  1. Do you have a US account?

    1) Change your region to EU (its under advanced)

    2) The "integrated" part is so far just set up for the test server and *not* live
    3) No smegging idea, i dont have that problem myself, unless you have botched a removal of CoX previously.

Just to point out, there *was* a patch for the test server (at least EU side) yesterday, that was around 25MB.....

    Windows 7 issue

I actually have my paging file set to either 4 or 8GB on my system (4GB RAM). And I am *generally* using around 2GB of it as i come out of boot.

Maybe I can look at my chat tabs and get rid of the combat dmg/activation/tohit rolls or what not....

    Thanks

Edit: Although re-reading your first paragraph; my problem is not just when I use PBAoEs but when anyone uses them. Some days/nights it's totally fine and no problems; other nights....it's a screenshot/power point slideshow of frame rate lag....
Microsoft Security Essentials up and running? If so, put the CoX folder into its exclusions under settings...
  5. Ooooh Fastest completion time for *ALL* the Shadow Shard, and Cavern of Trancendance aaaand the Sewer Trial... (ok, maybe slighly biased, as i have never done them and i need the badges).

Maybe a few more of the trials to round out my sets

Subjective: I do like it, however, I'm not sure if I like the fact the EULA (ie, that thing nobody reads) is on the log-in screen. Also, I find it a little curios that NCSoft will let me patch COH before verifying I have an account (trial, active, etc). Not that I mind, of course, but it seems like a possible cost savings.
You can already patch up CoX without verifying you have an account right now... infact it does it as soon as you launch the game with the current existing launcher
  7. oooh If this is the same issue as i had (and i love my chat logs by the way) If you are using MSIE (Microsoft Security Essentials), you put the COX directory into its exclusions.

I never *ever* thought that it would be related to chatlogging, but I can see why now

Looking at how the game is set up, and that you don't actually log in via the launcher, I honestly cant see why they would hook the launcher up to the log-in server

As i have an Aion and Lineage 2 account as well, I have never suffered any hacking on my accounts.

Typically, those who *do* lose their accounts, either have a keylogger on their account, click stupid links in "real" Aion emails or visit generally "dubious" websites.
    {/flamegearenabled}

But i have *never* heard of the NCsoft Launcher being a potential vulnerability for someone to steal login credentials, unless your PC was *already* compromised
  9. I have 2 50's, one of which I am slowly purpling out. I play *maybe* 4-6 hours a week, generally at most 2 hours a sitting due to the marvelous ability of being able to get distracted/bored easily.

I have been though (in the past) very hardcore playing, racking up about 40+hours a week for the 1st few months of the game life in the EU (still only 1 at level 50 as I generally tend to be a single character player).

I would probably call myself casual, especially after coming back to the game in September last year. I have probably managed about 80 hours in game since then?

Not *quite* true, but a valid point.

The launcher can be set up so that it closes down whenever a game is launched (settings/General). It does require the Checkbox to be *unticked* for it to close when you "click the X", but the dropdown option works as well.
  11. Installed nice and easily for me.

Found where I had installed, and *then* moved games, or just butchered the install... All worked nicely.

For me, the download speed of the Test Server patch (EU) was at full line speed available (20Mb).

Turned off the "launch at Windows startup" and set the option for it to *close* down when the game is launched.

This was a trick i learnt from when i was playing TR. It works for me, and i like how fast it actually patched up to the test server (about 90seconds after i downloaded the patch).

I just wish i could set Steam up to do that as well

RAM usage *after* the Test server patch stayed high, but at least just restarting the launcher resolved that issue.

Nice and smooth, and actually works Now i can remove all the icons i have on my desktop for NCsoft games (well Guild Wars, GUild Wars patcher, and CoX/CoX Test.)

*edit* Its nice that the option for verifying files is there... Its been a while but i cannot remember if it is *automatic* after a game/PC crash or not. If it isnt, then it can be handy for some people as well who just want to quickly get back ingame
  12. Errm what gfx card is fitted... because according to the datasheet from Fujitsu, it can have either an ATI card *or* Intel card.

If its the Intel Integrated, then they will have some issues (i believe you have to use a custom shortcut for CoX so it loads up differently)....
  13. The main difference between the brands:

    1) Early on in the cards life: Nothing

    2) As the product matures, you will generally find them "overclocking" the hardware by default... increasing the RAM on the card, adding on stupid large fans...

    3) Extra's in the box... DVI adaptor, games, 6pin-molex adaptors... they all vary, so it depends on what else extra you need.

My last card (Gigabyte 1GB GTS250) actually came with *no* extra's apart from the DVI adaptor and a SPDIF cable... my most ZOtac 1GB GTX460 came with DVI adaptor, power adaptor and some software (XBMC and few other things that i already had).

AFAIK, very few actually go "so far" off the beaten track modding the card that you need "their own brand" drivers...that is more of the realm of laptops
  14. No bar... although it is central brum, so enough nearby!
  15. Been here for a while... and for me the ones that i tend to "speed run" are Lady Gray and Imperious...

Now on the flip side, I also do "kill most" runs for them as well... with the ITF typically taking 1 hour to kill pretty much everything, and Lady Gray taking about 90 minutes.

It really depends on what the group is after as well...I prefer "kill all" missions as i am *not* set up properly for a proper stealth run, but if there are people on the team who can help us "jump" ahead of annoying parts, then I am also all for it.

But because i generally only play a few hours a week... Speeeeed ITF if one group of friends is online, and "Kill all" if another group is on.
  16. Will be there!

(Well kinda have to, seeing as I am going to be her official slave for the event!)

Also make sure you have all the updated service packs (upto 3) for Windows 7.

I had problems when I first installed Windows 7, but this worked for me. Hope it helps.
Programs (x86) is where *all* 32bit software gets installed on a 64bit system by default. Having had CoX in the "programs (x86) direcotry previously, i have had no issues.
  18. Are you running Microsoft Security Essentials?

If so, under settings put the CoX directory under exclusions.

This will prevent it from crapping your game when it gets busy...
  19. Hmm, cant see why it would have any problems to be honest.

Disabling Aero should help improve its performance though.

One thing to point out though is that unless you are having issues finding 64bit drivers for your hardware go for the 64bit OS. This is so that Windows can allocate all of the RAM and GFX ram and break the 4GB limit that a 32bot OS has.
  20. Turn off Aero on Windows 7 to improve your performance.

What are the spec's of the machine?

Not that shocking ot be honest.... water of *any* depth without an outside source of heating will have a region that is 4C (useless but interesting fact). So even if the surface is frozen over, there will be a layer of water that is 4C
  22. I *never* made it to the end game of the other MMO... mainly because I chose the wrong class, and I am really a single character kinda player.
