The Adventures of Psyborg Zero
Prologue - Weather Patterns by @The Architect

[u]The Mystery of the Thunder Fiend[u]
Fears over a new Axis Super-Weapon were silenced this morning when it was revealed in the early hours that the cause of recent electrical storms was a Meta-Human. Witnesses on the Talos Island boardwalk described a man on the shorefront emitting what was described as a 'Lightning Aura', arcing high into the evening's sky.
When one of the Cities Homefront Heroes arrived on the scene to investigate, the mysterious figure apparently dissapeared in a flash of light, instantly putting an end to the massive thunderstorms across the City. Some of the cities Military Analysts raises minor fears that the continual, localised stormfront was the work of Hitlers Axis Scientist, the dissapearance of the storms and their source lays this theory to rest for now. Nevertheless our ever vigilant Home Guard say they're still on alert, and now know what their dealing with should the 'Thunder Fiend' return.
4th of October, 2007 - Paragon City Channel 6 News, 11:56pm
"Well, folks it looks like we've got a rough night in store across the City."
The Weatherman points to the screen behind him which transposes to a picture of the East Coast, black clouds are unnaturally focused around Paragon City.
"Technology Heroes with a weakness to the electromagnetic effects of thunderstorms will want to hang up their capes tonight, it's really going to be something of a 'shocker' out there folks.
The Weatherman takes a serious tone as he looks back to his map.
"It looks like mother nature's saved it all up for us--"
The image flicks off before the Weatherman can finish his sentence. The boom of a thunderbolt too close for comfort startles a concerned citizen in his pitch black room in an apartment in Talos Island. Stumbling over debris on his bedroom floor in the sudden pitch darkness, he makes his way to his ocean view window to get a better look at the ominous storm clouds over head.
Talos Island is silenced under a blanket Blackout... only the corporate buildings, mono-rail and street-lights remain lit with power, as a second huge bolt of dazzling white-light hits the beach the man in the window ducks down for safety.
5th of October - 00:00am
By this time the beach of Talos Island was, in places, Red Hot from constant strikes of thunder, the sand crystalising into shards of brilliant natural glass after a heavy barrage.
In the centre of the beach a lonely figure crouches beneath the storm. Around him an aura of heat-haze ascends into the bitterly cold and windy night. As he gradually rises to his feet, the storm seems to settle and calm... Silhouetted from the mainland against the turbulant seas, the figure glances to his left and then to his right.
In synchronisation with the on set of rain, the figure glances towards the Talos Island's impressive skyline, his body sizzles as the rain hits super-heated flesh and metal, but only the islands glorious skyscrapers standing proud against the muddy blue sky can hold the man's attention.
His eyes bear a subtle naivity, a child-like wonder fills them as his eyelids flicker to keep out the rain. A gentle warming smile forms on his lips.
Lowering his gaze, he looks towards the edge of the beach as he makes his way inland to the sound of crunching glass beneath his feet...

Chapter 1 - Hit the Floor by @The Architect
October 5th, 1:24 AM
In the dark of the Night, a lone figure wanders the streets of Talos Island in search of answers.
Noticing an illuminated sign in the window of a shop, he stops to stare. The Future Dynamics store in Talos Island stocks all kinds of Energy foods and drinks, everything the budding hero should ever need to keep himself stocked up. The lights are still on and heroes come and go despite it being the middle of the night.
Steadily, the figure makes his way over...
Future Dynamics - Talos Island
No Mi, I can't come see you, I'm working all night. a young man is talking on the phone behind the counter, he pauses as he listens intently to his girlfriends voice. It's probably more scared of you... just get it with a glass and some paper. The ring of a bell signals a customer out front. Hey, I'll phone you back, stay strong...! he smiles at the reply from the other side. Haha, okay, I love you.
The clerk hangs up the phone turns around and picks up a green apron, wincing lightly for a second. It's hot in here... he makes his way to the front of the shop, ducks down behind the counter and taps the thermostat which reads fifteen degrees. Hmm... Jimmy the shop Clerk rises to his feet quickly.
