1. Another greta deal for $549.00 and it has an ATI 5570 GFX card which is to me a lot better.

Check it out here ----> http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...Sku=I455-56400
2. Well for cheaps, this should be a GREAT BUY!!!

Check it out here: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...5&Sku=SYX-1086

It has a AMD Quad 4 processor which is GREAT.
It also have 4GB of DDR3 Memory RAM.
A GeForce 1GB GT 520 gfx card which is AWESOME (Prefer ATI imo tho)
For $549.00 its pretty decent.
3. Yes you can level pact a hero with a Praetorian then meet up in Pocket D. I have 3 accounts and what I do is for my SG members, level pact a member's praetorian with my alt "Level Pact Guy 1" hero. Then meet up in Pocket D to join the level-pact and from there, the Level Pact Hero is then PL'ed to 20 in 5 runs (If private) of lvl 54/x8 AE Cyborgs.

At lvl 20, brake the pact and do the 1 mish, POOF ... it's done.

Well if you are under any influences while watching somepne's farm, to you it will seem as if they are ... AWWESSOOOOOMMME, but on the real note? Come on nooowwww dduuuuude/duuuuudett, it is no way it can be as good as an SS/Fire Armor Brute.

[/QOUTE]Give the best mechanics tools to someone that knows nothing about cars and ask them to fix your engine problems and you will get nowhere. That sounds like the ss/fire person.
Okay then get the guy that farms with an ice/rad troller to PL yah then. LOL
Give common tools to a great mechanic and they can tear appart your car and put it back together and have it running better than before. That sounds alot like the others.
Thats NOT right.

I do appreciate ideas of diveristy in doing certain things the same as others do with common tools. But someone trying other toons to run farms with will NEVER be as good, fast and delivered by like an SS/Fire Brute.

Get rid of DR

Get rid of Travel Suppresion: and keep it for melee toons .. so if a melee toon hits you.. you get suppressed and the melee toon is suppressed.

Get rid of Heal decay

I liked the mez changes because getting perma held was supper annoying.. but now getting mezzed is ok.. and a dom/troller is still a powerful toon on the field..

I also like the changes to tough applying to all dmg

raising dmg was also nice.. also raising the dmg for slower attacks is great idea.. because in pvp slowing down or stopping is a death sentence..

If they took the first things out, kept the others, and we have our incarnates, then pvp would be alot better..

BUT THIS IS MY OPINION OF COURSE.
THIS! But lets look at the melee toon TS (Travel Supression). It may be better that the melee type can TS it's target with melee attacks but not with Range attacks unless when ranged atacks apply the melee'ers are suppressed too but NOT when they hit with melee atleast TS'ed by 50% reduced from what it is now.

And yes PLEASE drop DR, it really SUX for those who have tweaked their favorite toon/s that went axtra lengths to ebstablish accolades, super rare enhancers and other abilities and effects. This is where and how a true Hero/Villain shines in the mist of war.

7. Hello Blake7, welcome to the world of CoX PVP.

I would strongly suggest you roll another /regen scrapper (if it must be a regen). I suggest Fire Melee, Electric Melee, Dark Melee or at least a Katana before trying to roll a Broad Sword because it is difficultly SLOW to get what you will for satisfactory in PVP, especially if its zones. Broad Sword deals Lethal Damagewhich is easily resisted. Elecric Armor can be as good too or better, but not as great as a really, really good regen.

Fire damage has great damage and it is not resisted as easily like BS/.
Electric Melee can be great for landing high damage to targets too. It may even hit harder than Fire Melee.

Dark Melee hits fairly well and has -ToHits to target/s (causes them to miss during the duration time) it hits and has a Healing power.
Katana hits much faster than BS but it deals Lethal Damage too. There are players that know their scrappers well and know how to tweak them to their benefit for they have been learning thru establishing more experience as they progress. Learning the curve in every aspect to what fits their personal playstyle by enhancing what is necessary, picking powers needed to do what fits their playstyle and to better survive accordingly as well. This may include the type or personal favorite Incarnate Abilities as well.

Now most importantly ... after reviewing your build on Mids. You have over slotted powers way pas the necessary. Hasten only needs 2 slots. If you 3 slot Hasten you will see when you mouse over the power that its buffed in Red meaning it is overkill. For instance, 2 slot Hasten and you will see the enhanced type "Recharge" is vauled at 83.32% in Green. This is the propper way of enhancing the powers abilities to its true form. Try to understand the mistakes you have made on your build. That will help you better understand how Mids can be used to greater detail to better your toon or AT. So rework your build and post it again thats if you still want to roll a Broad Sword to PVP.
8. Also, I do NOT know if it is enough S/L Defense although it is not soft-capped. If Defense is a must have for PVP zones (RV), it may have to be soft-capped beyond the normal PVE limites for when DR comes into affect. But then again, I was told that defense is a joke for pvp. Was told that resistance is the key idea.
9. I am working on a multi-role Brute mainly for RV. Haven't actually tried it yet (presently lvl 36) but I will like to have a few builds stored for when it is ready to Rock-N-Roll in RV.

