Quote:Helpful forum tip:Sorry to bump this. I'm sure there was an easier way to sub to it, but presently I'm too lazy to research how.
Go to the first post in the thread, then look slightly up and right to where the "Thread Tools" menu is. Open that up and the last link is "subscribe to thread" -
I dunno if anybody's ever worked out the numbers for a solo player, but I suspect it still follows the "less xp per kill, but more kills per hour so more xp overall" scenario.

That's an important clarification. At least one of your 3 50's is a hero yes?
If it is, then log in with them, log back out and it should work. -
My initial thought is a corrupted cookie.
Have you tried clearing your browser cache/cookies on your home machine?
If you're not sure how to do that (dunno what level of tech expertise you're running with), post which web browser you're using and somebody should be able to point you in the right direction. -
I was wondering about this myself. I haven't been able to figure it out either.
EDIT: After looking at the names of the images, the bright green buttons are _pos and the dimly lit ones are _highpos.
Which leads me to believe that after you get enough rep points, the rep meter button changes color. -
When you save a costume file, it's put out on your hard drive.
If you've installed CoH in the default location, these costume files will be found in c:\program files\city of heroes\costumes\
Just take the file from there and you can send it to whoever you want. They can then take it and put it back in that directory on their computer and they'll have the saved costume file. -

What? You mean I shouldn't take boxing and kick on my scrapper???
Awww man! -
Two things really make CoH stand out in the MMO world (There are definitely more, but these are the two I'd consider the big ones):
1. Rich character customization
2. Sidekicking system
They know that and wouldn't get rid of either of them. The fact that they've stuck with sidekicking for so long even knowing the massive implications of it on power leveling shows it's going to be around for the long haul. -
Quote:My understanding of that provision is that a parent can create an account for a minor for the exclusive use of the minor. Not that sharing is ever allowed. It's the exception to the "license to use" part that gets you around the fact that accounts are non-transferable. Meaning if you paid for it, you're the only person who's authorized to use it. The wording in the EULA pretty clearly states "Only one person may use an Account.", right after they say if you're under 18 you must get parental consent first since you can't enter into contracts with minors.A parent is allowed to share accounts with their child. Technically speaking they're probably supposed to be under direct supervision all or most of the time, but it's doubtful there's been a EULA violation in this case.
Support WILL undelete characters, if they can. However if you've remade the character while waiting, you're out of luck I think.
Of course, NCSoft probably isn't going to peg you for letting your son play on your account... -
I think it's really a combination of 1 and 4.
The devs knew a lot more about power balancing and had tech to create more interesting and difficult enemies. The presence of Longbow everywhere comes to mind. There's also more elite bosses/AVs.
And I think that the hero ATs are very good at one or two things whereas the villain ATs are built to be more general. They're pretty good at a bunch of things. Jack of all trades, master of none as it were.
Like a dominator is ok at crowd control and damage, but isn't going to be able to beat a controller for crowd control or one of the more specialized damage dealing hero ATs for damage output.
That's definitely not saying the hero ATs are better or worse than the villain ATs. It's just a different design philosophy. -
Quote:http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...0&postcount=22Link, please. I see intermittent issues, but it hasn't been enough to deter gaming for me (a mission's length of time will be borked, and then get better, but YMMV). If there's a discussion on this, I'd like to see it to offer my two cents.

Wow, awesome. Neat seeing a character in plushie form! Squisheriffic does really great work.

Yes...yes they are *hugs his rightful handle*

Sent mine in too. Frost better still be available...I've had this name for YEARS.

I'm going to imagine that banning somebody is the only way they had to turn off their forum posting access as an official developer account on the old forums.
-
Binds are limited to one power activation per bind. So, unfortunately, that bind will only fire off Increase Density.

The most up to date planner is Mids, which you can find over at http://www.cohplanner.com/
That said, the current stable release is only through i13. The developer is working on an update which is *almost* finished. There's a couple nasty bugs that need to be stamped out first though.
There might be some unofficial data files for mids that'll bring it back up to date, but I dunno where you'd find them -
Hear that sound?
That's the sound of PLers crying out in one voice and then being suddenly silenced.
If the exemplar power loss issue is solved, I'm all for these changes. -
Quote:First of all, your scrapper analogy is misguided. Scrapper shields are, for the most part passive. You toggle it on and you forget about it.Make keybinds for SB and it's way easier. Saying you're only focusing on your primary and not your secondary only makes you half as effective on a team.
Try playing a scrapper and not turning on any of your shields.
Second, I never said I don't use my secondary. I said that I tend to focus on my primary when in a fight. Which means that if I have to make a choice between trying to protect the team and drop and very much needed AoE hold/immobilize/whatever and keeping a buff like speed boost up 100% of the time...I'm going to chose the first option. My job is to protect the team and I play with that in mind. Protecting the team depends on the situation too. Like, if you're fighting ghost widow on a STF, making sure the tank has the proper amount of mez protection suddenly becomes priority number 1.
If somebody is dying I'm not going to not heal them because I'm in the middle of re-applying speed boost. It's a lot faster with binds, which I use, but it still takes a big chunk of time, especially on larger teams and in combat there's often much more important things to be doing. I do get around to it eventually though.
And I'm not saying that controllers that never buff get a pass since that's an important part of their role in the team. But it's a secondary role and should be understood as such. If you want somebody who's primary purpose it to make sure everybody is buffed, a Defender is what you're looking for. There's definitely overlap, but the primary focus of the two is designed to be different. -
If you're in the middle of a long fight a speed boost wears off with the controller not noticing, that's all right in my book. But they should be trying to keep it up (on people who want it of course) when they can.
When I play my controllers I tend to focus a little more on my primary, but I don't totally ignore my secondary skills either. Especially a power like fulcrum shift. Speed Boost can get lost a bit if I'm distracted in a fight.
Depends on the situation you're in, but I'd say it sounds like bad playing. -
