For once, Newegg doesn't have decent documentation of the various power connectors. Luckily Antec's manual does.
Here's the important ones:
- 20+4 Pin connector (Your main power connector to the board)
- 4+4 pin ATX-12V connector Provides additional power to the 12V rail on newer ATX boards. Connectors are 4, 6, and 8 pin variants. You can handle them all.
- Dual 6+2 pin PCI-E connectors. Some PCI-E video cards require 1-2 PCI-E connectors. Some will be 6-pin, some will be 8-pin. This PSU will do either or.
My suggestion would be the Radeon 6770.
With a bit of stretching you MIGHT be able to get a 6850 (mail-in rebates, money left over from), but you're running into problems with your CPU being able to keep the graphics card properly busy and your performance plateaus out and isn't really any better than a 6770.
You could probably wangle a GTX 460. But the performance difference isn't really worth the price increase.
Sorry, tried to provide links, but the forum is choking like a 6-pack a day smoker living downwind from a forest fire. -

Now now. We need a kiddie-safe version!

Now where the hell's the next Robot Rampage?
We need to get Badge some vaca time, Ish some subscriptions and do this in classic Protector style!
Who's with me? -

Your designator for the motherboard isn't specific enough for us to figure out what the board is. You may need to crack the case and take a look at the actual model number silk-screened on the board itself.
This way we can verify what sort of memory you're using and the type of motherboard connectors available to you for a video card.
However. With $80 now, and another $170 coming, I'd say do BOTH. That's a comfortable enough budget number to do so.
Also, as noted, get a look at the power rating of your power supply. This way we can suggest something that's within your system's power envelope.
Even if we have to get you a power supply to accommodate a new video card, I'm confident we can do it within budget.
Just about ANYTHING is going to be better than your current, onboard, Intel video solution.
