Quote:I think BABs (the developer) was the one completely against this, I'd hope with him gone it could be revisited now.Ok, so it's time to revisit this.
For a long time, I have thought (and even had some people agree) that it would be nice to be able to use Dual Blades (renamed, perhaps) with less lethal weapons like tonfa or escrima sticks. The argument against it was always that DB does lethal damage and those other weapons should do smashing damage.
Given that Titan Weapons allows smashing damage with giant edged weapons, can we please reconsider allowing blunt weapons as alternates for DB? I mean, as people have been quick to point out on various other occasions, a blunt club to the head can be pretty darn lethal. -
Quote:Just to point out, I believe Nerva is actually a US Territory, in the CoH verse.
Secondly, Longbow HAS invaded the Isles. The occupants of the Isles and Arachnos are two different groups. Nerva is pretty much occupied by Longbow, especially with Agincourt set up in the middle as a Longbow Stronghold. Yes, Arachnos has ops in Faultline, but nothing like Longbow has in Nerva.
It may have been retconned AWAY from that at a later point, it was designed as such, which is why it has such a strong LB presence as well as being a place where Ms Liberty and BaBs could reasonably show up and not be immediately attacked.
The actual wording of the situation of Nerva can be found in the CoV "players guide" PDF which was available as a free download on the main site ages ago, if my memory serves correctly. Unfortunately, I can't locate the PDF again to confirm this. -
... wait, you guys are seriously rallying to have more content -removed-?
Seriously?
Im all for a zone revamp like what was done for Faultline. Heck, I think -every- CoH zone needs to be revisited and given clear story arcs like how redside works. But removing things is bad. -
Praetoria cannot be accessed via Ouroboros, I suspect due to the nature of Loyalist and Resistance acting as a 5th and 6th alignment, and there being damage done to a character data wise if they were to go back and shift to either of these two alignments.

Quote:I recall it being said that we will get an echo of the zone, during one of the community chats. The "Freedom Phalanx Reserve Member" badge has been around since the introduction of badges, though it requires level 21 to activate (due to a history plaque in Dark Astoria...which may change if we don't get an Echo).
Quote:While I'm sure they don't release names to every Tom, Dick and Mary there's a limit as to how far they can go, unless the laws and US Constitution are very different (and the necessary changes would not be good for civil rights). -

So ostensibly, yeah - at least as far as the current roster of seven goes, everyone knows who they are.

As far as the whole 'secret ID' thing goes, only a small number of my characters really worry about that (one, for example, because she's displaced in time by twenty years into her past and doesn't want to distort the timeline).

Now, I think that -by lore- every hero in Paragon is going to have willingly told their identity to the FBSA/Goverment, simply because of how much access they freely get to everything. But I also think it's debatable that you could request your identity not be "public". I don't see the FBSA gaining mass "Costumed" acceptance without that caveat. -
Yeah, thats what strikes me as odd, because currently the character on Freedom is locked, and the transfer button is greyed out. Ive got 2 transfer tokens saved from before I dropped to preem, so thats not the problem.
-
Currently, all of my character slots are in use on Virtue. I have a character on Freedom I'd like to transfer to virtue. However, currently all of my Freedom slots are locked, and the transfer option is greyed out for that character.
If I unlock the character on Freedom and then transfer it to virtue, does the unlocked slot stay on Freedom, forcing me to expend another slot on Virtue to play the transferred character? -
I know the vanguard bundle specifically states no emotes are included. It is not clear on the weapons.

Quote:If the stun aura didnt do self-damage, I probably wouldn't mind it. I just found that in the situations where the stun would have been useful, the self damage was adding another complication. The areas where the damage wouldn't be noticeable, the stun was unnecessary.I have a L50 EM/DA/Earth Brute. I find your comments strikingly divergent from my experience. Personally I rather like having an AoE damage aura to complement the ST focus of EM, and the mag 2 stun aura has some degree of synergy with the two EM powers with 100% chance of mag 3 stun and the two other EM powers with 60% chance of mag 3 stun. My Total Focus still stuns bosses; that's not too shabby.
On the other hand I certainly wouldn't say no to EM buffs. It's not that the set is objectively bad - nothing that can solo at x4 could reasonably be called that - but now that Mace doesn't suck, somebody has to be the worst. Just be aware that I, personally, would not consider trading away spike ST damage and mez for the apparently requisite AoE splash an improvement.
Mind you, thats purely just on casual observation while playing the set. -
-
I think the problem at this point is that any meaningful changes to EM would probably just be better off placed in a new set. The one last hope EM has is that it gets some tweaks when it's proliferated to scrappers. If that ever even happens.

Dont get me wrong, I love Street Justice and it's hands down my favorite melee set now. Its just the animation for spin strikes doesnt fit it being a targeted AOE in my opinion. Ill learn to use it, lol.
-
I honestly don't understand why this power is not a PBAOE, the animation screams for it. I guess just to be different, but eh. Im not sold that it being a targeted AOE is a good thing.

I have a Storm/Sonic defender that is awesome to play in teams, and can solo reliably. You deal out enough -resistance stuff just melts.

Quote:The logic behind the change was simple. Either Posi, BaBs, or Castle decided to try PVP. They promptly ate the double damage spike of AS and 1sec ET from a stalker.I have two level 50 EM toons, a tank and a stalker. Both were made back when EM was a good set. Since it was nerfed, I have not played them at all. They're simply very weak toons now. Like mac said, the set went from being horrible at AoE but great at ST....to horrible at AoE and bad at ST. I still have yet to understand the logic behind that change.
BaBs and Castle then decided the power had been bugged and assigned an incorrect animation, since, you know, the four years at the time the game had been live, and BaB's throwed in some POS Snipe animation from a blaster set. Never mind the fact that the source of the problem wasn't ET, it was how the stalker functioned in PVP, which was later changed slightly as well. I dunno the specifics on that. I quit after the ET Nerf and swore I wouldn't resub while Castle and BaBs still worked on the title.
But yes. Don't bother with EM. It's a horrible set for the way the game is played now. And if you do, don't pair it with dark armor, because EM doesn't have enough mitigation to cover dark armor's lacking mitigation. (well, you can IO DA up to beast mode, but really, what armor set can you not do that on?) -
The reason you don't see as many Dark Armors as you do Electric Armor or Fiery Aura brutes is Dark Armor is much much worse than those two sets. :P
-
It absolutely in no way was necessary, the game survived and thrived fine with ET as is for around -FOUR- years.
The only place it was problematic was stalkers in PVP, and that wasn't because of ET, that was because of how the Stalker AT operated. -
I know on premium accounts under a certain Paragon Reward level, that Controllers/MMs are locked out unless purchased.
Apparently VEATs/HEATs are available for purchase as well.
This leads me to wonder, if we already have unlocked and are using an Epic Archetype, and our account lapses to premium, do we lose access to the archetype?
I'm hearing conflicting reports from players in game. -
That's what the new free to play trailer would have new players believe anyway.
Check it out.
I have not yet figured out how to enable this. -
Could have been better. Could have been a LOT worse.
-
Absolutely hated the zone for tempting me in with "Save the world!" on my hero and then promptly and repeatedly pointing out how I was murdering people left and right. Seriously, I soldiered through it because, well, new content is new content, but I'll likely never play it again on a heroic character.

Quote:Because, as farms get upvoted by the farming community, it makes legitimate arcs harder to find.
Just because I'm not using the AE the way someone who writes arcs is using it does not mean that I'm making their arcs worse. So what's the harm?
I say this, as someone who does farm sometimes, but I can definitely see the frustration in working for a month on an arc for it to see less than ten plays and never be touched.
