  1. Haha.

Y'know, I tried to see this when you first posted it, but Photobucket would only load half of it so I didn't get to the punch-line. I still liked the style back then, and I'm glad I finally got to see all of it.

The story reminds me of my own blaster's team searching attempts lately. =P

I liked it, good work. You got a great character there and I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd love to see more of his adventures.

Chapter 1 - Hit the Floor by @The Architect

    October 5th, 1:24 AM

In the dark of the Night, a lone figure wanders the streets of Talos Island in search of answers.

Noticing an illuminated sign in the window of a shop, he stops to stare. The Future Dynamics store in Talos Island stocks all kinds of Energy foods and drinks, everything the budding hero should ever need to keep himself stocked up. The lights are still on and heroes come and go despite it being the middle of the night.

Steadily, the figure makes his way over...

    Future Dynamics - Talos Island

“No Mi, I can't come see you, I'm working all night.” a young man is talking on the phone behind the counter, he pauses as he listens intently to his girlfriends voice. “It's probably more scared of you... just get it with a glass and some paper.” The ring of a bell signals a customer out front. “Hey, I'll phone you back, stay strong...!” he smiles at the reply from the other side. “Haha, okay, I love you.”

The clerk hangs up the phone turns around and picks up a green apron, wincing lightly for a second. “It's hot in here...” he makes his way to the front of the shop, ducks down behind the counter and taps the thermostat which reads fifteen degrees. “Hmm...” Jimmy the shop Clerk rises to his feet quickly.

“WOA!” half jumping from his skin he holds his hand to his mouth and attempts to calm his nerves.

“H-hi, can I h-help you?” he asks the figure standing before him.

The strange man raises his hand to chest height, his pale eyes fixed on the Clerk, he gestures to continue by rolling his fingers in a circle and nodding slowly.

“Um... Are you okay?” the figure just continues his gesture. “You're... okay that's good. Can I sell you anything?” Again, the figure says nothing, his eyes fixed on Jimmys face. “I guess that... that means yes then... Um. So you must be a hero! Right, well, as you can see we sell...” Jimmy pauses in his speech. “Are you sure... you're okay?”

The figure nods, intently. “Sorry, you just look... a little... crispy. Heh heh! Um, right, we sell, a range of muscle supplements, weapons, ammunition... um, aswell as a range of drinks and foods--”

The figure raises his hand with a flash, pointing two fingers at Jimmy's throat. “Yes.” speaks the man finally, Jimmy points to the food cabinet quivering slightly. The strange man turns to make his way to the back of the shop, emitting a gentle smoky haze and the smell of burnt flesh as he goes.

Jimmy took a deep breath, and followed after the man who was now staring intently at a selection of PowerBar's and Heroade in various flavours in a glass chiller cabinet. The man raises his hand as the glass seems to melt away.

Jimmy's eyes tightened as he took a serious tone. “Sir. You're gonna have to pay for damaging that.”

The strange man turns his head robotically towards Jimmy while still rummaging through the chiller cabinet. “I need this Energy.” he speaks in a hushed tone. He turns back to the cabinet, grabs the shelf and lifts the entire machine a foot from the ground.

“Sir... I need you to put that down.” spoke Jimmy with an increasing tone of Authority.

The strange man made for the door with the massive Cabinet in one hand.

“Right...” said Jimmy, as he clenched his hands into fists. A blinding white aura filled the room, as the humble shop-clerk unleashed his secret power.

The strange man stopped in his tracks, turning back to Jimmy, who's eyes were now glowing intensely, his soul bound Kheldian filling his body with super-human powers. “...put it down.” he commanded in an ethereal multi-tonal alien voice.

The strange man gently rested the cabinet on the floor, turning to face Jimmy full on... as he did, the glass that had melted, seemed to regrow, mending the cabinet perfectly. “Do you wish to do Battle?” questioned the peculiar man inquisitively, arching his neck to one side as he spoke, sizing Jimmy up.

