Quote:The Beard is actually known as "The Beard That Walks Like A Man."By "The Beard" I mean...The Beard, not Alan Moore. They are separate entities. One of them is a symbiote. I'll let you guess which.
Alan Moore is the symbiote. I think.
I need to log in and make The Beard now. What do you think for powersets?
Maybe I could level pact with Rouge Angle of Satin. -
Sadly, I'm out of invites at the moment, but I'll help keep this alive so someone else might see it and send you one.

Due to a string of bad luck, I've had to drop the game for a few months at a time, and came back as soon as I could.
I always miss the community most of all when I'm gone. It's one of the few places where we can have a civil discussion on most topics and it not turn into a volatile flame pit.
Like was previously said, I think it's because we're an older, more mature group of people, and we're a lot more tolerant of others people's opinions.
In other games, if you were to post a build that was different than the standard cookie-cutter builds everyone else had, you'd get the trolling remarks and snarky comments.
Over here? It's "That's interesting. I'd do it a little different, but that looks like a fun build."
Great players. Great game. Great people. That's why this community is the best.
And the first time you try to enter a tram from the exit door and wonder why the train isn't responding? You're no longer a new player. But I've never done that... twice in a row. -

Quote:Good eye there. It's possible that's the idea. New game out, let's make some headlines and draw attention to our products.I still wonder if this had anything to do with DCUO. I mean if we accept the idea that DC's relationship to the CCA has been relatively meaningless for years why did they finally pick now to make their break from the CCA official? Just seems more than merely coincidental somehow.
Quote:That was the one - Amazing Spider-Man #96-98, in May-July 1971, dealt with drugs.
Quote:Power Girl's bustline was initially considered "average", which was back when she had just a scoop-front top instead of the current "cleavage window". Wally Wood (no, seriously, that's his name), the artist for All-Star Comics, reportedly increased her chest size gradually wanting to see how long before someone would notice. Nobody did.
To borrow from the late George Carlin... "CCA didn't see it, I didn't do it, case closed." -
Quote:Yeah exactly!Alan Moore to guest-star? (I can't be the only one who immediately had that thought when he read "the Beard" in that list.)
Then he'll complain how he was misrepresented, and how every line delivery was not exactly what he meant.
I love his writing, but seriously, he needs to take a deep breath and relax. -

As for myself, I'm against personal housing as it takes time and resources away from the game for things that I would find interesting.
But if it's not required it'd be okay with it being introduced. If it does affect me, it better be Apex moving out of the apartment, and me sharing it with War Witch. I could do that! -

Back before I got my new computer, which is about 5x better than the one I had before, if I played for more than an hour before hitting up the Market on either side, I would lag out and dc.
The only option was to log out and restart the game before going into the Market interface. This may help you. -
Quote:That's my favorite strategy. Of course, even after having studied "The Art of War" and playing dozens of RTS games I still have the tactical capabilities of small rabid mammal. YMMVThere is also the "beat him senseless with pure DPS" method.
That one is usually employed by all scrapper teams, but can be done with any collection of high damage characters. -
I remember watching an interview with Stan Lee talking about one comic issue, maybe Spiderman (?) in the mid-60's or so, that had an issue dealing with something the CCA wouldn't let them run.
They ran the comic without the CCA logo imprinted on it, which means the CCA couldn't review and object to it, and it still sold, and no one complained about it missing the logo. -
So I guess #10 will popping up as The Capes villian of the week soon?
"Oh no, Cape, it's the Beard!"
And #15 doesn't sound that threatening. Maybe he's in a Hootie and the Blowfish cover band? -
You're right, it is still the case. A friend and former coworker of mine asked me to make a character to join him on Guardian. I didn't get the Check Name option until I had made one character on that server.

Quote:So did Stephen King.I actually liked the more recent, made-for-TV miniseries version of The Shining better than the Jack Nicholson movie.
Quote:At the moment, they're already set to "corrupt" Common Grounds and Twilight Guardian, so you're too late. I've also done Witchblade, Hulk, and Turok, but they're not my characters. And City of Heroes? Hey, YOU deal with their lawyers...
Can I play a cat in TG? -
Welcome to the game and to Freedom. My global is in my sig, add me as well.
I won't be on as much after the middle of Febuary, because I'm opening my own restaurant, but I'll help you out with anything I can when I'm on. -
The ones where the mission NPC is talking to directly to you like "Hey, it's Wrencher, the guy you're supposed to meet" or "If Crow distracts my partner again, I'll cut him, deep," are the ones the OP is discussing I believe.
They do not show up in the NPC chatter lines. -
Quote:Ignoring the obvious punctuation and spelling errors of your post, it seems you posted just to post, not to contribute anything valuable in the thread, or argue any of the points made by the OP.angry nerd rage rants are better served with correct spelling, adaptions isn't a word.
secondly, i could possibly see your reasoning if someone "adapted" a book by writing another book...... but transferring medias is, in itself, a reason to do so. regardless of the end product and whether you appreciate it or not is not the point, it's the reasoning behind it. Which you must assume is "i like this (insert original source material), wouldn't it be great if could turn it into a movie". haven't we all thought that exact same thing about a beloved story from our past? and aren't we all equally assured that we would absolutely hate what someone else has done with "our beloved material"?
your rant is unsolicited, and since it wasn't in response to a specific adaptation, it smacks of self indulgence, born of the anonymity of the internet. thank you oh so much for foisting your angst ridden, misspelled complaints on all of us.
Fail troll is fail. Good day, sir.
EDIT:
Another point is that few people who read a book can see the same thing the same way. The other day @Anasthesia and were discussing the fact that Ron Howard is making Stephen King's "Dark Tower" into a film and TV series. We were discussing who should play who. When I suggested Aaron Paul, from "Breaking Bad" as Eddie Dean, she countered with Josh Stuart, who plays Joshua in "No Ordinary Family" as her dream Eddie.
Ron Howard will probably go with a different actor completely, but it just proves that people, even those as close as someone you're going to marry, cannot see one person in a book the same way. -

Yes, I knew that. Just found out you can drag a character from one page to another to add them to the first page order as well.
