Yes
Evertyhing except the EU updater and your screenshot folder.
Assuming both are on exact same version - they usually are but updates get released at different time of day so may differ for a short period. It has also happened that a bug was found on US so it wasn't rolled out to EU in the past. -
The same could also apply if it is connected but the PSU isn't capable of supplying the power required by your graphics card from the power rail it is connected to. More likely to be an issue with lower rated or budget PSUs or if you have a lot of other peripherals connected.
Another possibility would be if the card is overheating - this would affect CoV more than Coh as many of the maps redside are more graphically intensive if the cooling on your card is borderline. -

Those would be all the posts made by invis - eh Naked people -
Well most of the run down housing areas in Paragon are in a far worse state than any in the Rogue Isles - Prime examples being Baumtown (Boomtown) - totally devastated, Astoria (DA) overrun by BP and in perpetual night, Woodvale (Eden) overrun by DE, Croatoa - in the process of being overun by an alternate dimension. Really any of the Rogue Isles zones with the possible exception of Grandville would be a better place to set up home
-
I rarely find lag bad enough to significantly affect TP - yes occasionally it happens but the rubberbanding on SS is more frequent.
As for the OPs suggestion, I'm not totally convinced about 1 - we have long had the difference in whether an ally or foe is a valid target and changing this would mean characters with both abilities would save a slot - this could provide difficulties with implementation as they would initially have duplicated powers. There would also be a potential for griefing by tping other players against their will when they are not enemies. Prompt teleport isn't appropriate in this case as that would allow enemies to ignore it.
You'd also need to consider the WS equivalent powers.
2 Is interesting - I could see this working if instead of casting a high mag confuse it simply tped you randomly around either your target or your current location, keeping facing them after each.
3 No change - so nothing to comment on
4 Almost but I'd want to keep this as range:zone to avoid it being seriously overpowered. -

Aside from the three Faultline ones and a few on the Ouroboros TFs, we've got: Frostfire, Atta, Dr. Vahzilok, Heracles, Maestro, Envoy of Shadow, Terra, Countess Crey, Madame of Mystery, 'Nemesis?', Nosferatu, Portal Corp Missions (Dreck, Preatorians, Babbage and the Psychic Clockwork King). Did I miss any...?
I could understand it if this was redside though. Some of those arcs are more random in EB/AV placement.
[/ QUOTE ]
The rest of the Nemesis clones, Adamastor, Psychic Babbage, the various ones on LGTF/ITF/STF, most of Recluse's crew, the Shadow Shard ones, Arakahn, Requiem and I'm certain there's still some missing after adding those in.
Having said that there's not many ATs that are not capable of taking down an EB solo either side - a few specific AVs may be extremely difficult for some granted - Envoy of Shadows and for melee characters lacking KB protection Balistas spring to mind. In the case of high mez EBs breakfrees are pretty much essential on squishies but thats to be expected - you still get that issue with bosses. -

As for an explanation from NCsoft West: they've given one to the press, and it's been reproduced in a few places. Copy'n'Paste from a Massively article:
[ QUOTE ]
"In order to solidify and streamline company operations across all NCsoft West territories, we are implementing some structural changes this week which will impact 70 to 90 employees. We are working with these employees to determine the best fit for approximately 80 alternate positions within the company.
.
The European office is transitioning to have a stronger focus in marketing and sales, with many of the existing disciplines being consolidated in our studios on the US West Coast and our headquarters in Seattle. Additionally, we are transitioning to an embedded quality assurance (QA) model in which the QA staff works in our studios directly with the development teams, providing support throughout the entire development process.
.
This finalizes the NCsoft West reorganization plan which began last September, and the resulting structure will better support the company's direction." - NCsoft PR

The real iisue here is that this message should have gone out to the customer base at the same time as it went to the press. Finding out this sort of information third hand really has done no favours for NCSoft or NCWest - even worse considering NCSofts stated values of Openess, Integrity and Agile all of which I would say have been completely failed by the lack of communication in this. -

I'm more impressed at how GG has studiously avoided responding to me for months now. Maybe respond to a response someone else made to me, but actually talk to me?
I'm having an effect.

