  1. The various Midnighter arcs do not give you an O portal that I'm aware of. The only way to get it hero-side (aside from getting someone to drop a portal for you and snagging the exploration badge in Ouroboros) is to run either Doc Delilah's arc or Agent G's. Both are in Faultline, both deal with a time-travel device (or actually a reality warping device capable of changing the past), and both are for levels 20-24.

Jim Temblor (also in Faultline) will introduce you to Doc once you reach 21st level even if you've never done his arc or otherwise have him as a contact.

That is just for future reference since you are already 38th level so in that character's case you'll have to get someone to drop it for you.
  2. * Broadsword for Tankers
    * Level 30-35 SF for villains
    * Story arcs for Incarnates (i.e. contacts that start at level 50 the first of which is automatically introduced after running Ramiel's arc)
    * Proliferate all or most of the little bits of furniture and wall decorations in mission maps, hospitals, stores, etc to bases
    * More Cimerora-type TF/Trial zones... Camelot, Atlantis, etc.

More costumes goes without saying I think.
  3. The one outside the market in Nova is bad too. If you are inside when it spawns you have no way of knowing until you step out and get plastered without even a chance to defend yourself (no powers coming out and I was dead before I could see my surroundings). I suppose all it cost me was a quick trip to the hospital and some patrol xp but it was annoying.

There are other equally bad present locations everywhere.
  4. I'm going to post here because it seems the most likely to get seen. The thread in the Dev's Corner is kind of overrun at the moment.

What if we run a task force over several days and stradle the Weekly Strike Target change? Does it count what day we start, or what day we finish, or possibly both?

Our supergroup runs TF's once a week and with a few exceptions never finish in a single night so this is kind of an important question for us.

I'm going to guess it counts what day you finish which is fine. Hopefully a twist of fate will allow us to collect the extra reward sooner or later. If it has to start and stop within the week then I'm a sad puppy.
  5. This is my first MMO. I think my first question here was how to find the tunnels in Faultline which got some very quick and helpful answers. If those first responses had been insults, I wouldn't still be playing COH.

The community here and in-game is awesome and makes the game much more fun. I brought friends with me but I've made quite a few too - our coalition is a great bunch of guys and gals and it wouldn't be the same experience without them.
  6. I think they have a flame thrower because Anti-Matter is a villain and for villains everything is better with a flame thrower or gatling gun attached to it.
  7. Yeah well, I'm giving the Hamster a mark down in his grade for not reducing his fractions.
  8. I'm very picky on which sets I slot to make sure I'm getting good slotting for the power as well as a semi-decent set bonus. The result of that philosophy gives different answers to that question depending on the AT, but on my scrappers I end up with good damage and accuracy on a reasonably tough character.

My main scrapper is at or slightly above the soft cap on melee defense but not the other positions but she definitely kicks tail very quickly and I'm proud of her. My main tank is very survivable (except against Lanaruu apparently ) while feeling very scrapperish in the damage department and I'm proud of her too.
  9. Problem with the LGTF is that most teams I hear about are stealthing the missions.

    Can't get shards that way.
  10. When I started my first villain about a week after upgrading from the trial version, a Widow asked to join my friend and I as we stood cluelessly looking out from the Fort on Mercy Island.

When he found out how new (and broke) we were he bought both of us a full set of training enhancements and kept them upgraded for two nights and 7 levels of play. He explained a lot about how the game worked red-side (sadly we were too low for mayhem missions so we didn't get to that lesson - we had to learn them the hard way). We had a ton of fun culminating with the final mission in Mercy vs the snakes in that cave with the huge snake idol. It was a freaking awesome experience. Sadly I haven't seen that Widow since.

I try to pass that along when I can but probably not as often as I should.

Paragon wiki is outdated on the Nemesis stories
Dark Watcher's arc tells the story and it's all in the wiki. In fact, the very first clue in the first mission pretty well lays out how he started the Rikti war.

What I know about Mender Silos I got from Ramiel. After you finish the arc one of the many questions you can ask him is "Who is Mender Silos?" and he confesses that Silos is indeed Nemesis. Ramiel also warns you not to judge him from his past because people change (or something to that affect). But you are right, we don't really know anything about the relationship between the current Nemesis and Silos if any.
  12. My praetorian stalker played in both of those events last Wednesday, each time with masterminds in the team.

