    And such people tend to gravitate to games where they can exploit others and show their 'superiority'. Adding PvP zones to CoX opened the gates, so now they are coming to here as well. Well, most everything is a two-sided sword. I don't mind that much. If only they could even speak english.

    I just wish they would stop designing the game in a fashion that effectively encourages this. (ie. widening the gap between good PvPers and beginners, and introducing horrible risks to losing which will just cause bitterness. (I refer to upcoming IoPs the way I perceive them))

    The main thing that bugs me is the lack of any real hard data concerning bases or base-raids. And the info we got doesnt make any sense to me.

    Simple quistion, Air Superiority, never used it, whats it like, does it miss alot, does it even work... Is it worth taking.

    It's for my Srapper with 0 range attcks and it seem the only option for him. Epic pool is taken with Body Mastery, so no hold powers from that.

    It has very high knockdown chance, does -fly, decently fast and does ok damage. Overall I have always rated it as the best melee attack out of the power pools. Whether a character needs it is another question. For instance war mace tanks will always need it in the early game because of the bad power ordering of war mace.

    It is a melee attack however.

    A weekly two-hour window needs to be selected by the SG when it has an IoP. You can be raided only during this window, but you won't know who is coming and the attackers wont know who they are attacking(I think). (some time ago it was two windows per week, I didnt notice when they changed it)

    There are no balancing features currently, except the max amount of attackers/defenders is limited. The attackers can come in with 16 people to an empty base.

    I could be wrong, since we know so precious little about the raid system, and the devs arent telling.

    Nobody can perma-terror anyone in PvP, its called suppression.. But I agree fearsome stare is impressive

    I hope terrify is equally good, I don't have it yet.
  7. After taking mass hypnosis with my low-lvl controller and nearly losing my mind in couple teams, I decided strongly against taking mass sleep ever again.

    My dominator is currently soloing fine without any need of mass sleep. I plan on taking invoke panic along with intimidate instead, when I get that far.

    Well, im not sure that an established SG have to fear this as much as its expected in this thread. not long ago we fought 'Order of Reckoning', and they tried for 60 min to take us down but failed. they did however destroy anything they could get their hands on in the process lol. we lost:
    workbenches (minor cost)
    reclaimators (evil to have us spawn at nearest hospital when we died, but no bigger loss 10k each)
    they could have destroyed our super comp but didnt. that wont be as easy next time =)

    They where not near destroying our generator, telepads or defenses. this becouse we had a good layout of the base, and a good plan on how to prevail. im sure that in a few months, it will be more or less impossible to get close to anything of value in any stronger base, since we get more experience in layouts and team-tactics.
    ofcourse smaller SGs wont stand much chance, and will get their base destroyed, but that is the real thing that seperates the small wannabees from the real powerfull SGs that are destined to rule CoX. im sure the devs did not intend ALL sgs to have the IoP. just the strongest that can actually defend/aquire them

    Point was not about who can acquire/defend them. The point here is the propability of having the base PERMANENTLY destroyed!

    So I read that meaning 100% propability you will need to build your base from scratch? the couple of million prestige it requires for the bare-bones raidable base?
    Does anyone else find this slightly out-of-order?

    Yes it bloody well is, note that the change applies to all defense as far as I know. Not just SR.

    You need CoV in order to access bases within CoH.

    To be exact, you need cov registered to your gaming account that has the characters you want to access the base with.

    Where did you get this number? Note, I want to know the BASE chance to recover a destroyed object. Anything less than 80% will propably make me forget the whole raid thing. Theres no way we'll be spending couple months recovering from one raid.

    If only States hadn't inserted his precious 'risk' into the equation we'd propably be raiding left and right already.
  14. The personal opinions of someone who has teamed with kinetics quite a bit.

    1.) endurance recovery boost is massive as you can read from the numbers posted above

    2.) recharge reduction in all powers is great.

    3.) Even though movement increase is sort of nice, the main benefit is that speed boost gives best protection to heavy slow effects of caltrops, quicksand et.al. ground based slow powers that some PvE enemies like to drop.

    (and I used to be indifferent about speed boost)

    I understand that larger SG's with high level alts can turn out a lot of influence, and they want to protect against mass-donating SG's getting too much prestige too fast... but... bah! :P

    Current situation still heavily favors large and active SGs, so I just don't see (m)any good points in this system.

    Psssst. The thing you quoted issued PVP, not PvE.

    My personal experiences about gauntlet with tanks is that it wears out in about 1,5 seconds, not 15 seconds! In my books it's the same as useless cause my main attacks have more EXECUTION time than that, not to say anything about recharge! I think Bridger once mentioned about gauntlet wearing out in 1-2 seconds and that it was WAI.

    Items can be put on tables, the basic white table is the one I use as a 'default'. Some counters don't accept stacked items, but plenty of them do. It is a sort of trial-and-error thing.

    And rotating your view helps placing the objects like I always say..

    I dont think i have managed to put anything on top of any crate so far though.
  20. This sounds pretty much like I expected it to be. Defenders risk everything and will lose their 'rewards' with high propability. Attackers risk nothing and reap the rewards. Yup, sounds pretty much like the way states wants things designed.

    Well, not really, difference between +2 and +3 isnt that great, and the enhancement levels arent goingto stay tip top anyway if character is leveling. Not worth the trouble for me.

    Personally i don't remember seeing anything that would count as any real "reward" in my books, so I'm not so excited about risk (debt is very tangible) either.
    But then again, I consider this a two-edged sword, if there were big enough rewards, then people would start essentially farm PvP zones in some fashion.

    I don't remember how bounty works though. Somebody explained it to me at some point, but since I dont remember it, I doubt it was anything worthwhile.
