My problem isn't fire/penergy bursts but rather the pets just getting generally owned.
-
Sigh, I was afraid of that. Been doing multi-mails so long in WoW that not being able to do it in other games makes me sad. Time to see if I can get those alts in the SG then, playing drop and gather games with storage should work better.
Quote:This squares with my experience so far, and I'm not anywhere near the def cap. I suspect that if I set my pets against a +2 minion spawn the bots would almost always win with maybe 1 bot lost and the undead would often lose outright or maybe win with half a knight left.Necro/Poison is a squishy single-target debuff specialist and bots/traps is a def capped AoE monstrosity. Bats/tarps is a combo that plays to the game's design very well.
Where is the power in Necro? The spirit and the lich's holds? The drain life attacks at 32? The knight spits out some decent tohit/defense effects, but the damage isn't what I was expecting for a scrapper. Should I try to slot those additional effects?
My /dark is a mercs/dark, which I was hesitant to pick up after hearing of the melee bug on top of the other problems in the set. Who is a good pair for /poison? Noxious Gas seems to need a melee T2 or T3 pet to work from, so I figured the bruiser would be the best choice.
Quote:Good grief, no, don't do it. You will hate your bots forever. However the Explosive Strike proc is awesome in bots.
The damage cap from enhancements is ~100%, right? -
Returning the game, played a few times in the past but not since CoV.
First, is there a addon or setting that lets me mail faster/more easily/multiple items. Feeding my alt one mailed item at a time is annoying.
Second, there doesn't seem much reason to shell out and gather up IOs for the pets until 32. The uniques are far beyond my budget, I've never seen endurance problems on them, and unless the pet does something extra like the prot bot or lich it seems like 3/4 damage and 2/3 accuracies will accomplish the same general thing as frankenslotting with doubles and triples. Am I mistaken here?
Third, is Bots/Traps really that much better than Necron/Poison? I started up with my Necro/Poison, got a bankroll from a few lucky recipe drops, IO'd out, and got to 21. Eventually settled on +2/0 for soloing, since I had a fair amount of trouble with groups. Then I went to burn rest on my Bots/Traps, found it really easy, and then checked the Fateweaver.
It was also set on +2/0. And B/T with TOs did better than the N/P with IOs. Even after I reached 17 on my B/T getting IOs kept pace with the difficulty increase in the teens, and it still plays faster and better except for a few bosses. What gives? On N/P I spam the Alk/Envenom/Weaken trio that seem to form the core of the set's strengths and work pretty hard. On B/T I sit back, drop caltrops on occasion, acid mortar the Lts and Bosses, and drop the beacon as required. Most of the time I do nothing or mess around with the vet attacks.
The bots seem vastly better than the undead pets, even with that ridiculous melee bug. Is B/T just composed of better sets, or is there some strong synergy/lack of synergy in N/P? Should I ditch my N/P and remake as a Thugs/Poison, where I know there is strong synergy late with bruiser & gas? 'cause so far battle drone>zombie, prot bot>knight, and ranged>melee.
Last, should I consider slotting KB on my bots? More knock seems like it would be useful while leveling to 32, but I don't know how effective it would be. -
Quote:Ah, thanks. I had found the strike force list, but didn't know to look there.Obvious one - 45-50, the final Project DESTINY arc (fight Recluse.)
40-45, your Patron arc.
Actually, look on the wiki. Specifically here. -
Quote:20s, right now. I imagine they are common at higher levels, but so far I've only run across the Billie Heck arc.Making me curious which arcs don't have them. I know there're two in Port Oaks (Billie Heck and Angelo Vendetti), you go after Egon in Cap, Nerva has you go after nearly the whole freedom Phalanx piecemeal, Shark is loaded with them (supa-freak FTW!), I guess St Martial only has a few, but then Grandville is loaded again.
Where are you looking that you can't find them? What level range?
/Poison MM, so I was interested in trying to solo them. My other question would be: what difficulty levels do I need to get them to spawn as EBs (or Heroes/AVs)? IOs made my life much easier, so I'm experimenting with difficulty levels. -
As in, where/what story arcs can I find them? I went looking in a few places, and while lists of Strike Force fights with them were easy to find I couldn't really get good info on which ordinary missions I could try some in.

Er, it appears I was on 0/2.
I was hoping to find a way to fight more bosses. They aren't that bad, unless I manage to miss two complete rounds of envenom/weakness attempts. -
Or, what am I supposed to be able to solo? I run a 18 Necro/Poison MM right now, with enough money to buy the basic set IOs.
Normal settings are laughable. But fiddling with things tends to get me overwhelmed. I'm running on +1/2 right now, and I have so little margin. Pure minion spawns are a problem, missing the initial poison debuffs is a problem, and if the stupid pets do something stupid that's a problem. Mobs with AE attacks are a major problem.
I don't think I'm supposed to be losing a minion every other fight. What does quality MM play look like?
