Kill more of them to spawn EBs maybe
I've only really seen this broken once. Was playing a tank and threw a taunt at a nearby Freak mob which promptly fled. Repeated this multiple times before /bugging it -

Quote:I'd agree with you on this. If you are paying for On-Site support then you have every right to expect to receive it.Gaia,
I know the whole troubleshooting process is a major PITA. I don't want to do it. They are refusing to take further action until I do, so they're forcing me into something I don't want to do so that I can take advantage of something I paid extra for.
How's that right again?
From what you are saying you have called them out to fix a problem, they have come out and swapped one component hoping that would fix the problem but have not properly tested the system at that point and it sounds like the original problem has recurred and may have caused the new PSU to fail. i.e. they have fixed a sympton - not the underlying problem. I'd tend to ask them to reopen the original call rather than opening a new one.
Realisticaly though I would expect most businesses would opt to just swap out the most likely problem and hope that fixes it. If it recurrs then take it back to the workshop. Check if your warranty gives you a temporary replacement whilst they fix it though.
One other thing that may be worth trying - pick up the system and gently shake it - does it rattle? - that would tend to indicate a screw is loose inside the case which could lead to a short somewhere. Note I wouldn't recommend doing this with a full tower case without help.
If that is the case try to get it to somewhere accessible and then fish it out - magnets are extremey useful at that point. -
You may also want to check you SG settings and check that May Pay Base Upkeep permission is set for your SG rank.

It could be many things ranging from a faulty switch as surmised above, a failed PSU, MB, CPU or indeed just about anything else connected to the PSU or for that matter it could be that the PSU is unable to provide the power for your system - a definite possibility if you have made significant upgrades.
Do you receive any Beep Codes on bootup or if your MB has a POST display even better? They can identify the faulty component. A Google search on Computer POST code should allow you to interpret them.
Failing that your best bet is to eliminate as many variables as possible so try first of all unplugging the power leads to everything except MB, CPU Fan and graphics card and see if it will power up and stay up. Also remove all but one stick of RAM.
You should see an black screen complaining it cannot find an OS
If you get that then your PSU, MB, CPU and GPU are all working and the problem is elsewhere
Plug other components back in one at a time until it fails again - the last one you plug in before it fails is then the problem.
If you manage to plug everything back in and it then works it would point to a poor connection somewhere or a damaged wire - keep monitoring it over time by remaking all the connections you may have fixed a bad connection or a faulty cable/connector may resurface later.
If your initial try doesn't remain powered up it is a bit more difficult to diagnose - remove any case connections to speakers, ports, switches except the power switch etc your GPU and last stick of memory and try again - if the CPU fan spins up and remains up the problem lies in the graphics system or memory - probably the grahics card/ memory stick but possibly still the MB
Also try wiggling the cables leading to your power switch - if one comes loose or the system powers up when doing so your problem is in the switch and yes like any other mechanical device they do fail.
Whilst looking at this make sure your switch is connected to the correct header on the MB - there will be a stencilled label near the connector. -
Last time I saw that - it was down to the graphics card overheating although it occurred after some time in the game.
Try checking the fan on the card is clean and rotating freely. You could also try removing the side of the case and pointing another fan at the card - if that helps you will need to improve your case cooling - the good news is case fans are cheap but you will need to check the size. -

Quote:However if you were already SKed then you would remain so even after leveling up - I did at one point have a SK who levelled to the same level as me and the SK was still in place.Based on what Badaxe said, no, level doesn't matter. Level didn't matter in the old system wrt the badge... it's just that you couldn't sidekick someone if they weren't 3+ (IIRC) levels under you, so you could never try.
I was tempted to see what would happen if they levelled past me but never got around to trying. -
Quote:This sounds like Windows behaviour when trying to write to the registry in HKLM. If you don't grant permission you won't be able to, however Windows will instead apply a copy to the HKLU and so it will appear to work. However if you log in as a different account you will probably find your installation to be out of date as that won't have access to your local user settings. If you had granted permission then the local machine settings would be picked up as up to date.In any event, it turns out that all the claims that the launcher "needs" admin privs are 100% false. It doesn't need admin privs. It asks for them. Leaving things configured to always say "no" has not prevented it from working, including updating the game when patches come out, or updating itself.

