    old stuff

heh that first series was pretty good, very much like the Bugs bunny bit

    Origins 001

very slick, the writing definitely keeps one interested, and a bit curious to know the rest.
  4. heh originality aside, you still determined your character before ya played it, or for the most part had them determined. I tend to make up the info as I go on the fly while futzing through the character creation screens. I'm still making it up as I go, and still altering minor details to make the back stories fit. Like Herracane, my bubbler. As her concept of an alternate dimensions Heri, I made her history where her powers didn't appear naturally as Heri's did, so she turned to finding technology through her internships at D.A.T.A. and boom she has powers, just through technology. Sounds fine right? One minor detail, initially I was playing her as if she was in her own domension, but then I kinda subconsciously moved her to this Earth, clumping her with the other Heris. Minor problem... I never made a way of HOW she got here. I've cobbled up a Portal-related way of her getting her, which might be a glaring plot device to get her here, but I had to find some way. She's in that pic with the 10 Heris/Wherls zipping around and fightin lol

I think I found the LifePath system online here:

    http://www.mecha.com/~conkle/fuzion/FuzionChar.htm

I've gotten most of my chars childhoods, personalities/outlooks on life determined. That I tend to sense while playing the character. The other details I tend to pick as I play the chars and find details that seem to mesh with the character and at the same time makes sense.

I'm not one for PnP determined chars so I don't like using dice to determine anything, although the various events listed for the possible dice rolls give ideas.
  5. heh, yeah sorry for the vague reference, mostly Deep Space Nine fans would get the Honey Bare reference, and even then ones that watched the whole series, or really followed Julian Bashir's character.

What can it infer indeed. Like Electronite suggested, I think the Rikti interrupted something, and CH is none too pleased 'bout it. lol

I always intended Comrade Hero to be a late comer to the hero game. His powers didn't activate until he was in his thirties. He was a regular Joe before that. A test pilot, cosmonaut, and aeronautical engineer.

Comrade Hero doesn't age now - so he's stuck in his mid to late 30's. Initially he felt a little out of place interacting with more experienced heroes who were half his age and had been heroes (and villains) since their teens. Again a deliberate decision for RP reasons

Interesting, that's pretty cool. I'm one that never really fleshed out my chars before I created them. Knowing me if I waited till that, most of my characters would exist as just name placeholders at the moment. I kinda came into the game with a plausible back story, and tried to develop one for each character as I found a new AT, power set combo to build. Only ones I intentionally really planned were the Heris, and even now I've found problems with consistency of my characters' stories intertwining. Who knew commissioning art would be a boon to tightening the stories. lol
I've only pre developed one character before starting to play her and now she's sitting on a shelf due to the other two not wanting to play our trio much. Just my luck.

Yer character and info sheets are pretty cool CH, thanx for the inspiration. Man I'd never survive some of the more RP developed chars and universes. there's prolly a million details about most of my char that could be asked and I'd be like.. I ahve no idea, I hadn't thought about that. heh
  7. pretty cool styled chibi, 3d-ish, pretty slick
  8. that's pretty cool style, looks very cel shaded like. kudos man.

    noticed a few things.

    1. the beautiful Nobel Prize Scientist - her look screams Honey Bare or Christmas Jones.

    2. Her hand position, just sayin... lol
  9. that 2nd piece is amazing in that it totally has that more serene, softer, tender feel to the artwork compared to his first one. That's totally cool that he was able to capture the two different sides of her in the two pieces, very very cool.

    Two things...

    1. I always love the see that wide variance in age artists give him (for me, I always pictured him as 40).

    2. That secdon shot has an ... interesting... feel to it.
    Need prunes?

lmao *cleans sprayed soda off of keyboard and monitor*

Good point on the age thing Juggs, I thought it was just me at times when he looked a younger/older than I thought him to be.

Always cool to see a fight against someone a big name.

When it's rollin' all is beautiful and good with the world, when it isn't it's like shoving through sludge. Oy.

this. it's like this and a blend of trying to get your car started, until then yer jsut stuck and ain't going anyway where til ya zoom off.

Krispy's, Tims, Dunkins and Winchell's are all the same in my book. But then again I have sentimental memories that go along with eatin somethin from each, especially munchkins.

I don't understand why they revisited the Clone Wars. Blerg.

    [/ QUOTE ]

*shrugs* Pepsiman enjoyed Clone Wars, so who knows, that's gets a hmm might be interesting enough to go see in my book. I'll prolly wait and Netflix it, I'm a bit curious to at least decide about it for myself.

see which tasty actress or actor would fulfill the boots of my heroes and villains if they were to be in my own movie

    [/ QUOTE ]

this... is both fun and agonizing at the same time. I did this after getting the idea after seeing your char sheets a long time ago Comrade, and finally decided to do it for sure when Bobby mentioned it helps artists picture ones character more. It's fun when you find the people that fit your characters, but to not see them immediately looking liek them is blah.,. but that's life I guess, be happy with what ya got I suppose heh

    CSS Baby!!!

sent ya somethin to try for the code Bobby, hope it works.

    My toon

*looks for the invisible jump rope* heh just kiddin

That looks pretty good, very toon-y, but still has the costume details and some nice power effects, cool pose, and most of all its better than anything I could draw any day so ya got me beat lol.
  17. jeebus those colors really light up that piece moreso than the inks did. the huge gargoyle face catches my attention then the figure with the eerie glowing purple eyes catches it more, giving mroe of a oh crap... feeling well done

    CSS Baby!!!

looks awesome Bobby! back is black! errr waitasec...
  20. no problem with that here. I figured it was possible you'd go in a silly direction so I just figured to just wait and see what you came up with. It'll be a unique piece of art at the very least

I get this from time to time while writing my stories and bios and all for my characters. I'll have a general idea of what I want to write, like an outline of ideas, but sometimes the detailed explanations that sound correct I won't be able to think of. Other times the ideas will flow freely.
I know that my own self-pressure to just get them done to help out current commissions doesn't help. That just makes me feel more rushed and more prone to come up with something and it ends up feel more forced and not quite how I want to be if I didn't feel so much on a deadline.
The only solution that works consistently is to work on something I know I've got something that I can get some writing on, and then then go back to whatever was blocking me later, in the hope that some ideas will have come to me by then. It happens sometimes that way. Work on one thing and whether you're struggling with that or not, sometimes an idea with light bulb for something completely different. Other times, just brainstorming and trying to take the idea and play with it works, sort of half forcing yourself to get creative. When this fails the only route to go is to take break and focus your thoughts somewhere else, as sometimes that usual solution while doing something else thing will pop into play.
This works for me in writing anyway, hopefully this could work in similar ways for drawings? heh

The dev dungeon is a hidden room that's off the tunnels that are below Grandville, there's a map of the tunnel way system on the Printout map of Grandville at vidiotmaps.com Along the tunnels there will occasionally be place the usual Arachnos type technology, mostly near corners the entrance to the dev dungeon is hidden by one of these clumps so you kinda have to walk into and behind them to get to the entrance, similar to the entrance to the break room where the Easter Egg exploration badge in Faultline is hidden.
  23. Heh, I'll admit I got caught in that a little bit, now I go for just the variants that I like the art on.
And yes while Image did use those tactics before, for the most part most of the original founders are trying to put out books and series people will like, some of them hit and some of them don't. I've found a few that I'm not sure I normally wouldn't have picked up if I didn't subscribe to Image and the various companies they've helped grow, Top Cow, Aspen MLT, etc.