WOA! half jumping from his skin he holds his hand to his mouth and attempts to calm his nerves.
H-hi, can I h-help you? he asks the figure standing before him.
The strange man raises his hand to chest height, his pale eyes fixed on the Clerk, he gestures to continue by rolling his fingers in a circle and nodding slowly.
Um... Are you okay? the figure just continues his gesture. You're... okay that's good. Can I sell you anything? Again, the figure says nothing, his eyes fixed on Jimmys face. I guess that... that means yes then... Um. So you must be a hero! Right, well, as you can see we sell... Jimmy pauses in his speech. Are you sure... you're okay?
The figure nods, intently. Sorry, you just look... a little... crispy. Heh heh! Um, right, we sell, a range of muscle supplements, weapons, ammunition... um, aswell as a range of drinks and foods--
The figure raises his hand with a flash, pointing two fingers at Jimmy's throat. Yes. speaks the man finally, Jimmy points to the food cabinet quivering slightly. The strange man turns to make his way to the back of the shop, emitting a gentle smoky haze and the smell of burnt flesh as he goes.
Jimmy took a deep breath, and followed after the man who was now staring intently at a selection of PowerBar's and Heroade in various flavours in a glass chiller cabinet. The man raises his hand as the glass seems to melt away.
Jimmy's eyes tightened as he took a serious tone. Sir. You're gonna have to pay for damaging that.
The strange man turns his head robotically towards Jimmy while still rummaging through the chiller cabinet. I need this Energy. he speaks in a hushed tone. He turns back to the cabinet, grabs the shelf and lifts the entire machine a foot from the ground.
Sir... I need you to put that down. spoke Jimmy with an increasing tone of Authority.
The strange man made for the door with the massive Cabinet in one hand.
Right... said Jimmy, as he clenched his hands into fists. A blinding white aura filled the room, as the humble shop-clerk unleashed his secret power.
The strange man stopped in his tracks, turning back to Jimmy, who's eyes were now glowing intensely, his soul bound Kheldian filling his body with super-human powers. ...put it down. he commanded in an ethereal multi-tonal alien voice.
The strange man gently rested the cabinet on the floor, turning to face Jimmy full on... as he did, the glass that had melted, seemed to regrow, mending the cabinet perfectly. Do you wish to do Battle? questioned the peculiar man inquisitively, arching his neck to one side as he spoke, sizing Jimmy up.
Jimmy took no chances, unleashing a huge blast of snow white Kheldian energy at the super-shoplifter. Hitting him square in the chest, the figure was catapulted through the front door, taking it clean off it's hinges, before landing 10 feet away in the road, skidding across the tarmac to hit the kerb.
The Peacebringer sprinted outside, leaping over the road in one bound to land at the strange man's feet, in the pouring rain. A truck's headlights filled the road with blinding light as it's tires squealed to stop.
The Assailant quickly kicked Jimmy's feet from beneath him, leapt upright and slammed into the truck with his open palms, bearing it's full weight on his slender heat scorched arms the Truck lifted up from the road in a full 90 degrees vertical circle. Now holding the truck above Jimmy the Assailant span and placed the truck gently on the other side of the road.
As he did, his gaze fixed back on Jimmy. Bending down, he grabbed Jimmy by the scruff of the neck and lifted him from the floor. Jimmy, furiously punched and kicked at the Assailant with little more effect than annoyance and then with a single throw, the man threw Jimmy back into his shop some 20 feet away with perfect accuracy. Jimmy just slid along the shop floor, bumping his head lightly against the Shop counter, while the Assailant darted across the street into the shop after him.
I will be requiring a weapon. spoke the strange man, throwing out his hand in the direction of the weapons cabinet, while standing some distance away from an angry looking Peacebringer.
A Katana in the cabinet began to shake and rattle in it's holster before crashing through the glass to land neatly in his hand. Thanks for your assistance, good night. he nodded towards Jimmy polietly as he turned on the spot and bolted for the door.