Quote:Huh, the servers are in Dallas. Isn't there something happening in Texas? Say, something like a huge wildfire affecting thousands of acres? Maybe some internet cabling going through the state?
If there's suddenly bad lag where there wasn't before, then there's a good chance that something is happening on the internet between your computer and the datacenter.
Not to mention a major power outage - that may be taking out some nodes or reducing capacity on the usual routing causing alternative paths to become more congested. -
Actually with UAC active even an admin account (except for the actual Administrator account) will run applications with its standard level token unless it is specifically granted elevation to use the admin token so even if you grant your standard account admin privileges UAC will still apply to it and by default will not apply those elevated privileges.

sounds like its integrated graphics or a laptop spec card which would be reliant on system memory as opposed to that on the card itself
-
You could save the relevant registry entries and then create a windows command script to load those settings and then the launcher.
-
You could alway go for something other than Stone Armour - just take the Cryonite Armour temp and remember to turn it off everytime you charge into combat
-
No.
SOAs and Khelds are already Epic ATs so don't get access to Epic/Patron pools -
Most toons I have done the trials on have between zero and minimal defense and never found that to be any issue on the outdoor sections - some defense would be useful in the warehouse but even that doesn't need it - far less need it softcapped.

What OS are you running and where is your installation folder located
Vista and Win 7 will require elevation to Admin rights to write to the Program Files folder and its 32 bit equivalent and also to write to the registry under the HKLM hive -
Quote:First thing to try is to disable SLiI am getting terrible framerates in-game...
With ultra settings enabled I get an average of 40 FPS, with them off an average of 60 FPS.
My specs:
Intel I7 920 Quad 2.6 GHZ
12GB of DDR3 memory.
2 Super-clocked GTX 580's running in SLI.
I understand the graphical update may have some performance issues, however this is insane.
Many games which are not designed to use it will run slower with it enabled. However I wouldn't call 40 fps terrible.
The other thing to watch is your disk performance as lots of paging will kill fps. Make sure you have at least 15% free on yor windows partition and the partition CoX is installed on if that is different. Also try clearing out temp files and then defragging. -
Quote:Actually no - your explanation of your answer is correct but the answer itself is not. This is a common type of linguistic misconception. For example, many people seem to think that "penultimate" is "more" ultimate, but it actually means almost ultimate. I.e., the penultimate syllable in a word is the second to the last, not the last. This is also illustrated by peninsula, from the Latin, "paene insula," which means "almost an island."
The ultimate item is the final item
The penultimate item is the item immediately previous to that - it is an exact definition
Almost ultimate could mean the penultimate item, equally it could mean the third from last or the 50th from last in a large collection - i.e. it is inexact. -
Did you apply the codes from both GvE and GR as both of them grant different extras and both come with a month of play time included - Play time stacks from both so you should have two months included in total.

Given HP's announcement that they are getting out of the Desktop/Tablet markets you might want to consider whether to include them. OTOH if you want a great deal and can be *very* quick there are some excellent deals on atm - they won't be there next week (or possibly tomorrow)
Some UK based suppliers
Eclipse
http://www.eclipsecomputers.com
I've had excellent turnaround on their mail order - ordered at 5pm had a knock on the door the next morning at 8am from the courier - not bad when I had only paid for a 3 day delivery - its usually 2-3 days.
They have their store in Coventry - but it gets very busy so expect to queue.
Staff are reasonably knowledgeable and happy to help (which may have something to do with the queue) and prices are very competitive
Stak Trading
http://www.stak.com
Again good mail order response. Very small shop hidden away on an industrial estate in Rugby if you can find it but very knowledgeable staff and extremely good pricing - more suited to purchasing components than complete systems though.
Overclockers
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/
Targeted primarily at the performance and gaming market. Supply both systems and components and will provide systems or kits with a guaranteed overclock. Prices are good but can be beaten and staff are very knowledgeable.
Dabs
http://www.dabs.com/
Excellent range and fair pricing. I haven't used them myself but know others who have had a good experience with them.
EBuyer
http://www.ebuyer.com/
Some of the best prices about and a very wide range. Others have had a good experience with them but mine was tarnished by poor after sales service following them dispatching the wrong item.
PCWorld
Part of the Dixons/Currys group - general PC superstore - Systems are mainly Packard Bell PCs but also a range of Apple systems. They have a fair range of components although their pricing does not compete with the mail order sites. Good to go in and see what you want though. -
iirc one of the options for beating up Snaptooth for the past 2 years was a rez power so try finding someone with the mishes still available
You can do the Mayhem/SG mish again as long as you find someone of the appropriate level to get and run it but you will not gain the temp if you already have been awarded it. You also won't receive it if you are below the mish level range. -
what are your tracerts to the game servers looking like - they will indicate which links have problems
also what percentage of packets are lost. From that you can determine whether its a problem within your own network or if not who you need to complain to
Changing your GPU will not affect network lag so it could be you have more than one problem
Also do you see the problem without Skype running - its not the most efficient with system resources -
If you want active - try a kin - sb should keep you busy
or find a KB heavy team and tank for them
oh and Madadh don't forget to factor in the crits 'trollers can get on their mezzes - those increase mag.