Jimmy took no chances, unleashing a huge blast of snow white Kheldian energy at the super-shoplifter. Hitting him square in the chest, the figure was catapulted through the front door, taking it clean off it's hinges, before landing 10 feet away in the road, skidding across the tarmac to hit the kerb.

The Peacebringer sprinted outside, leaping over the road in one bound to land at the strange man's feet, in the pouring rain. A truck's headlights filled the road with blinding light as it's tires squealed to stop.

The Assailant quickly kicked Jimmy's feet from beneath him, leapt upright and slammed into the truck with his open palms, bearing it's full weight on his slender heat scorched arms the Truck lifted up from the road in a full 90 degrees vertical circle. Now holding the truck above Jimmy the Assailant span and placed the truck gently on the other side of the road.

As he did, his gaze fixed back on Jimmy. Bending down, he grabbed Jimmy by the scruff of the neck and lifted him from the floor. Jimmy, furiously punched and kicked at the Assailant with little more effect than annoyance and then with a single throw, the man threw Jimmy back into his shop some 20 feet away with perfect accuracy. Jimmy just slid along the shop floor, bumping his head lightly against the Shop counter, while the Assailant darted across the street into the shop after him.

“I will be requiring a weapon.” spoke the strange man, throwing out his hand in the direction of the weapons cabinet, while standing some distance away from an angry looking Peacebringer.

A Katana in the cabinet began to shake and rattle in it's holster before crashing through the glass to land neatly in his hand. “Thanks for your assistance, good night.” he nodded towards Jimmy polietly as he turned on the spot and bolted for the door.

On the street outside he looked left, then right and ran down the street in that direction. Jimmy decided he was too tired and shaken to chase after him, pulling himself up to his feet, and powering down.

“Who the hell was that guy?” he asked himself and his Kheldian friend as he dusted himself down.

[u]The Mystery of the Thunder Fiend[u]

Fears over a new Axis Super-Weapon were silenced this morning when it was revealed in the early hours that the cause of recent electrical storms was a Meta-Human. Witnesses on the Talos Island boardwalk described a man on the shorefront emitting what was described as a 'Lightning Aura', arcing high into the evening's sky.

When one of the Cities Homefront Heroes arrived on the scene to investigate, the mysterious figure apparently dissapeared in a flash of light, instantly putting an end to the massive thunderstorms across the City. Some of the cities Military Analysts raises minor fears that the continual, localised stormfront was the work of Hitlers Axis Scientist, the dissapearance of the storms and their source lays this theory to rest for now. Nevertheless our ever vigilant Home Guard say they're still on alert, and now know what their dealing with should the 'Thunder Fiend' return.

"Well, folks it looks like we've got a rough night in store across the City."

The Weatherman points to the screen behind him which transposes to a picture of the East Coast, black clouds are unnaturally focused around Paragon City.

"Technology Heroes with a weakness to the electromagnetic effects of thunderstorms will want to hang up their capes tonight, it's really going to be something of a 'shocker' out there folks.

The Weatherman takes a serious tone as he looks back to his map.

"It looks like mother nature's saved it all up for us--"

The image flicks off before the Weatherman can finish his sentence. The boom of a thunderbolt too close for comfort startles a concerned citizen in his pitch black room in an apartment in Talos Island. Stumbling over debris on his bedroom floor in the sudden pitch darkness, he makes his way to his ocean view window to get a better look at the ominous storm clouds over head.

Talos Island is silenced under a blanket Blackout... only the corporate buildings, mono-rail and street-lights remain lit with power, as a second huge bolt of dazzling white-light hits the beach the man in the window ducks down for safety.

    5th of October - 00:00am

By this time the beach of Talos Island was, in places, Red Hot from constant strikes of thunder, the sand crystalising into shards of brilliant natural glass after a heavy barrage.

