Quote:Well Donna, I can honestly say I can see your issue.Ok i'm pretty new to WS's, I was tempted to make a PB recently but the forums seem to rave about WS's and I like the sound of a few of the powers so I just wanted to clear up a few things that i'm not sure about.
1)
(Just poking fun at the pre-edit post!) -
At the Meet and Greet they announced their primary goal was Nov 16th, but would then aim for after Thanksgiving weekend if that wasn't possible.
Since we haven't seen Open Beta yet, I'd bet on after Thanksgiving (Nov 25th for all you outside America). -
Quote:I hope she didn't become a pilot of...well anything. When my sister was around 5 years old, one day, out of the blue she says "When I die, I'm taking all my friends with me!"
My sister once said, "When I grow up, I want to be a cash register!"
She also sang the entire national anthem in her sleep. -
I set up a Hamidon Raid this weekend while away from the game. I logged in this morning to solo the Hamidon. Many of the Mitos I were looking at were 2x as many as STARTING OUT. Do the developers really think that people want to play a game that only grouped raiders get stuff in? I have 42 months in this game, most of my toons are SO'd, and one, ONE, has a participated in Hami. These Mitos are splitting for 2 each, so, let me think, I would need to game about 20 years at my current rate to get one toon to solo Hamidon.
Do the developers really believe this is what makes for a happy gaming community? I think I am gonna log for a month or two. I can workout, play music, do art, but I'll be damned if I sit and solo Hamidon for 3 months to accomplish like 3 of the things that I figure i'll need 18 of. -
Blue, let me put it simply:
Average "casual" players don't care about those Enhancements. I know I don't. I don't have a single one, on any of my characters, and I'm not crying about it. Look how much I care:
Guess how much content gets crushed under my heroic/villanous foot? All content I have faced thus far.
Don't lower the bar for everyone, Blue. Think of the children. -
Quote:Do you? If the Market isn't fun for you, stay out of it.Wow. You guys are really addicted to the fact that market prices need to be 2 billion, and that playing the market is how to make money.
Let me clue you in to a little fact. Most people who get this game want to create and run characters. Most of the people who play this game want to earn rewards with their characters.
Think about it. Think about marketing a game. It is a game, remember. Stay with me now. A game is supposed to be fun. You remember fun, right? -
Quote:I'm definitely not "feeling" you. You're wrong on earning Inf, by the way. Farming is probably the worst way to earn, you can get 2 billion in weeks with just the market (if you follow the guides).Yeah. I do not think the vast majority of the posters are feeling me. i am a 42 month Vet. I did not arrive in the cities yesterday. I understand what you are saying about diminishing returns. I am saying, there is no feasible way for anyone to get one toon fully tricked out with purples and PvP enhancers unless they 1) farm all day every day for a year. (farm, not play) 2) buy in game cash from china illegally.
So, the Devs have set up this situation. the Devs need to fix it. Most people want to spend 3-6 months on one toon, and have something way cool to show for it. if the Devs do not get that then they need to have a serious conference style think tank day.
I have a Blaster softcapped to ranged defense on a 150million Inf build. You know what I did? I bid low, and waited. I told friends what recipes I was after so they could help me out if they dropped. My SG started to collect the salvage for all my Thunderstrikes (before I had all of the recipes). I have 0 PvP recipes. I have 0 Purple recipes. I got a god-like build from playing the game.
Much like real life, focus on the things you need. If what you want seems out of reach, then work harder, or re-assign your goals. -
72 Month Vet here. I stay because it's still fun, really.
I haven't made any lasting friendships (yet?), but the game seems to attract the types of people I like. -

I hope I didn't miss anything by not having speakers...
I watched it 3 times, and you're right that "new" stuff shows up all the time. I think it would be cool if you added even more clips as time goes on.
My condolences on your friend, by the way. The idea for this project was pretty brilliant. -
My Earth/Rad controller loves it. If you can stack it with practically any other AoE hold, it becomes very fun.
Of course whenever I go into melee, I keep getting reported for using an exploit. You know, since Controller types aren't allowed. -
Very well done. I love it when people really commit to their costumes. I imagine that won't be immediately retired to the crawlspace with the rest of the Halloween stuff.
My lady expressed an interest in being a Carnie Fencer next year.
I was supportive. -
Okay, my take since these wouldn't require a ton of work*:
Flight: Quantum Flight
TP: Assemble the Team
Leaping: Footstomp
Speed: Shield Charge
Conceal: Smoke Grenade
Leadership: Surveillance
Medicine: Speed Boost
Presence: Rise to the Challenge
No, they aren't new. It seems strange to me that people would expect new pool powers to do things you can't find anywhere else. Most Power Pool powers are just lessened copies of stuff specific sets get anyway.
*All based on existing powers. Please assume all have appropriately balanced numbers. -
My Gun Drone is Shooty McGunn. Shooty for short. That's a callback to my TFC Engineer days. I think Ripley is okay, but I'll stick with Shooty
-
I don't know what I'm more excited about, Hurdle or Swift. Part of me is wondering if their bonuses will be lowered for Dwarf forms. Call it paranoia.
-
I've had maybe 1 or 2 characters that I got right on the first try. Sometimes I feel a bit of regret that I didn't keep my first heroes first costume. It was godawful, but it was the first!
-
Heroes/Vigilantes are all on Liberty, sorted by how much I like them (so it's constantly shifting).
Villains/Rogues on Freedom, sorted by much the same.
Praetorians get mixed in dependent upon what side they will end up on. -
My tri-form mentality:
Is the power a copy of something in the forms?* Skip it.
Is the power a weak +RES toggle? Skip it.
Is the power Hasten? Get it.
*Mire being the notable exception to this rule. -
I would love to be able to participate in these types of events, but scheduling is usually against me. I'm glad some servers are getting later times, so I can hop on a secondary server to participate.
Also, thanks for the Origin Codes as a consideration! -
Quote:I've always been a bit on the fence about this issue. I bolded the part of your counter that essentially convinced me you are 100% correct. Let's do it, Devs!<snip>
Counter:
There are already some energy weapons available from the start, and some unlocked for these weapons (Vanguard Blades, Tech Swords/Mace) showing that this is not a stipulation. In addition, Shield Defence has a menagerie of Elemental shields that have no effect on the defences given (Fire, Ice, Stone, Energy, Dark, Electric) rendering such a point moot.
Personal Point:
I have a Dual Blades/Ice Armour Tanker who would love to have access to Greater Ice Sword and Ice Sword for his Right/Left hand blades. -
That set (Curtail Speed) will only work in powers that slow enemies.
If you don't have a slow power, you can't slot that. -
-
Okay, not the method used as an example, but you could:
1. Level pact with friend.
2. Log out.
3. Wait roughly twice the time it takes to normally get to 50.
You can even team with your friend on another character, and powerlevel your pacifist if you want!
Whatever the method, the idea is so ridiculous it brings a smile to my face. Good thread -
Quote:As far as the halloween event goes this year, anyone know if you need to have an open tip slot to receive the tip? Or did they have foresight when designing the tip system to allow a special slot for event tips?
You can still get the Halloween tip mission even if you are full with regular tips.