Please critique, valuate it's worth, share your ideas, oppinions and so forth.

Indeed I know it will have to be rebuild, respec'ed again and again before I am pleased with it finally or maybe this build is the jackpot to satisfactory.

Thank you in advance.

10. I am curious toknow what is the better epic pool for Brutes in RV since thats the only pvp zone that enables the level limit to use the powers?

I was thinking between Artic and Earth Mastery. Artic Mastery I was thinking it will really help with slowing down villains or Earth Mastery for Quicksand (noticed on Mids it does not require an ACC check) but the accuracy can be enhanced by IO Slow sets.

My idea is to be a menace in the zone and team support so thats why these two Epics are considered. Is it worthy to have either?

Any suggestions, ideas or advice is appreciated.

Thank you in advance
11. My 2 cents on the matter here. I believe the changes, major changes that were made when I-13 hit was to compromise the new Incarnate System and it's contributing abilities. I think somewhat of th new changes can be reversed back to pre- issue 13 to a certain degree or respectful percentage. Also the travel supression should be granted to melee based AT's since they lack range abilities. Swing on an AT and it's travel-supressed. the DR could be reduced as well allowing those who have worked hard to tweaked and maximized their specific toon to shine where credit is due versus "My new-pvp-dog-collar-&-leash-enforced-by-the-developers" so I don't be too almighty.

I'm just saying.

Hello Mr. CoHPlayer, playah. I will tell you this. It is a very nice combination of a Controller type for an Archetype. It is the type of Controller you will find yourself later on within a logged-on-session that you have been playing much by yourself and have not bother to think to seek teams/teask-forces/strike-forces (if on the Villain side). It is that much fun to play, it gives you more than just control, it gives you CONTROOLLLLL to play the game the way that you desire to in a Controller's way. (if you PVP with it in a PVP zone, you will seek a team then/if you plan to farm, NOPE). Anyway, I have heard of a few solo'ing many difficult/impossible task's with this Controller type and succeeded. Its that great. Also, building it to your style will take time and effort unless you do know how exactly how you want to roll. Task-Forces? In most cases, you may not have to seek them, LOL you will be getting blinf invites and/or "tells" to join them. I have one and Local Man (A speciallist - IMO) will tell you the same as well that they are great to play, you should seek his name on the post and check out his signature. He has great information that will better help you understand the powers and much more.

However, benefits form bonuses from IO's enhancemnts and the new Incarnate System, you can and will benefit greatly even much more from it even greater than most have imagined. Trust me. This toon may cause all other toons you have to collect DUST for a while on the back-burner.
13. Yeah Ultrawatt is completely accurate. Especially if its a farming Brute like you've said it will be your money maker for your alts.

If its a farming Brute, you must ask yourself, "why must a farmer have so many travel powers?"

I've seen quite a few farming toons that do NOT have any travel powers to make it that effective to their playstyle. Some may just have Super Speed.
With that in mind, you can grab a few powers to add that will benefit you well for farming.

I do advise that you roam & seek other threads on this topic, view their ideas and builds to get a better understanding of what it is you're missing out on.
14. Well, I currently have the Leadership pool. It is a nice and easier way to soft cap the defenses with Veng, however, that requires another to be Veng Bait LOL. I am still new to the CoH game mechanics + math + effects when it comes to this. I do not know if it is noticeable for a Fire Armor Tanker/Brute (Resistant Based) if it is soct capped on smash/lethal defenses that it will be much survivable or not.

The build from up above that you've helped me with Ultrawatt haven't been tested yet (Still saving up for the complete build). so because only the smash/lethal is capped, how much difference is it versus having Veng active which capps everything on Defense just about?

Shield tanker/brute tends to be defense based at AoE, Melee and Ranged damage-type. This is also confusing. I do not know which is beter, Smash/Lethal def-capped or AoE, Melee & Ranged defenses.

The main idea for a soft-capped in smash/lethal defenses were to do just more than farming and that is why Spiritual was routed in plans versus Cardiac. To uphold good defense with great recharge will be great for almost any PVE content (imo) and farming. But! Veng offers so much for very little that gives you great room to improve elsewhere but requires a corpse (to do so ingame). It will probably be best to go your route now that I have given it some thought, Ultrawatt. Make 2 builds, one for farms and other for TF's and such LOL.

Here's a build that Ultrwatt really helped me with. It has both soft-cap defense and its perma hasten. Mind you it is a very costly build.

16. For what its worth, I do thank you for posting your vid on ur fire-mob killen. However, it is quite evident an ss/fire brute, fire armor/ss tanker can rock these types but as i was watching, it was very evident that your build needs peaking, I would have cleared that room in 1/3 the time it took you. So yeah, I feeeel good to know my ss/fire Brute ROCKS!!!!
17. Wow, Meililan and Ultrawatt, you both have really put forth amazing builds when Fire Armor has no defensive powers and too, Hasten is perma under 120 seconds. I really do NOT know how to thank you both but to say, WOW. It took many days & nights to achieved what you both have done. I want to thank everyone for the generous comments as well. I hope it is really worth the efforts to have such a toon soft capped in defense. LOL Cannot wait to try it out too. But the auto accolades will be I am hoping will really improve on the endurance issues.