In the centre of the beach a lonely figure crouches beneath the storm. Around him an aura of heat-haze ascends into the bitterly cold and windy night. As he gradually rises to his feet, the storm seems to settle and calm... Silhouetted from the mainland against the turbulant seas, the figure glances to his left and then to his right.

In synchronisation with the on set of rain, the figure glances towards the Talos Island's impressive skyline, his body sizzles as the rain hits super-heated flesh and metal, but only the islands glorious skyscrapers standing proud against the muddy blue sky can hold the man's attention.

His eyes bear a subtle naivity, a child-like wonder fills them as his eyelids flicker to keep out the rain. A gentle warming smile forms on his lips.

Lowering his gaze, he looks towards the edge of the beach as he makes his way inland to the sound of crunching glass beneath his feet...

  6. Author's Notes

My character Psyborg Zero has always inspired me to write. I often get lost in a dream world like a complete dork, envisioning those battles that can't be rendered in the game.

Originally my character on Superdudes.net , Psyborg Zero evolved from a 2D card into a fully fledged, living, breathing Super-Hero back in 2005 when I first logged into City of Heroes (Defiant), fresh, and ready to play the latest and most original MMO I'd seen.

Since then, Psyborg Zero has evolved from a hybrid of the Psycho Mantis and Cyborg Ninja Boss Characters from Metal Gear Solid: Tactical Espionage Action, into an original creation who has his own History, Universe, Religion and Purpose. I'm hoping to one day turn this concept into a Super-Hero/Sci-Fi Novel, but for now he lives in City of Heroes.

Since transferring him from Defiant to Union this Friday, I made the decision to start creating a new storyline for him, in this thread are all the peices I'm writing to introduce him and his unique view on the world we live in.

Please PM me any comments, as I'd like to keep this thread purposeful.

Sweet mother of pearl! I can't say why, but that picture actually freaked me out a little. 'What if' a Cat-Girl got pregnant? Well I'd be pretty scared.

Maybe it's the huge belly. Maybe it's the idea of 12 new Cat-People coming into the world. I just don't know.

The artists good though, get him down here.
  8. I haven't read all the posts, so I don't know if this has been suggested yet.

But the easiset way to get rid of these people is to just ask for the star to invite a friend of yours with "A Hard to Spell Name - who is a really good tank/defender with heals"

Then, when you get the star. KICK THEM FROM THE TEAM.
    Ahahahahahaahaaaaaa!!

You *may* in turn lose all of your team-mates, but if you use this on the right person, you may find moral support from the team, making you all stronger... and either way if feels marvellous to get your own back. Just don't use it on everyone who disagrees with you like some perfectionist Nazi empath because then you become that which you sought to destroy.

    Just remember kids!

"A Team is Only as Strong as its Weakest Link"
  9. Yeah, like the forum title says.

I've seen some spanking hot videos made via demo editing, it seems like it'd be something I'd love to get into.

Anyone know how you do it?
  10. Take me down to the Paragon City where the Grass is Green and the Girls are pretty!
Oh won't you please take me hooooooome!

Give the Blaster better ++'s to damage earlier. It's simple really... atleast test it on Training Room to see how it works. If anything the humble blaster needs a good inherant power to balance out their squishiness, and at the moment, all their power does is to make them more squishy if you want to try to use it.
  14. Introducing "Hugh Mann"...

The following is written in the soil beneath the Haven Novae. It is lettered in such a way that although it appears alien the letters seem to form into comprehensible patterns in your native tongue...

[u]Personal Log of The One 'Zrym'[u]

    Crash!

The ship suffered severe damage... I noticed a life-form trying to salvage the ship, such a poetically noble and logical action! I followed my instincts and saved myself, going in search of food, shelter and assistance. I was certain the life-form was fit for the job, my mission was for myself however.

Upon arrival at the nearest settlement I readily formed into a perfect clone of one of the dominant and respectful looking life-forms, continuing to then devour it for sustinence. At this point I was readily energized and ready to continue my reconnaisance mission!