I play this game for nearly 4 years, and only seen GG _once_ ingame. Talking about avoiding eh...
[/ QUOTE ]
Surprisingly I've only seen her once as well and that amazingly wasn't on Defiant but rather the 'Drunk' server. -
Ah 6 then
Ok off of a single foe it makes sense
As for the "guide" I think I counted 2 bits I would agree with - one being the subjective judgement that White Dwarf tanks better than Dark Dwarf although his rationalle behind it is seriously flawed. The other being that it is full of typos.
All in all I'd agree with the other opinions already given and recommend you ignore everything he says in it. -
Those resists seem somewhat low - how many mobs is that off of? Slotted for resist you shouldn't need very many to hit cap (85%) across the board.
Yes Human form can be a lot of fun - needs more attention in terms of how to play it especially in you need to adapt playstyle according to team makeup.
Was also funny when Nightstar (I think) held me and then died to my Whirling Death - I'm still sure that toggle should suppress as it does damage but it doesn't.
My first Kheld was a tri form PB (well really Nova/Dwarf - the human form isn't slotted that well) so when I started my WS I decided to go humanform and never regretted it - excellent in teams and very capable of soloing when necessary even before they nerfed Voids. The more conventional builds are Human or Human/Dwarf PB and triform WS - I do need to sort out a second build to try out the Purple Floating Forrtress Of Doom from the triform WS at some point though.
Basically PBs and WSs both play differently from each other and each have a multitude of different build options so the best advice is to try both, consider the type of playstyle you like - What ATs do you tend to play and are you looking for something with a similar playstyle or something different then select two different types of build on each that you can work with. Also don't let the voids and quantums get to you - they are still a threat at low levels but once you get some damage mitigation they have been nerfed to oblivion. Definitely make sure you do the Kheld arcs - there are some surprises in some of them from a variation of a popular villain group. -

You need to look at the whole picture not just a single figure out of context.

I think I was probably a bit over defensive in my response - posting whilst wound up is never a good idea.

If you're talking about DPS, then say so, but per use Propel will always outdamage any other power in Gravity Control.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not really straight DPS more the sort of level of contribution it makes in a typical attack chain taking into account the impact that other team members have. Solo or in a small team you see its full benifit which as you say is significantly more than the other powers, however in a large high damage team I find this to be much less of an advantage due to its high activation time - I'll frequently see about half of my attacks with propel either cancelled as the target dies before it activates or worse between its interrupt and actication time so it ends up being fired at a corpse which is a real pity given how much fun propel is. OK granted the team also tends to defeat mobs with DoT from the Hold and Immob still to be applied which will obviously reduce the impact from those as well - it just less noticible and definitely less frustrating.
[ QUOTE ]
I admit I got the powers in question mixed up, but you yourself showed there's not much difference in the damage.
[/ QUOTE ]
Personally I think the devs got them mixed up when they named them. Crush as a name seems to fit the hold better than the immob and I mix them up myself frequently.
I always thought Crush did much lower damage than it does and it may be I was attributing some of this damage to the hold
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Also from my combat tab - yes lift does indeed show up and containment is affecting it - it looks as if there is a bug in that the damage numbers do not show over the mob on a held opponent.
[/ QUOTE ]You might not be noticing it because Lift has a damage delay (the time it would normally take for the mob to fly through the air) which is not removed when the mob is affected by -KB. What is it, about one or one-and-a-half seconds between cast and damage dealt?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes that may be the problem - especially when it registers after a later attack has hit. -
[/ QUOTE ]Crush: 30.6 base damage.
Propel: 59.9 base damage.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well Crush is the immob power not the hold
Gravity Distortion has a base damage of 33.64 however it has a acc mod of 1.2 rather than Propel's 1.0 in other words you can expect it to hit more often. - either that or save a slot that would otherwise be used for acc and instead add some recharge to it which will increase total damage. The other big problem with propel which will greatly reduce the damage you see from it is that it has a huge activation time of 3.5 seconds and in a good team your target will normally be on its way to the Zig before it fires.
You need to look at the whole picture not just a single figure out of context.
Also from my combat tab - yes lift does indeed show up and containment is affecting it - it looks as if there is a bug in that the damage numbers do not show over the mob on a held opponent. -
Another possibility may be if you are trying to run your desktop at an unsupported resolution setting and have CoX set up to use desktop resolution, probably only an issue for some of the widescreen settings.
Other less likely possibilities
I presume you are seeing all of the game window on the screen - its not just pushed half off of the viewable area when set up to run windowed.
May also be set to span multiple windows or have a virtual desktop which is larger than the physical one. -
OK your next task is to identify which port is the one that successfully connects - there is a paramater setting you can use to force the updater to use a particular port.
-
Oh I'd agree a good team will probaly be 5-6 hours - I have been on a team thats completed it in sub 4 hours in the past but that was exceptional. Now that Raptor packs are easilly and cheaply available in FBZ its much more accessible, but if some need to disappear for food, pacifying spouses, picking up kids this can extend and these sort of things are much more likely on this with it being so long to start with.
I can remember when it used to be 12-18 hours as the normal length and 8 hours was considered exceptional.
I'd say running Posi, Sister P and Psynapse back to back would give you a better return on the time.
To say nothing of ITF, LGTF and a couple of respecs - again about the same overall time -
[ QUOTE ]
Its not the ISPs
We are attempting to do a Lady Grey and everyone in the team has had mapservers, rubberbanding etc all ther way through, to the point of ditching it.
We have also all experienced not being able to get back in and all different ISPs.
[/ QUOTE ]
But do all the affected ISPs use the same peers - possibly within the UK - several probably use some of the others as peers anyway.
They almost certainly share the same backbone link to Europe.
Their DNS table entries are again probably originating from the same peer - that getting messed up was what pretty much took down all of Western Europe for a sizable portion of a day not so long ago.
As I said try running a tracert and check where the delays actually are.
A year or so ago there was a concerted effort on the forums to track this down. It appeared to be one particular link somewhere in France and it was being used in the routing tables of about half of the UK's ISPs. Those that didn't route via that link were unaffected. Those that did got MS D/Cs regularly. -
Well prior to the mess thats been made of PVP PBs could work passably - they are very hard to kill in Dwarf, basically forget it as far as WSs are concerned unfortunately.
How that has changed I couldn't say but I suspect Nova form may be more feasible now. Have any of the experienced PvPers actually tried following the changes? -
Basically any TF you can do quickly.
Posi can be done by a competent team in around 2 hours giving 64 merits (originally 90), SSTF1 yields 111 but takes too long - typically 5-8 hours.
The respecs used to be popular especially as the each count as seperate - low 20s each but quick.
STF would be another option especially if you're also now getting merits for the flier - you could farm that for a bit whilst picking on Recluse's inner circle.
I guess Wincott's first arc could be farmed as well but I would expect a better return from TFs
Edited to correct Posi reward -