On the street outside he looked left, then right and ran down the street in that direction. Jimmy decided he was too tired and shaken to chase after him, pulling himself up to his feet, and powering down.
Who the hell was that guy? he asked himself and his Kheldian friend as he dusted himself down.

Chapter 2: The Name of the Law by @The Architect
October 6th, 7:36am - Future Dynamics
Yeah, he was really fast and strong. I'm worried that if a guy like that's running around he could hurt someone, maybe another rookie like myself... Heh heh. Jimmy's words held a reserved apologetic tone. After he'd failed to stop the super shop-lifter himself he'd called the police, but since the strange man hadn't stolen much and had actually saved Jimmy, they took a full day to chase it up.
So, I've got a freeze frame on the CCTV outback for you. Come through... two PPD detectives followed Jimmy through to the back room where an image of the man that night flickered with static on a small screen, next to one that replayed the entire fight from multiple angles on a loop.
Officer Haslow pushed through, leant over and took a closer look. It's a definite Meta case. See how his eyes are bleached white?" he said pointing at the screen with one hand and putting a tooth-pick in his mouth with the other. "Yeeeah... classic trait.
So, when I told you he lifted a truck, that's not a clue? interrupted Jimmy.
Haslow let out a sigh and turned to Jimmy. Leave it to the professionals from now on kid. Kapish? We got this. Jimmy looked down at his feet and stood back in silence.
Okay Mike, take this down for the APB? Haslow asked his partner, who promptly took a pencil and notebook from his pocket. Okay Chief.
Okay... Haslow sat down at the desk in front of the CCTV monitors, scanning them all with a careful eye.
...21 Albino Male, 6ft, white eyes, pale skin, shirtless, white hair and metal pants.
Metal pants chief? asked Detective Bennet, mildly confused.
Y'know... high-tech lookin' armour. I dunno, here. he motioned to Bennet to have a closer look.
...Robot Features. said bennet as he scribbled down the last details and headed outside.
Don't worry kid..." said Haslow with an air of confidence and a glint in his eye, "...we'll catch this guy."
Sunday October 7th, 10:24pm Talos Island, Arena District
Freeze! In the Name of the Law dirtbag! boomed a gruff voice through a Police Helicopters loud speaker, after a figure followed by the Choppers searchlight, darting behind a wooden fence into an alleyway.
The sound of the deafening rotor-blades filled the air as the man pressed his back up against the fence, and scanned the area in front of him before sprinting onwards.
Don't let him get away! came the voice again to officers on the ground. SWAT Commander Jennings turned the loud-speaker off as he picked up the Police-Band Radio on the cockpit HUD. This is SWAT Commander Jennings, requesting special assistance!
Roger that Commander, Heroes have been notified of the situation and Crisis Suits have been dispatched, you have permission to hold off aerial pursuit, we have target on Satellite Imaging.
With the sound of the Helicopter disappearing into the distance, on the ground, the man the police were pursuing, slowed his footsteps, so that he was now gently stalking through the alleyway on Talos Island. He stopped to turn towards where his pursuers once were, and gazed up into the nights sky at the bright half-moon, his face displaying a rare moment of emotional wonder. He was now carrying the stolen Katana across his back, on top of an equally stolen leather bikers jacket.
No body has to get hurt, but I do relish when they do. the Thief span in his tracks to locate the voice. There, he watched the shadows converge into a humanoid figure, rising out of the pavement.
Do you wish to do Battle?? inquired the thief to the shadow, reaching for his Katana.
Yesss... Yes I do! the Dark Figure lunged forwards with a fist that seeped with negative energy, cutting into the very fabric of space.
SSSHING! The Katana was loose from it's holster, parrying the hit. The Swordsman launched himself backwards to escape.
Whheeere aaare yoou going? with that, the Dark Fighter collapsed back into a black cloud, letting loose a dozen dark tendrils at the Swordsman, grasping his legs and arms, holding him dead in his tracks.
