  1. First off, this guide is going to give you the tips on how to get down the slopes nailing the gold every time. I won't give you any cheats or tell you where to put your teleporting people because I don't use those tricks. My best time using this method is 42.2 seconds.

What I will show you though are all of the little ins and outs of the new ski slope and I might point out a few things you are doing wrong, don't worry, I did all of these same mistakes myself, that's how I figured out how to get faster.

    Travel Powers

    Super Speed offers no control
Honestly, Superspeed is really only useful for the times you either hit rocks or when you are starting off (remember, you start off twice) The speed cap doesn't count on ice, so you will be moving WAY faster than superspeed can go. That said though, if you have Speed and not Jumping, you can still do this without a problem, the speed is VERY helpful when you do hit rocks and slip onto the sides.

    Super Jump offers control
While you should NEVER jump durring the ski race for the superfast times, Super Jump is very useful for if you accidently propel yourself off of the side, it will pull you right back in if you're fast enough and you will only loose a percentage of a second. Superjump is also very useful because it will give you excelent steering whenever you are in the air.

    Combat Jumping offers control
While this power doesn't offer as much control as Super Jump, if it's all you have, it's more than enough. It will keep you off of the walls for the most part and it will give you a bit of an extra boost if you feel the need to jump.

    Flight perfect control, no speed
If you want to learn the map of the slopes, use flight, otherwise, keep it off (unless you fall off the side and dont' want to walk back to the top and wait)

Teleportation recall friend will work, somehow
Wrong guide, I'm not teching you to cheat.

    Speed Boost offers no control
In lieu of Super Speed, Speed Boost is very useful, it will give you those extra oomphs when you're starting off and will keep you moving fairly quick if you hit rocks. Generally I give this the same credince as Super Speed, but it's nice to have a bunch of SBs tagged on you.

    Internal Reduction PERFECT control
THIS is the bread and butter of the Ski Slopes! Learn how to move with IR on and you will forget how to score a silver medal. It has the best control over all of the other travel powers. The perk of the IR boost is that it gives you perfect control, if you strafe, you are going to go that way right away, I dont' suggest using strafe though as it will slow you down, instead use the IR to keep you right where you want to be and to make quick turns when needed. It will also keep you off of the walls.

    Where should I be Skiing?
This is something that really messed me up while I was learning this. I kept on hugging the edges thinking that it would cut down my time a bit, what I didn't know was that every time I touched the edges I would be using my jumping speed instead of the slick ice slope speed (which I am pretty sure is unlimited). The trick is to stay in the dead center of the ski slope, which sounds easy, but those corners are VERY sharp, and it will take a while to get used to the slope, once you have it though you can do it in your sleep... I almost did last night.

    Twists and Turns
    Teleporter / Propeller
There are a few decisions to make while on the slope, for the first section there is only the one, Teleporter or Propeller. Take the teleporter as the propeller has the standard flaw of hitting mountains (and it's VERY slow)

    Over / Under
The next decision is at the Over/Under section, where you can do a quick jump and go over the steps, or go under and risk hitting a beam (which is likely) For the first half hour or so I went over and lost about a second or two in that jump, then I went under and explored it a bit, there is a section on the right that if you hit just right you won't loose any speed (and will even gain a bit). When I am neck and neck with people for the entire race, this is where I always pull ahead.

Snow Beast Split, Left / Right
The final decision to make is at the Snow Beast. While the left turn is a lot shorter (about 30 yards shorter) you have to jump again, and this will slow you down. It's best to take the right path, but not just for the jump, there is another reason.

The Right path has a long narrow straightaway that will throw you right into the path for the final exit. If you get yourself set up you just have to make a short left turn at the end and you're done, if you go to the left though you have to line it up from an angle, which could loose more speed.

The biggest worry about going right, asside from the extra distance, is that there are a few rocks when you first take that side, just stay to the right and you shouldn't have a problem with them, if you do hit them, dont' worry, your SB/SS should take care of them pretty well.

    Victory Dances
I personally prefer /cheer and /dance, but I'm a bit of a slacker in that regard. I also don't have the Robot expansion yet, so no /robotdance for me
  2. Another good set that I've used for a lot of SS type builds is my RoboArm costume that really doesn't look like they have roboarms, just really cool gloves/sleeves

    Laria Endal 1
    Laria Endal 2

I also sometimes like a more classic look. This character is a MA/SR scrapper, but it works well for what your thinking too, just have to change out those gloves a bit ;p

I get that on three work computers, my home computer, and my mom's new MacBook.
  4. Hey! Those thumbsup were important! I should get a run of me doing it in one video, I have pulled of 42 seconds before so I think I could get VERY close. LOL
  5. Oh, fastest time (not recorded) is 44.50s, which is only .37 from breaking into the top 5. Which pisses me off like nothing else ;p
  6. To be fair, I had to make 4 runs to get this whole video. I wanted a before and after and the during so I needed to get a few different runs, that's why the video's background flashes at the beginning and at the end (you don't notice the second because it's the teleporter)

Anyway, my average time was about 58 seconds or so, I had a lot of fun doing this, especially without having to worry about SB and IR, I move too fast with those.