At a time I discovered a transmission box containing many images of the planet and it's dominant species "Humanity". From initial surviellance of their culture through this marvellous device I learnt that they are a youthful race concentrating on joyous laughter as entertainment. This is a surprising contrast when compared to their true nature... a warlike violent race that I would soon discover. But more of that later!

I must divulge the wonder of their sugary foods! Truly does this species know how to consume... I felt it unnecessary I should have consumed the earlier human, for their food is so powerful with energy that I soon became engorged and quite delirious I must say!

As a Human Male, it became apparent that I was rather attractive to members of the opposite gender. This particular set of Females were displaying themselves in a mating ritual, apparently adorning their bodies with garments that may be arousing to a usual male. Many times was I propositioned to fertilize one of these interesting beings, however I politely refused each time.

What happened next shocked me somewhat, when one of the females called on an extravagantly dressed Male and his clan members who rode a vehicle which bounced on springed wheels and emitted loud musical sounds. The Female pointed out that I had turned her down, which then prompted the Males to... well to use one of their terms "Get all up in my face." Many words that I believe to be obscenities were exchanged towards me and I was forced to flee.

Upon losing my pursuers who showed no interest in following me, I decided to take more caution towards these primitive beings... I found a suitable collection of Humans and continued to Psionically probe their minds for any information I could find...

Finally with this information I concluded that Paragon City would be a good place to begin further investigations, eventually I travelled there on the transportation system that the group of humans were waiting for. I believe it was called a "Late Coach". Many Humans paid homage to it on its arrival by using the names of their Gods to bless it's splendid lateness. "Oh God, I'm gonna be so late now!" and indeed they were!

Upon my arrival in Paragon City I managed to Psionically track my fellow Haven Novaen's who had apparently made their way there during my time investigating the planets inhabitants. Now I have returned here to record this at the base of the Haven Novae via the ships transportation systems which are functional.

Zrym is a Shapeshifting Alien. He is essentially living Psionic Ectoplasm, allowing his species to decieve their opponents through many means... Shifting their physical matter, and confusing their opponents to blend in to any environment. This makes for a truly potent survival technique around predators. Zrym has taken the name "Hugh Mann" as his adopted Human name. He relishes in Human culture, acting much like a delinquent at a buffet table of life. So far he has seen no real reasons to help humanity other than for his own gains and to preserve his own existence and gain useful social status amongst the other Haven Novae survivors.

[u]Hugh Mann's First Evening with the Haven Novae Survivors[u]

Tonight, Hugh started the evening by tracking down the other Haven Novae survivors and then following them to observe their actions, all the time in the form of a rather oddly suspicious looking Human who at the same time seems to be quite unmiraculous.

When the team reclocated to Kings Row from Galaxy City, Hugh was surprised to turn the corner on some Skulls, who promptly attempted to Mug him. Hugh was confused, but was quickly assisted by Teremity who spotted him and moved to save him from the Skulls. Mr. Galaxy and Ussiskino helped put the Skulls down for good.

At this point Hugh made a decision to act like a human, doing a particuly interesting job of that. Praising the Aliens powers and resourcefulness with a poor grasp of the Human language, often making up words and laughing for no apparent reason. When he spoke of Humans in a way that sounded like they were a Collective, the Aliens became suspicious, recognising that Humans infact saw themselves as strictly individual.

Hugh dissapeared into an Alleyway and hid in Cardboard box before eventually tracking them all down again. Outside of a sewer pipe, the team formed up before entering... at this point Hugh scooted behind a dumpster to observe them. Mr. Galaxy and Teremity spotted Hugh, and at this point he nervously released a small blast cloud, a last resort defense mechanism of his species, before running off around a corner to wait until they all entered the sewer.

Hugh finally managed to follow the Aliens inside, where he aided their fight from a distance, using his Psionic abilities to confuse and disorient members of the lost engaged in combat with the main alien group.