The Swordsman swung furiously, cutting off parts of the Dark Fighter, which simply dropped to the floor and wriggled like worms back to the main mass of darkness.
Give me that Blade!! a long wispy tendril shot up vertically from the mass, arched over and whipped at the Swordsman's Katana, stopping the Swordsman's attacks dead, as he now struggled to hold onto his weapon. The Tendril effortlessly yanked the Sword clean out of the Swordsman's grip and across the alleyway, where it dug into the brick wall with a sizeable 'shunk!'. Then like a serpents head, the same Tendril fixed it's attention on the Swordsman's squirming body, this time it shot forwards and wrapped itself around the Swordsman's mouth in an attempt to to choke him.
Jussst go to sssleep and thisss will all be over.
The Swordsman's hollow eyes stared into the darkness that was 'Jarral', where his gaze was immediately met by a horrific screaming face, that appeared from the darkness, enough to terrorize a normal man.
The Swordsman went limp, as he slowly suffocated into submission.
Gooooood., the Vigilante said as he lowered the Swordsman's body onto the pavement.
Then with a giant spark of light, the Swordsman's body disappeared, leaving the Dark Entity reeling backwards, splashing over into the pavement, reforming after a second into a surprisingly young man hooded in a black robe mage's robe, adorned with glowing runes and symbols.
Now where did he go!? questioned the young hero, turning in circles to survey the alley.
I got him! came a female voice high above the alleyway.
Up on the roof, a woman dressed in a green and yellow performed a rolling landing onto the roof a few meters away from the Swordsman, she hastily took out a small cylinder, tapped it against the floor and extended it into a formidable looking Metal Dueling Rod.
The Swordsman took up a lowered defensive stance.
I don't want to hurt you, just give yourself up.
The familiar thick thudding of Helicopter rotors, rose in volume, as the Chopper closed the distance, dropping down so that it was at Rooftop level, shining a blinding spotlight on the two heroes. The Swordsman hastily surveyed the area, as he once again watch the Dark hero from the alleyway, now reform on the rooftop from what seemed to be a thick black fog.
We have you surrounded, do not try to escape. came the voice of Commander Jennings from the Helicopter again.
Nice find Amy... But I'm afraid he's mine!! snapped the Dark Hero at his team-mate before dissolving into his dark tendril form again and launching at the Swordsman.
The Swordsman's eyes narrowed, as he span on the spot and sprinted towards the Helicopter, followed closely by the cloud of nightmarish energy that was 'Jarral'.
Jarral wait! Amy shouted after him.
The Swordsman leapt a full 10 meters from the rooftop, onto the Helicopters landing bar with a clang of metal against metal. Without thinking for a second, he lunged at Commander Jennings, grabbing his collar and ripping him from his seat. Jenning's harness snapped like it was made of paper as he lurched forwards.
Jarral had no time to react, as he was hit by a flailing SWAT Commander, he exploded into a fine black mist in mid air, that was promptly blown away into the wind, by the Helicopters powerful rotors.
Jennings landed awkwardly on the gravelled roof, rolling half a dozen times before coming to a stop at Amy Waters feet. The Heroine dropped to her knees for a second to see if he was all right, he reeled in pain for a second, showing her what she needed to know.
In the Cockpit, the pilot tried frantically to beat the his Hijacker away, but it was no use, he was just too strong for a normal human and before he knew it, he was falling from the cockpit onto another roof, watching the Swordsman escape with his Helicopter over the sea north of Talos Island.
Amy detracted her Dueling staff, and hit a button on her wrist. "Flight mode Activated" said a pre-programmed female computer voice, Amy's rocket boots lit up a neon blue colour, as she sprinted for the escaping helicopter.
I'm going after him! announced Amy as she extended a pair of glider wings from her back pack and dived over the ledge, launching herself into the sky. Once in flight, her Rocket Boots lit up with blue flames, as she powered after the escaping Swordsman.
The Swordsman's cold eyes fixed on a small island off the coast as he felt a sudden pull on the controls accompanied by a sizable 'thunk!'