WARNING: I picked some music that's got a LOT of bad language in it... but it's funny so go with it.

    Really long hair

Dang hippies with your long hair and your smokin' the reefer...
  12. For things like the PomPoms and other fist type powers couldn't we consider these as weapons? Make them have a draw sequence where the player powers up (perhaps using the Haste animation) and then the fists glow using a weapon style. It won't fix the blasts, but then we won't have pink pompoms and they can stay out as long as we keep the power activated.

It still wouldn't fix the ranged powers, but for mele powers it would work.

Which reminds me... I would love to be able to create missions which would allow two teams to play on the mission at the same time with conflicting objectives...

Now THAT would be a fun idea, sort of like an Arena Mission, I would be into that. Perhaps one team has to protect an item while the other team has to destroy it. Love it!
  14. From what I am understanding (I could be VERY wrong, but I like it if I'm not) you can have unPub missions that are on your characters and you can have several of them, basically I'm only publishing the first two and having the third for myself. Then when I go to do the test run (another feature that is needed if not in) then I will have my group with me, since I am obviously a main character in my SGs story, this makes sense.

If this is Not true though, I can always just make my SG mission public and just spend some time to make it good.

I do agree with what you said at the end though, where it would be nice to have a SG mission arc, perhaps that could be another idea we can throw at them.

    3 Publishes per account
1 Publish per SG/VG (at a cost of perhaps 5-10m prestige?)

I would drop half of my SGs funds to get this going, we don't do raids anyway
  15. Nevermind, I forgot timezones, it all happened while I was at work. Keep up the good work guys!
  16. Aww man! I was going to log on in the morning after work. You suck Ex Libris. Just let them fend for themselves and give us a ski slope and some badges... Oh, we got those yesterday? Good deal then. THANKS!
  17. Hey, in theory could this be used to change a sound?

This may sound silly, and it is, but I would really like to make the Giant Male Running sound go from (THUMP THUMP THUMP) to him singing (do-da-do-do-do-do-do! Do-da-do-do-dum!) I have the sound, but am nto sure if I could do this... or if I am even allowed.

    Any help?
  18. One thing I've thought of though is that I do feel that the MA should have an ambush feature. I want to make a Terra Volta type mission (but outside) with a bunch of Rikti teleporting in to the mission. Perhaps I could just have it so when you approach a bunch of those Rikti Portals open. Ooh! That could be a large portion of the mission right there, all of the portals opening up and having the Rikti come pouring out,

    REWRITE!
  19. ((opens a bag with 800 candy canes falling out))

Oh thank god! I can get rid of these things again!
  20. Ahhhhh! Spiders! Spiders everywhere! Get them off of me! Get them off of me!
  21. So I get that there are no Cutscenes, but I am wondering if when we walk into an area if we could trigger the NPCs to speak. I have two mission strings in my mind... well three now, stupid guild... anyway.

I am wondering if I can make the NPCs talk, just so I can have them do a bit of a storyline in their missions. I actually plan on making GOOD missions, not just ones that will be boring and droll.

    1) The Kheldion Act (Ouroboros introduction to the Peacebringers)
    2) Rularuu Conquest (Outworld adventures against the Rularuu bosses... all of them)
    3) MECH Empire Initiation (Guild related)

the first one I wanted to have a lot of dialog so that players can see my take on the PBs coming to earth, they never explained it so I figure I would use my version and publish it, who knows!

Anywho, I am TOTALLY looking forward to this update, it's very exciting for me.
  22. @Endal - Freedom

    Description
The Empire of MECH is a Guild founded by Grand Master Rasta in the realm of Never Winter Nights. MECH is bent on cleansing the worlds of all lower forms of life (everything non-MECH). This is done through the skills, methods, and technology granted to us by Gond, the God of Metal.

MECH is composed of purified individuals who have had their past lives removed. Purification allows for said beings to begin a new life as MECH, provided they survive the process. Through this process they are stripped of their memories and reach a new level of existence after being altered, enhanced and molded into a superior form of life.

Many view our goals as evil, but upholding these principles forms the core of every MECH's programming, and is the only acceptable method of self preservation and advancement within the Empire. MECHs are mechanically efficient and cold, rarely displaying emotion of any kind.
