  1. Pfft... I'd wear the complaints like a badge of honor. DESPITE a couple of wet blankets I STILL have a couple of hundred votes averaging 4 stars.

What makes it better is that the complainers probably voted upping the count but not lowering the average much. Ha! Take that! You just got lumped in with everyone else that voted 4!

Which is odd but meaningless, since three anything make an awaken, and awakens normally cost either 150 or 250, I can't remember.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which is what I'm doing. I haven't run into a case yet where I accidentally bought too much without having 3 of something I could convert. That's saying something since I rarely use them and frequently forget to replace them
  3. That someone complained about the word is so... I laugh because I don't want to cry.

I absolutely agree that a glowing review makes it all worthwhile. I've gotten several as well and it always makes my day.

Chin up, 192 votes and 4 stars is something to be proud of.

If you did the same thing in a regular mission then when you logged in you would have fallen out of the mission door defeated. Same thing.

I'm also going to take a WILD stab here (because I've never tried it) that if the same regular mission included a "jail" you would have gone to the area's hospital and not the jail when you respawned after logging back in and while hugging the ground outside the mission door.

If that's true then it is no surprise that you, lying defeated beside the AE mission "door" or datastream, would respawn to an area hospital. Given that assumption, I would think the same thing would happen if you completed the mission before death and hit Exit instead of respawn first.

But yeah, if it could simply put you in the AE hospital any time you are defeated while in AE mode that would probably be better.

There is one thing about the hospital/death etc in AE... the inspiration vendor standing outside the first-aid room doesn't sell awakens.

    I love the AE

That's great. I'm glad AE is multi-functional and you enjoy it.

See? We can all live together. No need to generalize or make fun/hate at each other.
  6. The sendoff dialog has always been in the mission stuff for anyone in the team to read. That isn't new. Heck, I think it works that way in regular content too.

I've tried pulling up the mission description after finishing a mission but it seems like the leader always talks to the contact too soon and it goes away. I'm curious to know if the success/fail dialog shows up there. Somehow I doubt it but I have this nagging feeling I've seen it before when I wasn't the leader.

I tried summarizing the arc in the souvenir but I get that blinky-text error which says to me "TL/DR" so I stopped.

This bugs me in all content... not just AE. In our SG when we do a TF, the leader summarizes each dialog as we go along, and we wait a minute after getting the mission for those that want to pull it up and read before taking off for the next mission. It's a pain but it works for those that are trying to follow the plot.

In other multi-player games I've played, the dialog from the NPC shows up on-screen for everyone as soon as the leader talks to the contact. It isn't something they can interact with, just something you can read. It would be sort of like getting the mission description to pop up automatically (including having responses show up dynamically as they occur) anytime the leader is interacting with the contact. You could close it at your liesure.

    I'd really like that here.

    I love the AE

    Well said.

AE was a clencher for me and my friends. It is totally awesome to be able to stumble across an idea in the game for a follow-up to dev content and then go do it in AE.

    Rating Scores

Issue 15 deleted the HoF and DC badges I think.

I would love to know the exact ratings of my arcs. I'd love to know the exact ratings of arcs I want to play and be able to sort on it.

For one thing - it would cusion the blow when you see your arc go from 5 to 4 stars. If you see your score slowly drop from 5.0 to 4.8 to 4.5 you are prepared when it finally looses that last 1/10th of a point and drops to 4 stars.

Of course, when searching I'd like to know number of votes in each category and sort on that too... sort by number of 5-star votes, sort by number of 5 & 4 star votes combined, etc.
  9. I was having a lot of these same issues not long ago... when was that strange emergency server shutdown? My problems went away after that.

I love MA. Really love the new additions. But boy is it a test of wills at times.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. I was hoping the new toys would take out some of the frustration but now I'm afraid I was being too optimistic.

Not that it will stop me from tinkering with it.

    Once more in English, please?