Amy had retracted her wings and clamped herself to the side of the Chopper with her magnetic gloves. Destabilizing the chopper for a moment with her weight. The Swordsman rolled to the side, and looked backwards to Amy on the side of the Chopper. Get off. he commanded, bluntly as he lifted himself from his seat.
Amy looked up to the rotor blades above her, and then down to the rough sea below. She wasn't ready for a fight here, but she'd have no choice. The crazed hijacker had to be stopped!
Amy pulled out her Tazer gun and aimed it forwards. The strange Swordsman, flipped the Autopilot switch and climbed out onto the Helicopters left landing rail. Get off. he repeated to her as he moved closer.
Why don't you come and get some!? she said, as she fired a pair of highly charged Tazer darts into his chest.
The Swordsman let out a whelp of pain, as he grabbed the Tazer cord, and wrapped it around one of his knuckles.
You need to get off! the man shouted through the wind as he motioned towards the falling flight path of the Chopper, that was now headed back down to earth.
Amy's face filled with a look of shock as she watched the man throw himself from the Landing Rail, tugging at Amy via the Tazer cord. The two of them fell for a few seconds in Unison, before Amy threw her Tazer away and activated her Glider, flying away as she watched the Hijacker and Helicopter crash into the sea a few hundred meters from each other.
Amy circled around and doubled back in a search pattern for the Hijacker, like a hornet at a picnic.
Beneath the waves, in the depths of the sea, all was hushed and silent. A stark and contrast to the noisy world, above where a Helicopter whined it's last strains of life.
Beneath the waves, the Swordsman seemed unconcerned with such human needs as oxygen or warmth, as he dove down as far as he could, propelled ever faster by his heavy metal legs.
As the Ocean floor approached, the figure span to land firmly on the ocean floor, kicking up a large cloud of sand around him. Drawn to a snails pace by the waters resistance, the Swordsman slowly stomped his way towards an undersea cave.
"This is not how it was meant to be." he thought to himself, as he climbed the rocks from the ocean floor up to the cave.
Psyborg Zero had not come to this place to be a 'Dirtbag Villain' as his pursuers had brandished him. His destiny was a noble one.
I will hasten my evolution.
Zero turned and lifted his hand towards the cave entrance, sucking the potential energy from his environment into his palm. A shield of crystal blue ice engulfed the cave entrance, growing from either side of the hole, encapsulating him in a prison of his own design.
Psyborg Zero lowered his hands to his side, then threw them both up like a tempest weaving a magnificent spell.
"Cryostasis Reconstruction!"
With that, large shoots of ice extended from every section of Zero's body like magnificent crystal tree roots, growing ever larger and thicker.
After a few minutes the cave was filled with nothing but Ice and a strange figure encased inside...
((The damn forum timed out on me, so I lost the original copy of this! So stupid I know, so this is 'Aggreived Attempt at Chapter 2, Number Two'. Sorry if it sucks more than the others. Hope you enjoyed it anyway! SO TIRED NOW... Zzzzzzzz. =P))

Author's Notes
My character Psyborg Zero has always inspired me to write. I often get lost in a dream world like a complete dork, envisioning those battles that can't be rendered in the game.
Originally my character on Superdudes.net , Psyborg Zero evolved from a 2D card into a fully fledged, living, breathing Super-Hero back in 2005 when I first logged into City of Heroes (Defiant), fresh, and ready to play the latest and most original MMO I'd seen.
Since then, Psyborg Zero has evolved from a hybrid of the Psycho Mantis and Cyborg Ninja Boss Characters from Metal Gear Solid: Tactical Espionage Action, into an original creation who has his own History, Universe, Religion and Purpose. I'm hoping to one day turn this concept into a Super-Hero/Sci-Fi Novel, but for now he lives in City of Heroes.
Since transferring him from Defiant to Union this Friday, I made the decision to start creating a new storyline for him, in this thread are all the peices I'm writing to introduce him and his unique view on the world we live in.
Please PM me any comments, as I'd like to keep this thread purposeful.
