Major lack of BURST damage. Sonic would complement fire or ice blast more than rad i'd say. I reckon a sonic/therm and fire/cold would be the bomb, personally.

Mobs can be useful in pvp in PvP zones, can get juicy fulcrums from a mob, or heal from them on sets like dark armour, or any power like energy absorption, where more foes = more uber.