I think he means that he want the author of an arc to be able to take control over one of the ally NPCs while some other player is playing his arc.

eg. Author has an arc with a Mary Sue. Player plays Mary Sue arc and rescues Mary Sue ally (or fights Mary Sue boss). Author joins Player's team AS the newly rescued Mary Sue. (or PvPs against Player AS Mary Sue boss)

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is a basic control in Neverwinter Nights if the player logs in with the DM Client instead of the Player Client. You can control any NPC, dialog with PC's in a much more meaningful way or even control the monster in the fight (although I found the AI was usually better than I was unless I spent a long time learning the monster's abilities and setup shortcuts well in advance).

It's a very cool feature and allows the author to personalize the adventure in a unique way that can't be duplicated with any pre-programmed options. I used to run a monthly D&D game with geographically wide-spread friends. I'd spend a month designing the dungeon and monsters then we'd go through it in an evening. It was very immersive and enjoyable.

But I don't really ever see this being done for COH. The power of that sort of DM-mode is too prone to being abused. Many NWN players including myself have at least one horror story.

Blue side, my favorite name is my energy/energy blaster, Kilojoule.

    [/ QUOTE ]

One of our teams has a sonic/electric blaster named Kilajoule. We are always calling him Killer and he keeps correcting us "It's KillA... not KillER"

    heh... loads of fun.

I would love more variety in the female sit emotes. Crossed legs w/one arm on back of couch and other crossed over the abdomen or sitting in the lap. Legs together (ankles crossed or not) and knees tilted to one side with hands in lap. There's two off the top of my head thinking back on how my wife sits.

I'd like a much better ground sitting emote for both sexes. The knee-hugging thing just bugs the heck out of me. The guys and girls with pants can use yoga but I'd really like something different.

The sit where they are leaning back on their hands legs outstretched would have worked if the legs didn't go down at an angle so that they are buried in the ground. As it is that is really only useful when sitting on slight slopes like a hill or car roof.

  15. I hear so many stories like this that I'm becoming more and more cynical at the notion that people are basically good.

Really... I just don't understand the amount of hate and vitrol that some people harbor. Sometimes it seems like a majority.

I'm so sorry for her tragedy. It was everyone else that was sick, not her.

    New art

    That's awesome and happy anniversary.
  18. Well.... that wasn't what I wanted to hear but thanks.
  19. According to the wiki they aren't but doesn't actually indicate which in the list are or aren't...

"A *Non-signature strike force spawns according to the highest level person on the team. The Imperious Task Force is an example of a non-signature strike force"
  20. Which ones are "signature" and always spawn at the highest level, and which are non-signature and spawn at the highest level in the party?

Taking a guess I'm going to say that the only signature SF's are Silver Mantis, Ice Mistral, and Recluse. All the others are non-signature. Am I close?
  21. I would think if you change the names - even if they are obvious rip-offs of the original - and don't exactly duplicate costumes (assuming they have one) then I don't see a problem with it. After all, Mad Magazine has been doing it for decades.
  22. I wish I could get in on this. I'd love to run with you guys. Unfortunately I never know what I'm doing on Saturday until the day has arrived.

Someday I'll get a weekend to myself and join you.
  23. My SG mostly abandoned me tonight so, left with nothing else to do, I ran Meet the Demon Spawn (151099).

It was a fun little romp for my 25th level mercenary Master Mind (the only real solo character I have ) with some intense fights in a couple of places. I enjoyed it a lot. The story was simple and the execution logical and fairly tight. I could easily see this being in the Hollows as dev content.

    I only have 2 suggestions...

    1) Have the captives use the Talk animation when freed. That way they'll stand still for 3-4 seconds while they say their thanks before they run to the door. I was having to scroll the chat box back to see what they said because it traveled across the screen too fast.

    2) Mission 1's send-off dialog had some awkward wording. In particular "I'm afraid these guys are gonna to be..." and "their hidin' out is in an office...". I can see the second one being slang but the first just seems to have an extraneous "to" for no apparent reason. If that's just the way Flux should talk then ignore me.

BTW - I really liked your use of colored text, especially in the nav bar. I didn't even know you could do that.
  24. That would be my guess as well. Pretty soon the only animations left to us will be those of 1s or less