Gravity's hold does a lot of -knock*
[/ QUOTE ]This is the only part of your post that is not false.
[/ QUOTE ]
From that comment I can only draw the conclusion you haven't seen what slotting the hold for damage does.
It makes for a huge part of a Grav trollers dps and if you don't think it does DoT I don't know what you think does and I certainly see no damage figures from a foe which I have just held when hit by lift. I also see about 2/3 of the damage of propel from lift when used on a foe that hasn't been held -

Why wont the just accept the servers aint working lol
[/ QUOTE ]
Because the servers are working. If the problem was with the severs it would look very different.
What is kapput is the net infrastructure near the datacentre in germany.
[/ QUOTE ]
You beat me to saying it
If you are having trouble connecting it really sounds as if your ISP, their peers, your router or firewall is blocking that particular port. As I have said elsewhere the updater will cycle round a range of ports each time it is run - so if you can't connect quit out and try rerunning it. This has nothing to do with the CoH servers although it may be a bad route anywhere between yout PC and the server.
I'd have to say the recommendations to connect directly bypassing the updater seem ill advised - this will mean you definitely won't be able to connect once a patch is released.
can you run a tracert to the coh server address - that should show where problems are occurring. -
I suppose it should be obvious but was the SK always within range of his mentor
-
Seen that a few times - not too bad for single target toons but a real pain for AoE builds.
Ambushes can be horrific at times - I have been hid by one of 16 - mostly Bosses and Lts and that was solo on heroic in the past.
Have also seen redside some huge mob sizes solo at high levels - OK I took 4th diificulty as I was playing an AoE based toon but mobs of 12 with repeated ambushes of the same hurts on a squishy -
You could get a 16k rampack for the ZX81 you know.
-
The point is rare recipes should be - lets see now - RARE, considering you get 90 merits for Posi (I don't think that changed with the recent rejigging of rewards) and that can be done in around 2- 2 1/2 hours on a decent team - 200 is hardly difficult to get.
-
Yes just try a high difficulty Malta mish on a squishy - you'll have no trouble noticing the bosses especially the Gunslingers. Trust me sappers aren't the problem.
