  1. I'd say the only useless AT is one that doesn't get played.

There were some posts on the old boards about creating a Pacifist - which generally amounted to a scrapper with only the tier 1 attack, lots of tertiary pool choices.
Of course if you have all the prestige sprints you could 6 slot each of them for end red as well to keep slots away from otherwise useful powers.
  2. so people playing at +2 are getting +4 AVs, playing at +4 are getting +8 and even level +0 AVs

Looks as if the level modifier is being applied twice.
Anyone checked at +1 and +3?

  4. I seem to recall posts on the old boards about a scrapper and several Ill/ trollers that have soloed Lusca post I6 - I'm pretty sure a lot of insps were involved though. iirc the scrapper took some ridiculous length of time - double digit hours to do it.
Pre I6 several regens had managed it.

There was also a period when you got credited with the badge as long as you had done damage when it despawned but I wouldn't count those.

I'd certainly expect MMs to be one of the best suited ATs to soloing GMs as long as they arent throwing out lots of AoEs

A few days ago, I was checking my account over, and noticed something seemed a little off. Like I'd missed a vet badge. I figure they should be awarding 4 times a year (1 every three months), presuming the account doesn't go inactive. And yet I'd only received three for this year.

Now, this isn't a complaint. I posted a trouble ticket to NCSoft's customer service, and yesterday was informed I'd been awarded the correct vet badges. So props to CoH/NCSoft support. I'm just letting folks know to check their account -- just in case.
I noticed this happening a few months ago and had to petition for my missing vet award. Last I looked the vet award time was still not updating so there will probably be another one going in soon for the next one.

    Lusca - Level 25
    Adamastor - Level 29
Sally - Varies, level 28-30 IIRC
Eochai and Jack (Croatoa) - Varies, Levels 30-33
Eochai and Jack (Halloween) Varies, but usually levels divisible by 5 at the top of the zone level range (e.g. Talos level 30, Hollows level 15)
    Jurassik - Level 39

Sally is strictly speaking a Monster not a GM but as she has no attacks and only one HP it doesn't really make a lot of difference.
Does the level for Babbage apply to both the Boomtown version and the one spawned from Psynapse?

There are a few other absences - off the top of my head Hami (OK its Hami class not a GM presumably lvl 50), the DE monsters in the Hive/Monkey Island, Hydra, Crystal Titan
  7. It's possible you may be hitting the level cap for the mobs rather than the mish - what level are the team leader and mish owner and what mobs are you facing.

The mish may also be set to be back loaded so the mobs near the door could be -2 whilst those at the back may be +2

Another possibility may be if the mish owner (and possibly now the team leader) isn't in the zone when the first person enters the mish - before the last issue this would cause the mish to spawn as a Heroic/Villainous mish irrespective of the difficulty set - I'm not sure if SSK has altered that.

My guess would be, because he's 'supposed to'. We've never been told what the towers do (or what his powers are) so there's no reason to think this is a bug.
Have you compared the effects he gives on other mishes - Villain Patron contact arcs spring to mind here - that way the towers don't come into it.
Or you could even set up an AE mish to test it - might not be the exact same powers in AE though I guess.

OOPs that was intended to be directed at Everstryke.

    *Edited to add the link.*

Its probably related to the Aion launch and everyone needing to add codes to their Master Account (and apply collector edition codes to each and every character they create - who's idea was that?)
As the queues for each server were around 1200 people you can imagine the hit the servers holding account details took with everyone creating new accounts.

  12. Low damage?

I built Cayenne up as an out and out AoE toon lots of fun to play especially at high levels but you do need someone with taunt on the team as otherwise you will draw more aggro than a fire blaster - most of the control is immobs and with so many AoEs/Cones I'm amazed I don't have more debt badges.
Yes the AoEs and cones are heavy on end but the single target attacks have low end use - I can keep using those even with next to no end left.

I made no attempt to get her permadom but instead slotted IOs for acc/damage - to the extent I still hit Valkyrie after she MoGs a significant amount of the time on RSF. Nowhere near a fully optimised build though.

As to playstyle she plays much closer to a blapper with some control than a controller.
  13. it sounds similar to the problem with getting resolution settings to stick

Change and apply your settings, then go back and make sure all are set then restart the game.

