You should probably post down in the Protector forums (they're towards the bottom of the forum list). You'll get a better response there.
EDIT: Mods moved the post on me, so disregard that bit
And just to be helpful with some CoH commonly used terms, You're looking for a supergroup which is this game's equivalent to a guild in fantasy MMOs. Supergroups are segregated by villain or hero groups (if you're a villain you can't join a hero SG or if you're a hero you can't join a villain one). Although things get kinda fuzzy with going rogue out now. But my point ends up being that you need to specify your alignment (hero/vigilante or rogue/villain) when searching for a group.
Also, we refer to our servers as, well...servers. Shards is also used in-game. You don't generally hear the term "realm" around these parts often. -
Quote:You might want to log a bug report using the /bug command over this. That shouldn't be how it's supposed to work and they probably will want to know about it.Thanks for replies everybody. I tried logging in with 3 different lvl 20+ characters and logged out completely after each one, but nothing worked (I even waited 24 hours to see if it needed time to think about it). Finally I just got my lvl 18 to lvl 20 and as soon as she hit 20 the epic archetypes were unlocked. Kind of annoying, but at least something worked.

I would imagine they're fairly busy now with the release of Going Rogue. They're usually totally swamped for the first couple weeks after a new release, especially one the size of going rogue.

Quote:Necessary when in combat. Not standing at a place with an automatic kill field around it. (I view mastermind pets as ok if you're just passing through but if you're going to be there a while kill 'em). My rule is, if it takes less than 15-30 seconds to set back up again, then suck it up and turn them off.But seems equally self-centric to wish other people lose necessary powers for your sake, just because they wish to use the same environment as you. (Even for just a quick stop-off)
I'm not militant anti-toggle. I'm militant anti-heavy power effects toggles. Even if it's a quick stop off, you're still killing performance.
I don't think that's something people with higher end machines really get...exactly how much low framerates affect the market screen usability.
(Apologies for all the editing...wasn't terribly clear my first attempt) -
Quote:Works for The Hollows too. Many of my characters wander over to talk to David when I'm in the area of the hollows gate in atlas park, just so they don't have to do that stupid mission where you need to go across a whole zone and click on him.It should for Strigga anyway... since you have to be 20 to switch sides the Hollows is outleveled already. Stephanie Peebles (AKA in my SG "That Smokin' Hottie"
) is a walk up contact.
But that's kinda a moot point for side switching due to the whole out leveled thing.
General rule is any zone that's been added or revamped (that wasn't part of CoV or GR type expansion) has walk up contacts assuming you're in the level range. -
Quote:I'm running on a lower end machine (although not LOW end, it's 3+ years old at this point with a ATI X1600 graphics card). It's not all toggle powers, but certain ones with heavy graphical effects can make things very difficult to use the market effectively. It slows down the UI enough (already slowed down by the gigantic memory hog that is the market window) to make typing slow and laggy and mouse clicks can also get delayed signifiganty. To those with compy performance issues: I do run a reasonably recent machine, though not cranked to the hilt. Does one guy flying in/out or running several armors really ruin your game?
So the answer is...yes. It does. It makes using the market for any length of time very difficult.
The worst is the people who have AoE heal type powers on auto for some unknown reason. Although I haven't seen one of those in a while.
EDIT: It's not really flight or travel powers that are an issue. It's things like the armors, the PBAoE toggles like Shadow's Fall, Arctic Air, the force field and sonic defense bubbles, player based AoE damage power toggles. Especially with multiple people using them.
Please, please, PLEASE think of the other people. 15 seconds to re-toggle your powers isn't REALLY that long of a time. -
Quote:Answer: There's jerks and inconsiderate people in the world who are unable to consider how their actions impact those around them. Those people also play video games. Is the solution here really to just run away to some less frequented market location? Do videogame players really lack any kind of common courtesy that they all insist that everyone else suffer them while they refuse to budge for those very same people? That's a really weird way of thinking. Also very self centered.

Yeah, sometimes your account status can get stuck as "online"
But changing your password isn't a bad idea, just in case. -

It's not server population, but the server load stats are a decent indication. The servers are ordered by your last picked server on top, and then in order of least current server load to heaviest.
Since freedom is probably the server with the most load, click into that and then go back to the server list to put Freedom on top. Virtue will probably be the last one on the list and then whatever is above virtue is #3 at the current moment.
Probably a good idea to try this in prime game time when there's the most number of players on, which is around 7-11PM Eastern time, maybe a little bit later. -
I'm not sure what difference you're seeing, but they should be the exact same thing. There's no difference in the game installing from CD and downloading.
There's no real advantage to using a CD except if your internet connection is slow and you have a recent CD. You'll have to download all updates that happened after the release of the CD, so...unless you have a going-rogue disc, you'll be downloading a ton of stuff (pretty much the entire game).
Performance will be unchanged between the two install methods. -
You need to use an external program in order to get this to work, as the right stick isn't recognized at all by CoH. This thread might prove helpful: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=230914 (Kindly ignore the part where I was incorrect about CoH not supporting gamepads officially, thanks
)

Well, I can tell you that "rezzing up smaller ( < 1920x1200 ) screenshots" isn't going to be a very good way to go. The ladies will be distracted by the blurry mess and their disorientation and confusion would not wow them in the way you're looking for
You can stretch it to a certain point, but for a decently high quality print it's not going to work for anything more than something that's around 6-7 inches wide and 4-5 inches high without degrading the quality too much. The only people who know how to enlarge a image to the size you're talking about with perfect clarity are the guys on TV shows like CSIAnd they're not sharing their purely made up techniques with the rest of us. Jerks
So you're left with trying to figure out how to take truly gigantic screenshots. And there I can't help you. -
You might find this guide helpful:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=120140
The short version is: you can download on one machine and then copy it over to the new one by moving your entire c:\program files\city of heroes\ folder to the same spot on your new computer.
You just need to figure out the best way of moving about 3-3.5GB worth of game -
You can go into the Wassy Wednesday folder and make a comment there (if you can see the comments bit in there, not sure if non-members can see it)
Either that or posting an idea here in this thread or leaving it in a comment section on the main page division 401 group page will work. -

You are asking for an astronomical amount of work for free(or almost free). In my experience around here, once you start getting past the 1-2 character mark your chances of finding somebody willing to do something like that plummet to near 0%

Queue = much better than a grey-ed out server that locks you out entirely.

If I had to take a guess at it...either Alienware paid them to include it or somebody saw the feature, noticed the SDK and said "huh cool, let me see if I can do something with that" and hacked it up in their spare time.

I implore you, for the sanity of your teammates, please have two buttons...one with the yell and one without.

Quote:Well, you were actually, until you left the eggs out all day after the shootIs set-up photography not an art if you're using a digital camera? I did a huge photoshoot of eggs for a Photography assignment. Was I just making breakfast?
There's good 3d/poser stuff out there, but like you said, you have to do a lot of post work on it usually to make it really shine, and you still need to understand the fundamentals. Which is why there's a ton of bad poser art out there because it's so easy to get into and extremely hard to master.
The dead eye look is what gets me with most 3d pieces, which is thankfully finally becoming less and less common as people get more experience and the technology gets better and better. It's still very early on in the game with this stuff. -

Yeah, I'm under the impression that what they went through to create HeroStats is probably pushing the limits of what the EULA allows, but actually using it doesn't violate anything as it doesn't modify or reverse engineer any game files.
