No, Conserve Power doesn't accept Performance Shifter. It only takes standard/Hami enhancers for EndRed and Recharge.

  3. Part of the reason some people are amassing such huge numbers of VMs now is because of Judgement. Ion Judgement may not kill these Rikti, but it does tag you (and thus your team) for credit when each one dies.

Pre-i20, I think the most I'd ever seen for a "spectacular" raid was about ~600 VMs. So seeing a doubling of VM income isn't unexpected.

In fact, during RTR on Protector, we have so much downtime between spawn-ins that our tanks and brutes are running out to the "wings" and herding enemies back to the bowl for us to play with.
  4. My two primary problems in the zone:

    1: It's murder on squishies.

2: The walls of text combined with ambush-o-rama is ****ING ANNOYING AS HELL! Running through it for the first time, I want to actually READ some of the dialog in these arcs. The problem is, the ambushes begin the minute you either:

    1. Click on the contact
    2. Or midway through the reading
Now this doesn't happen on ALL of them. But there are two or three instances where I'm caught with a contact window covering the middle of my screen and I have enemies raining down on my. I could try to drag the window out of the way (which still leaves a portion of my screen covered) or I'm forced to just click through as fast as possible to get it out of the way.

In short, these encounters need to be restructured.

No. I meant "you". In the generic and non-specific sense. Not YOU as in "You, Nihilii"

Granted, some of this depends on the team and the speed at which they're burning through, but in some cases you still aren't going to be able to carry enough inspies AND pick up enough during the course of a fight to remain consistently useful from entry to exit.

Call it what you will. It doesn't change the fact that some people, with more advanced notice (and/or with the event NOT scheduled so close to the holiday season) might have been able to make plans to go.

It also doesn't change the fact that there are ZERO events that are easily accessible to people NOT living on the east or west coast.
  7. Honestly, Ninja Run and Beast Run are perfectly acceptable alternatives to Tier 2 travel pool powers.

They aren't QUITE as good (but hey, what do you want for a "free" power at level 4), but for most things they're perfectly fine.

My fire/rad trollers do without travel powers using Ninja run and Sprint. They need an occasional Raptor Pack for things like ship raids and the like but that's it.

Most of my NEW characters do without travel powers as well.
  8. Also, with the level difference, they get a fairly large +ToHit bonus on you. So being a point or two over Soft Cap isn't going to cut it for you.

You don't have the HP that tanks do to absorb alphas. Consequently, you don't regenerate as much when you're damaged.

And while almost 50% resistance is respectable, anything that gets through to you on a +4x8 is going to wreck you. And because of the level difference, a LOT of stuff is getting through to you.

Downloaded the recording, converted it to WMV, cropped it to like 4 seconds, threw it in a Video->Gif animator, put the resulting gif in GIMP, took out some excess frames. Here ya go. It's not really well-looped, but hope you like it anyway.

    LET THE HUMILIATIONS BEGIN!

I scoured AMD/ATI for a compatible driver, and came across a page telling me that AMD cannot provide support through AMD.com, and that I would have to go through the manufacturer's website.

I then tried going through Dell... But your CoH Helper log didn't give me enough information to figure out what model system you have.
MP061 is the internal code for an Inspiron 9400.

And yeah, the drivers are unbelievably ancient from Dell (5 years old).

Basically your graphics accelerator is one of the ones ATI sold "customized" to Dell (and different variants of it went to other manufacturers). There was a default set of drivers for it and not much after that. By "customized" it usually means it was jiggered around till it worked with a flat panel that it shouldn't have supported and everything in the driver set is held together with metaphorical spit and bailing wire.

Sorry, but our buddies at ATI/AMD screwed you over to Dell for this. And Dell's big enough that they don't care that you're screwed.

The difference between this and other unsupported cards is the fact that, up to a certain point, the other cards WERE supported by the manufacturer. In this instance they NEVER provided ANY support.

Your only real option is to get a new system.

Some of the Trekkies I've met...well...let's just say I've met them and I'd like to keep it at that.

Now yeah, if this turns into the 1960's Batman of Trek, we have a problem. But all of the series were better for the bits of humor injected in (intentionally or otherwise).

  14. The video tutorial bug has hit me.

Following a conversation with Dellian, I thought I'd take a stab at something a bit more esoteric in Mids. My problem is that I know jack squat about DB editing in Mids.

Anyone wanna help me out on this?
  15. The three things AMD has done for the industry:

    1: Multi-core x86
    2: x86-64
3: Provided a barely-there alternative so Intel doesn't get broken up as a monopoly.

If you live anyplace other than the San Jose area, it isn't a single day off. It's three, including transit times. One of which is a regular weekday.

I thought the notice before the previous HeroCons was short. This is just ridiculous.

My job requires a minimum of six month's notice before I can take a period of time (i.e. two or more days), off. I'm sure I'm not alone in that.
Honestly, as much as it pains me to say it, they should have just announced a simple M&G event in their area and saved the whole "summit" for next year so people could have taken time to plan for it.

PAX is primarily a gamer con.

Additionally, PAX's West Coast show is right in their metaphorical back yard.

Wow. It must be neat to be able to add two to two and come up with thirty-seven and a half...

Farming, repetition of content for reward, is a part of the game.

Yes, these are not your primary markets (comic book fans). But they're still your secondary market (gamers).

Bleating about how expensive it is to attend these cons is a no-go either.

It's at LEAST as expensive to go to NYC and other coastal cons.

And if you're REALLY concerned with keeping costs down (drayage, temp storage, etc), I can put you in touch with people who've been doing packtrain duty for these two cons for years.

They have been branching out the past couple of years and attending other events around the country and having M&G's while they are there. IIRC, they've been to PA and NYC for cons and had M&G's there.
Yes yes. We've heard this before.

They hit 3-4 coastal cons a year. Two of which are in their back yard.

The other 98% of the country and the rest of the world doesn't exist for them.
  24. As with others, the ridiculously short notice, the timing, and the location (mainly the expense of getting there) all conspire to prevent me from attending.

    Note to Paragon:

If you want to hold events in-game on a couple weeks notice or just pop them out ad hoc, that's your choice.

But trying to put on REAL WORLD events with a month's notice is basically telling people you don't REALLY want them attending.

This isn't you and the rest of the Paragon staff deciding to go out for a brewski after work, and this sort of off-the-cuff scheduling is ridiculous.

Let's be honest. This isn't a "Players Summit". This is a Bay Area Meet and Greet.
  25. It's probably NOT a good idea to put voice chat into the game.

The game is basically rated T for Teen.

However, when I'm having a bad night, the stuff that comes out of my mouth is anything but. YES, I'm a bit uncontrolled in my use of the language. YES, I try to limit myself. But YES, I still happen to use this form of verbal "punctuation". It's probably best not to have people wondering if I'm in the Navy.