Speechless I am at this moment. After viewing Ultrawatts Build he has tweaked, I will roll with that one because it has the Pyre mastery which also he has mentioned that its good both in/out of farming. So I will stick with that there.

For the FoTG -resist proc, I see no room for that though unless I drop a slot elsewhere and thats where I must calculate what is worthy to keep and what not.
18. I haven't reid other avenues such as using Nerve for the extra 20% glonal defenses but since I've made dozens of builds trying this way, I will experiemnt much more with those there.

Somehow, the mechanics of the game seems te recognize the faults of a build, it drops lots blues but I am not having much Endu issues, I may pop a few here and there but I plan to get those auto-accolades htis weekend to help out with that.

I will also try to tampering with Mu to see if has other enhancement slotting available that may give a better chance to build for soft cap defense while keeping high global recharges as well.

Also I would not bother with the proc in Blazing aura. It only has a chance to proc every 10 seconds in toggles.
I thought it would tick better there because it hits every 2 seconds but it is presently slotted in Burn which is not a toggle but I've used Burn to 6 slot Obliterations for added def bonus. If it is better suited in Burn, I will leave it there and find other avenues to take to get atra defenses.

Thanks
20. I have been working extremely hard on this build. Ideas to run farms at master levels and do well with other PVE content as well. I could just build an alternate build but I would be really impressed with a one-build kinda toon that does it all (except for PVP with it).

Question!!! Besides awesome global recharge and damage, what are the best defenses for this to ba a valid build? I do NOT want to keep relying on Veng because I may/do attend running with folks that don't die alot so Veng is a waste for that catergory. is it better to build for soft capping smash/lethal defense? How valid is it at 40.5% smash/lethal defense compared to the 45% soft-cap defense? I've read the threads on "Soft Capping" smash/lethal defenses but still just not sure.

I really, really enjoy playing this toon and that is why assistance is strongly needed hear.

This is my build here that I haven't build into yet for the Brute.

Please ... critique.

21. PFF is an embarassing bubble that leaves you when you go down face first. Effective for PVP? Nope, and that is a costly $200 million respec when you realise that it SUX!!!

Elec/Rad just has great synergy with Choking Cloud + Conductive Aura + Static Field + Jolting Chain. I tried an Elec/Kin and just like Elec/Rad better.

There isn't much synergy between the sets, but Elec/Therm might work well for a team-focused character. But if you want damage from your secondary, Elec/TA is really the best choice.

Local man, how you doing bud? I have a question to ask. After reading your very comprehensive feedback on the synergies between elec/rad, that alone encouraged to make one ... so did just that and it is level 47. Now the question. Is this a toon that needs defense, soft-capped defense? Or is it much like the ill/rad (that has very strong aggro holders from PA) and don't require much defense? What would you do to make this a very efficient build particularly for solo and then somewhat team support? And if NO defense is not necessary would you go the IW route of Psionic Mastery?

I think this would be an extremely humuliating AT which I aim it to be.

This is what I came up with which is also my very first atempt to build this AT type on mids. What do you thiink on this also?

Elec/Kin Builds?

Well here is a build I crafted quickly on Mids. It has perma-hasten and too, smash/lethal defense that is soft-cap.

Hope this helps!

24. Well if I were in your shoes, Jakarr, it would be wise to build 2 seperate builds. one for farms and the other soft-capped because trying to get both on one build is almost impossible (imo) but build the farming build with Vengeance toggled on Mids and then build useful attacks around it with enough bonus buffs from sets that will soft-cap it as well as you are basically building for recharge. More recharge the better the results within a farm which = to faster kills and faster kills = exit and repeat much quickly.

There is one build I've seen posted on "Archetypes & Powers/Brutes" that came very near of the best of both worlds, farming and pve content. Here is that web-adress to that build here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=250429

I hope this helps. And for my farming build, here is that web-address too: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=254925

Hope this help as well.

25. Do you have Mids hero Designer,(updated)Issue I-19 version? Because i cannot view form the link you have posted. (Disregard that, I see it now, my Norton 360 had a "View the page" displayed at the very bottom of screen).

Afer viewing your build, it lacks lots of Defense when you have gone the Fighting Power Pool route instead of the Leadership Power Pool for Vengeance which granto you more defense alone compared with the Fighting pool. Also, I see that you have skipped Rise of the Pheonix, which to me is kind of a must have, (especially with out Veng and not soft-capped).

Also, you have waaayyyyy over slotted powers that most do not use in a farming session. Those slots can be most valuable esle where. If you want more recharge, you can grab Leadership and Concealment. You don't necessary have to over slot the concealment pool but single slots for the LoTG 7.5 recharge IOs and you can 3 slot Veng for the added 7.5 LoTG and added Def as well. Blazing Aura I have mine 4 slotted, 3 damage/endurance IO's and a proc chance for damage.
And KB Blow is a power you will need good damage into it like if you can afford a Hect set, it works well for that. Drop the Absolute Amazement set in the Boxing attack power and put it in Rise of the Pheonix power.