Hugh found himself in a difficult situation however, as he pounced upon by a rather large Lost-Leader, who chased him into the sewer. There, Hugh morphed into his base form... a gloop of sticky goo that hid in the Sewer water perfectly.

As the Haven Novae survivors walked past Hugh, he reformed himself, rising from the putrid sewer waters and eventually morphing back into his human form. There he explained his true nature, and for the rest of the evening assisted the group with their task set them by the city officials.
  15. What's the deal with times and meeting places for this team? Also, what level is everyone in now? I can spend some time getting my character up if I know.
  16. I'm interested in the idea of having confrontations between characters who may never have met, but I'm not sure I quite understand exactly how this is going to work smoothly.

I'd be happy to offer some of my characters items for fun though.

THE HORROR. MUST SHIELD MY MIIIIIEEEND.
  18. Okay count me in, I've just rethunk my character...

Now going from a Feminine Overlord of her planet, I've decided to opt for a much easier option.

I am now playing the Aquatic Scientist named Yalr'Zrmo Nyk. He's rather smart and he knows it... he's also not just an engineering marvel when it comes to technology. Oh no... infact he's even moreso of a sort of "Bio-Mechanic" in that he see's living organisms as simply more intricate and fascinating machines. He's also sworn to attempt to keep all of them running smoothly.

The reason for his late entry? His capsule was fitted with heaps of upgrades and modifications to ensure his survival. However some of these prevented his awakening in a bizarre twist.

Nyk comes from a 90% water planet covered in thin whispy strips of land covered in salty white sand as usually found in the desert. Also, his planet was covered in huge storms at all times which kept the temperature habitable, yet made it more appealing for life to live beneath the waves in really quite an amphibious existence. His people, in relative tranquility perfected many technologies, and their culture seemed to revolve primarily around Mating and Living a good life after many, many, many centuries of vicious in-fighting that all but decimated their populations and gave birth to the majority of their advanced weapon technology.

He uses his space suit to survive on Planet Earth, which is equipped with a personal Force Field Generator and Synaptic Amplifier which acts as a Psionic Weapon/Tool for Telekinesis and Mind Control and the such.

Whew! That was fun to write, and I love playing him.

So what time do we do this?
  19. Level 26 Elec/Elec Brute if you want me.

I like to think I'm a cautious and wary tactical player, so we'll try not to die too much.

I'd suggest we find a Dominator and a Corruptor next, or two Corruptors.

Send me a forum PM if you're interested.
  20. Wow. I really wanna have a go at something like this myself. Any tips for a complete Noob?
  21. Mighty fine attempts Sir. I wouldn't know what advice to give though, as I too, much like yourself, have picked up the pencil for the first time in a long, long while. I wasn't very good but I got all these ideas buzzing around and I'd love to be able to draw proper like, so I've picked it up.

Just now, earlier this evening, I checked out the Art Requests thread and saw my Militia chum Mr. Crimson Archer had requested he be drawn, yet hadn't received anything (as far as the thread shows anyway) so I drew this relatively quickly:

I'm too scared to show it to him incase he see's it as an abomination, so I'll post it here, hiding it away like an unwanted child, birthed from a moment of primal scribbling pleasure.

I think I just need more practise.

I also scribbled a quick picture of Hatesman in his new look.

I'm actually pleased with these. But yeah, Critcism and Advice welcomed.

Keep up the good work FFM, and anyone else who's reading this, and falls into the category of Artistically Challenged. I wanna see your stuff.
  22. Fiiiiiight!!!

That aside, you really gotta love Elite Beats, kudos simply for its inclusion.
  23. I'm wondering quite how many of these requests have become actual works of art? All I see are multiple pictures of Catz.

I'm kinda starting to draw as a hobby, if I can get down basic anatomy, I may attempt some of these ones that have never been taken up on.
