I think you just have to change the launcher (remove the EU bit) but I think you'd still have to pay to purchase the game to start a US account just as if you bought another EU account.

You won't have to download the game again, but you will have to buy an American account and serial code.

Ok thanks for that, will give it a go later. Next question would be, do I need to have a seperate folder for my data for the new launcher to access or will it take it from the one already installed?
Changed the CoHupdater launcher, so it doesn't have the .eu on the end, click it and it starts the US version but starts to download the client files needed... Could I not copy over the ones needed from my eu folder to the new US folder? And if so what files do I need to copy over?

Assuming both are on exact same version - they usually are but updates get released at different time of day so may differ for a short period. It has also happened that a bug was found on US so it wasn't rolled out to EU in the past.

Just a quick question for anyone who knows the answer, if I have the EU verion and want to have the US game, do I have to purchase a US version or can I change the launch.exe to go to the US servers? And if so how is it done?