There is a utility TweakCoh or something similar which will allow you to set things up from outside the game - not sure if its been updated with the latest setting though.
  14. basically its a case of doing a lot of tracerts from multiple users to the servers and attempting to identify which link is causing the problem, whether its dropped packets, connection timeouts or some other problem and then using that as evidence to try to get the ISPs and backbone providers to accept that there is a problem with their network infrastructure an do something about it.

It may be worthwhile assuming you are accessing the US servers seeing if you get the same problems on both the East and West Coast servers. If you're on the EU servers then the problem link is somewhere in France that is affecting the connection from the UK to the servers in Germany.

That would be one of the PVP zones I guess - can't really see it happening.
  16. I've seen this once before when I had both EU and US clients installed to the same folder (same thing could also apply to either Test server) and the different servers had different patch versions - once they are in synch things should be OK.

Assuming its MM pets giving them an attack order works - it might take them some time to make there way to the target though. - I presume GOTO would work as well.

Luck of the Gambler +recharge is the opposite, you get the bonus if you are within 3 levels of the IO itself, whether the power it is in is available or not. So, if you took Combat Jumping at level 24 and put a level 25 LotG in it, it would function down to level 22, but any lower and it would stop working.

I'm not sure which category KB Protection IOs fall into, perhaps someone else can clarify?

I did some low level mishes on one of my trollers against CoT before real numbers were available for mez resist. I had two KB resist IOs slotted one in a power that was unavailable and both being > 3 levels above the exemp. With all the Earth Thorns and Ruin Mages the rest of the team - tank included were bouncing all over the place from the stacked knockup whilst I was unaffected - I got the impression both IOs were giving benifit.
I seem to recall a post shortly after this hat this was WAI - I'll try to remember to check later to check the exact circumstances.

Waiting to fire off a vital power because it's dependant on another power to hit anything seems rather a waste.

Suggested slotting - two acc, three rech. Or two acc, two rech, two res. For sets, try a pair of any endmod set with rech/acc and frankenslot as many resistance set res/rech as you can spare the slots for.

I built QM on the other premise - i.e. mire first then Eclipse which was a concious decision from the outset - slotting 3 rech 3 dam res which tbh is probably overkill on the dam res (its also the same reason my Quasar has no accuracy slotted - if your doing one you may as well use the same strategy for the other) - it does mean that smaller mobs are required to cap res so even if it is necessary to hit eclipse without mire being recharged it is still likely to hit sufficient foes to cap it. It's not guaranteed and is definitely a riskier strategy but I haven't found many problems.
I can't say I've found any problems of firing the mire off getting enough aggro to drop me before hitting eclipse unless its a mez heavy group where I may be mezzed before firing eclipse off - usually if thats the case its before firing the mire and so reversing the order wouldn't make any difference anyway - the shields and cloak definitely help here. QM is human form which is more likely to have the shields chosen and slotted.
I would probably suggest some acc slotted might be a safer strategy for a build without shields though.
If you are planning fighting +5 mobs on a regular basis definitely go for the accuracy though.

The other thing to bear in mind is the use of sets for +acc would reduce the need for slotting acc in eclipse even if you don't use mire first.

I personally think the cap should be raised, but I'm comfortable with where it is at right now.
All I'm seeing in this statement is unsupported opinion.

So moving it to the BM - Why would it do this any more than otherwise? Surely that's the preferred means of transferring them or do you mean RTM - in which case why not say so.

Surely doing so would increase communication rather than diminish it in any event as you would have some price history - albeit that it is a simple matter to artificially either raise or lower this (Probably expensive to do so for purples I'll grant)
Making brash statements to that effect with nothing to back them up doesn't help anyone.

From your statement you appear to be the one who doesn't understand how the BM works - you won't be able to bid higher than the cap as you need to hold the inf to bid it. With private sales you could go higher but most people aren't going to want to transfer those sums to the seller between multiple characters and run the risk of one or other party scamming.
  25. ITF has removed a great deal of the fear these have caused, but before that I tended to charge in if I was playing one of my melee toons and take it down fast before the rest of the team noticed and agroed it - tended to be much safer in PUGS that way.

I actually farmed one to get the no one weekly nicti nemesis spot on my PB a few years back - iirc in the mid teen levels