In the protest event the area is so small that I was unable to attack much of anything. Usually the pets had killed everything before I could even target them although frankly I didn't try very hard since the area was so crowded and it seemed like I was always on the wrong side of the parking lot when things spawned. I got the truncated list and the mastermind got the whole list as did a brute in the group, I'm not sure what the blaster got as he exited right after the event and didn't comment on it.

In the great escape event we had two masterminds. Having learned my lesson I intercepted groups of ghouls before they got to the team and fought them on my own. Once in the sewers I tried to stay well ahead of everyone and did what I could to fight as many as possible. The MM from the first event mostly held her demons in bodyguard mode (feeling guilty for me not getting a full reward list in the first event I think) and used her personal attacks and kept everyone bubbled. The new MM sent hers in to fight and did nothing else as far as I could tell. Everyone on the team except the new MM got the extended list.

That's just my experience but it does seem to bear out Support's reply quoted above. I think it stinks that a MM's primary power set doesn't count for some reason but it is what it is... at least for now.

This is immediately what I thought of. Who would be a more natural set of incarnates than the Round Table? There would of course be new costume pieces and emotes to go along with the new zone.

I can't imagine how a dance emote would require 2 unless it is like the slap/react emotes which don't really work well in practice. Would be cool though.

Also love the exciting costume bits being hinted at... necklaces, scabbards, costumes that "touch the ground" or any of the above... nice but I'll believe them when I see them.

Shape shifting class? Animal masterminds? Nah... An animalistic version of ninja run sounds like a more sane interpretation but I can't help but hope.
  14. Because the whole concept for rogues and vigilantes is that they can team with anyone and they can't... they are excluded from helping their friends on the opposite side with the Ouroboros arcs (TF's, flashback or the new alpha slot arc).

I think it should depend on where you are standing, not your alignment (except in co-op zones) and eventually they should just merge it so everyone goes to the same place.

    Hostages Dying

We failed a mission recently because of that (enemy AoE's killing the hostage) but I can't remember which mission (or if it was a tip mission or not). We made sure to pull hostage guards after that.

I bet he followed someone going into Pocket D from across the street. Ouch. Thanks for the report.

  18. Ah, the present across the street? Was it close enough for them to immediately start attacking you as you exited or did you have to move into the street? I guess I'm asking if it was possible to avoid if you were careful.
  19. I know I saw someone else post about this but my search-fu is weak.

Some presents are in very bad locations if they happen to spawn the Winter Lord. I walked out of the market in Imperial City and when my screen came back from being black I was dead. It is especially bad there because the market has power suppression.

    1) near the Imperial City market entrance
    2) near the Imperial City trainer (from that previous post I remember)
    3) near the Steel Canyon base portal
    4) near the Talos Island Pocket D exit
    5) near contact Warrant in Nova Praetoria

It seems like there are quite a few near mission doors but I guess those are harder to forsee. Anyone else had a similar experience and/or want to add to the list?
  20. Time for a fame point to fade away?

Good to know. I always assumed all numbers were calculated and then the minimum was applied.

This plus the placate (Pocket D/Tailor) on squishies and the Invention crafting discount tickets (Market/Store) on all.

I loved the two teleporters (market and base) but with the merged lines I don't use them nearly as much now.

If you plan to do the Shard Task Forces on a non-flying character, the fly travel power (Shard/Train) is a nice emergency backup for when your raptor pack gives out half-way across a zone.

I guess all of those are accolade powers. I find the normal day-job powers not really worth the effort most of the time although if all else fails I stand in a train station becase A) I'm probably already at one and B) A little extra speed never hurts.
  23. I hope they fix this in the next week or so while the event is still going on. I kind of feel disconnected from the event without all the gift-giving.
  24. I was sort of hoping for an extension (I was busy with RL the last 3 weekends), but 4 more weeks? Wow. They'll be turning it off just in time to turn on the Valentine event

What would be really cool though would be if they'd fix it so our older characters can get the Holiday Cheer/Spirit temp powers. Only my 2 or 3 new characters got them this year and I miss giving out gifts.

    Nurses

Well, the natives have obviously become accustomed to the strangely dressed time travelers. The only reason for an NPC to dress native is to insinuate the person IS a native (such as the mercenary guards) which apparently does not apply to the nurse.

If the nurse's outfit was changed at all, I'd like it to be an appropriately dressed midnighter - a Victorian-era nurse would be very cool - but not a native.
